Sad to hear, I personally love my Wii U. That being said the best part of the Wii U was being able to play games out in the living room, so Switch is basically that but better.
It said fin because the cafe is specifically requesting Kine to be in the next game.
I'll be cool to see the animal buddies from Dreamland 2/3 to return on the next Kirby game.
If you want to hear something sadder than the last Wii U rolling off the line . . . Worldwide, Paper Mario: Color Splash only sold 64,000 units in it's first week, an abysmal amount for a major Mario game, most likely due to disdain for the card gimmick and the lack of new characters. Most sales for an AAA title of a recurring IP occur within the first week of release, so it is fairly implausible it will ever, say, hit 200k lifetime. So instead of dropping the card system in the future, we might straight up never get another Paper Mario.

I and probably many other people are waiting for it to drop to $40 or $30 before I pick it up.

People who were put off of the series by SS heard "It's still closer to that game than the ones you actually liked, but hear me out..." and that's just a hard thing to convince people over
How many series did Nintendo have under-perform this year? First it was Star Fox Zero, then Federation Force and Paper Mario- are there any other games I'm forgetting?
Animal Crossing Amiibo Festival, maybe? I can't remember how much that sold, but it didn't seem like it had much potential. I'm usually glad to see mediocre games rewarded with mediocre sales, but since I have a strong Nintendo bias I'm just sad that they keep making these mistakes.
Federation Force and Color Splash had so damn much anti-hype around it, it was no surprise they've underperformed. Sad though, those games turned out to be alright after all.

Nintendos been on a downward spiral for a while. Remember last years E3? Christ, it was like a nonstop barrage of "shit no one cares about". The one highlight of that was Star Fox which still sucked. The new Mario Party undersold in Japan, if we need more proof of underperforming games.
Nintendo really needs to get their shit together. Feels to me they've been more out of touch than usual, they continue to reach out for the casual audience that was pulled in from the Wii and their more core oriented releases have been pretty shitty. Here's hoping with the switch we start seeing a comeback of some kind
So instead of dropping the card system in the future, we might straight up never get another Paper Mario.
I kinda doubt one flop will kill the series. Sticker Star still did incredibly well, at 2.29 million units sold worldwide despite being a lackluster game. I think Nintendo's going to pin CS' sales on the Wii U this time around

Slider, Reese, and Cyrus pack for $10. I basically got K.K. for less than the price of one regular Amiibo, and two free extras!
So footage of the new Crusin game is out:
Question: why would they end Wii U production before their next monolith title (Breath of the Wild) is released for it? Has this happened before, or is it common, for a corporation to end production of a system but still put out first-party titles for it?

I don't know if that's happened, but its had to have been the case for one of Sega's products.
Apparently Ravio has a Dab Animation in Hyrule Warriors.
I'd say that's just more of a stereotypical pose most characters do in Japanese media. Have you seen the average Tokusatsu show? Or Jojo?

I bought that game and it's a fucking snoozefest. It's like Mario Party but if you sucked literally all the fun out of it. Slow, boring, and confusing. There's a decent survival minigame you can play outside of the main board game, but the entire rest of the game is balls. I wholly believe it was developed and shoved out quickly in order to scoop up some more of the amiibo craze, and Nintendo needs to be taught a lesson about it. In fact, I'm certain the upcoming New Leaf amiibo update is a last-ditch attempt to salvage the entire AC amiibo line after amiibo Festival and Happy Home Designer blew it. Gotta find a way to sell all the unsold AC amiibo stock that's currently cluttering store shelves on heavy discount.
So footage of the new Crusin game is out:
I'd be more willing to accept the ridiculous shaders and visuals as 90s cheese if it didn't have just 5 tracks. Cruis'n USA's arcade version had 10 and the first Mario Kart Arcade GP had 12. Also Cruis'n Redline > Cruis'n Blast as a name.
is it common, for a corporation to end production of a system but still put out first-party titles for it?
The Super Famicom got official Nintendo games all the way until 2000 (including Fire Emblem: Thracia 776. This adherence to the SFC was part of the reason FE never appeared on the Nintendo 64 as the last Super Famicom game [Metal Slader Glory: Director's Cut by HAL Laboratories, Nov 2000] and first Gamecube games [Sept 2001] were separated by barely 10 months, as shocking as that sounds), so it's not a first for the company.
I hope Breath of the Wild is getting performance improvements in the time leading up to its release; the frame rate needs some fixing considering it dips down to around 20 fps at times

Nintendo had no plan set up. The announcement of "NX" when it happened was probably him desperately throwing his last light out to the future.
No Famicom Disk System underneath it yet it has FDS games, shit model 0/10 would not nostalgia
[thumb]http://68.media.tumblr.com/adca51d55903acd405da516c169bbf9a/tumblr_og0c4tZnSV1s2z1y6o3_1280.jpg[/thumb] [thumb]http://68.media.tumblr.com/6c6f5176f07284c88080d9bb55763533/tumblr_og0c4tZnSV1s2z1y6o2_1280.jpg[/thumb] Fixed.
Animal Crossing Puzzle League, amiibo functionality, crossover items. The upcoming Monster Hunter amiibo work with at least the Japanese version. Best things are you can sell your town for Bells when you start a new game and integration of the Happy Home Designer touch screen system for room decoration.
Update is live now for animal crossing - Two new games, Island Escape from Amiibo Festival and Puzzle League (holy cow) - Wolf Link, Ganon, Medli and Epona are all villagers as well as the Splatoon Squirrels. There's also a inkling octopus named Inkton - New furniture awarded to you by doing every day tasks like picking fruits and the like - Lottie is here now and capable of making the game a mini-HHD where you can now move furniture like in that game. Cross save adds giant furniture for you to buy. - 50 new and returning characters are in the cards. - You can call NPC's too. - You can sell your town to Tom Nook if you want to make a new town, he'll pay you a massive amount of bells based on how nice it looks so you aren't empty handed. - You can also buy a new room for your house that's a "magic storeroom". You can access it while out in the town and put stuff in it and take stuff out, it's a new closet basically that you can access anywhere.
Ahh good, one of the reasons I gave up on my old town was because it had a crap layout. Nice to see that I could get something back out of it if I start over.
I still don't want to lose my catalog, though, so that's very upsetting. :(
