Triple-jump and long-jump. It's a 120 game.
Some gifs to whet your appetite for 3D Mario The return of the recovery heart in the second gif is nice to see but I'm curious about those robot sombrero folk
I'm just happy to see Mario do the airplane arms again.
So does Nintendo have some kind of partnership with Arby's or something?
Arby's has been doing mixed media related posts for about a month now. This was up the other day. [editline]October 20 2016[/editline] This was too. Hopefully it doesn't turn out to be a Cookie and Cream sequel or something. :v:
HS seems like a perfect fit for Switch if a touchscreen is involved. Pretty crazy regardless, has a Blizz game ever been on a Nintendo console?
We did almost get that Starcraft game, Ghost on the gamecube. Also hoping with Starbreeze up there we get to see Payday 2 and the new Walking Dead game on the Switch
[t]http://img.gamefaqs.net/box/6/0/7/7607_front.jpg[/t]
It's weird too, because the port had an exclusive bonus mission that was actually canon in Starcraft 2 if I remember right.
And nothing of value was lost.
Eh, who cares about Gearbox these days? They've gone downhill.
B-but we might be able to get blockbuster hit Battleborn on the Switch!
I keep going to update the OP but I wind up just typing "IT LOOKS SO GOOD" in all caps and yelling irl
Some gifs to whet your appetite for 3D Mario The return of the recovery heart in the second gif is nice to see but I'm curious about those robot sombrero folk
See, the first gif gets me excited and make me think it's a 64 style 3d game, but then the second gif makes me think of another 3d land linear type game and I get disappointed. I mean 3d land/world was good but I much prefer the 64/sunshine type levels.
it makes me think that there will be themed world hubs, and each hub will branch off into smaller levels like the second gif which would be sick
It took me awhile to realize that there's ground if Mario falls in the second gif and somethings digging around in the dirt down there. Really though I'm fine with either kind of mario. Personal takes but I think the 3D World Formula is a million times better even if it's seen as safer. 64 and Sunshine both had better movement options that were fun to play with but the open ended levels meant there wasn't as much structure to actually use those platforming skills on. A highlight of Sunshine for a lot of people is when the FLUDD gets yanked from you and you're asked to run through a random flying obstacle course- which is exactly what 3D World is sans the movement options. I'm having a hard time describing how I feel about it personally because I don't hate 64 by any means, I just don't want a handful of static playgrounds- I want actual challenge and a reason to use the platforming skills given to me. That being said though the only way I'd be let down is if it's like Sunshine garbage ass in that everything is themed on a single place. Luckily the bullet bills seem to be classic styled so I'm not too worried about things getting redesigned to hell and back but man Sunshine's aesthetic got old fast.
This is what I mean. To further increase the parity, the hard and round corners could be made closer together in shape and the -/+ and Home/[whatevertheotherthingis] buttons can be aligned to the Joy-Cons' center axes. But symmetrical makes a whole lot more sense design-wise, especially if they intend to use the Joy-Cons as their own controllers.
The reason that won't work is that there's actually shoulder buttons on the inside of the joycon if this screenshot is any indication [t]http://i.imgur.com/MhmbJJj.png[/t] They're clearly drifting, but the only buttons they're holding are the joystick and A, and their fingers are both clawed around the top of the Joycon. So there's shoulder buttons on the inside. The flat end of the joycon needs to be facing away from the player.

[t]http://i.imgur.com/b3LFm7s.png[/t] edit: also, someone on twitter mentioned a good idea: what if some games came with special joy-cons? like just for one side maybe, but added extra control, akin to those addons some gba games had. The baby controllers I just can't wrap my head around. Like I'm trying to imagine doing a 200cc race with that lil wafer and it's making my hands hurt just thinking about it.

Like I'm trying to imagine doing a 200cc race with that lil wafer and it's making my hands hurt just thinking about it.
they are roughly the same height and depth as an iphone 4, if this is anything to go by. If you've ever held one of those sideways while playing a racing game or what have you, you can understand how it feels in the hands. granted, i would've appreciated it being a bit taller but i think it'll work. [editline]20th October 2016[/editline] that and i guarantee they'll change it by next year as they always do.
Just give me a Joy-Con (L) with a regular d-pad and I'll be all set. [sp]I'm totally going to buy all the gimmicky game-specific add-on ones anyway though, god damn it.[/sp]

Also, look carefully at the video and you'll notice that the ice in the second gif is actually infiltrating parts of the town in the first one. Seems the plot may involve Bowser or someone else freezing the world to a degree.

It could be that the sliders to hold the controllers in their rails are perhaps themselves shoulder buttons specifically for the separate modes. If that's the case, it's a stroke of genius making them pull double-duty as part of the locking mechanism via their shape. And I agree that having specialized Joy-Cons for certain games could be a great way to incorporate more play methods.

it's probably already been said but the thing i look forward most to is the fact that nintendo won't have to split their resources between consoles anymore (wii u and 3ds). just switch and the occasional smartphone game
I'm probably late to this, but what's THQ Nordic on the partnership list? I thought THQ died?
I'm probably late to this, but what's THQ Nordic on the partnership list? I thought THQ died?
THQ Nordic is Nordic Games after they bought a bunch of THQ's licenses, they just took on the name, too
I'm probably late to this, but what's THQ Nordic on the partnership list? I thought THQ died?
nordic acquired the rights to the THQ branding when they died. they rebranded as THQ Nordic in august.
well that's disappointing
I'm probably late to this, but what's THQ Nordic on the partnership list? I thought THQ died?
Nordic Games bought a ton of THQ licenses and renamed themselves to THQ Nordic earlier this year: https://www.thqnordic.com/ EDIT: double fuckin' ninjad
Overwatch on the go would require some form of data plan. Please no Nintendo.
I'd totally bring my Switch at work to play Overwatch and other online games during breaks! The "on the go" aspect doesn't mean you have to play it in the train. Besides, aren't some trains, buses and planes equipped with free Wi-Fi?
I'd totally play Overwatch on the go if it had a single player campaign. [sp]it really should at some point[/sp]
