But we also have to remember that the NES Mini is being released around the holidays. So i'm pretty sure announcing more about the Switch would confuse people and make some more angry confused customers.

Is there any chance of info being leaked before then? Like if a third party company was making a game for it, would they announce the game between now and january? or would nintendo pressure them to not do that for some reason?

I hope WiiU's drop down in price soon, i'd still like to get my hands on one despite the Switch coming out.

I saw a link to a Swedish/Scandinavian site where you could preorder a switch for €1000 (cdon.com). Although they said that the price will probably change which I interpreted as they just guessed the price.

Holidays around the corner. Let's give it one final goodbye push in sales. Not everyone will be able to get the Switch and there will be no backwards compatibility so people will miss on many good titles (if they don't get ports that is).

A TON of stores usually put one up just so they can start taking preorders early.

Every company has dumb investors; you can't expect them to like the same things that the consumers do or have the same sensibilities that a company would.

There's no reason given to hold off and see more to a casual gamer. 2 Months is literally nothing unless they cram every station and every theater full of nonstop ads because now they'll have only those 2 months to get information about the games and the system out. I'm getting the system but I fully expect it to do terribly at first now, and if it recovers who knows given Nintendo's trackrecord pulling things up with the gamecube and wii-u.

I fully expect Nintendo to not cock up the marketing this time around. As long as the price isn't retarded and the launch line-up is strong, it should do fine and definatly meet Nintendo's sales expectations.

If they gave us the information now, by the time Jan comes, people except Hardcore Fans will forget about it due to Christmas, the price drops on other consoles and so on. And so what if they want Casuals as well? Remember how big the Wii was? It's obvious Nintendo is focusing on the Hardcore fans this time around but it doesn't mean they can't try with the Casuals again, their just not the priority this time. And yes, Two months is plenty of time to Market a console. Nintendo has done better marketing with the Switch than the Wii U, and that is only one Trailer. I am sure news outlets all over the place will be talking about the Switch after the Jan 12th Direct, then more when people get to try it out before release, and then the actual TV/posters/magazine/ads marketing will come along.

I owned the whole wii generation of consoles. Had the x360, ps3 and skipped the current one. But oh boy, I really want this one. I'll be saving money.

Their constant calls for mobile led to Iwata finally conceding the position and announcing mobile games in the early 2015 investors' meeting, then having to announce NX in the very next sentence to assuage gamers they were still making hardware.
