General Nintendo Discussion V5 - The Future of Nintendo

Hey guys, I wanted to get a game for my new 3ds on the e-store to play sort of casually but I don't know which to get. I'm thinking either some old zelda because I've never played a single zelda game before.
My other thoughts are some mario game, I've never had an old nintendo device but my cousin had a SNES and we used to play super mario world and that was fun but I never beat it. Or I'm thinking of getting some other game, like mega man (which I've played only on one ocassion really) or something else. I'm kind of certain I want a virtual console game though. What would you recommend?

I'm surprised that it has support for Mario Party 2 and 3 listed, I was only expecting the first. But it makes sense since they share the same engine.
Definitely going to have to try it out so I can [del]torture[/del]treat my friends with the joy of endless Mario Party boards.
Good news for those who's interested, Nintendo is going to have the New Nintendo 3DS for $99 on Black Friday.
I've owned New Leaf since launch and I still don't have a complete section of the museum.
I blame my early "sell all the fossils" that I've done since the first game.
fossils are the only one i ever finished, bugs and fish are almost done but the seasonal bugs/fish make shit more time consuming and painting's just a matter of waiting for red or a villager

Man, fuck Nintendo. I waited and waited for the black n3ds and bit on the 3dland bundle thinking it'll never happen and here it is in black and for $50 cheaper.
I know they didn't force me to buy the 3dland one but I'm still damn salty.
I wonder if they'll pull a sale for the XL. $100 for either n3DS is a hell of a deal, but I'm really amping up for an XL. I want that galaxy one.

Are there no black N3DSs in the US? Is it the same for N3DS XL?

I was quite literally about to press the buy button for a new 3ds on Amazon yesterday but I waited. Holy hell I'm glad I did, finally a US black N3DS.
Are there no black N3DSs in the US? Is it the same for N3DS XL?
Nintendo has been super stingy about N3DS releases here in the states for some reason. Until now all N3DS's released here have been in one of like 3 or 4 bundles and have all been white.
Are there no black N3DSs in the US? Is it the same for N3DS XL?
Nope, you have to buy the regular new 3ds's in limited edition bundles and it's only been in white. Even then you can't find the accessories in stores.
The xl's have all the colors of the rainbow.
Apparently Tantalus, the team that ported Twilight Princess HD, are considering taking suggestions for their next port, which will be on the Switch:
Tantalus have a history of developing games for Nintendo platforms, with the recent release of The Legends of Zelda Twilight Princess HD, so how do you think your fans will react to Switch?
We’ve always worked on Nintendo platforms and now of course after Twilight Princess HD our relationship with Nintendo is stronger than ever. I expect fans will look back through Nintendo’s catalogue and think about which titles they’d like us to bring to Switch. Everyone should feel free to make suggestions on our FaceBook page ;)
Woah man, can't have any swearing in an M rated game despite the original having it now.
They ruined The Great Mighty Poo's song with the censorship

Yooka-Laylee on Switch or bust.
Yooka-Laylee on Switch or bust.
If Tantalus is right and saying that Nintendo made it easy to make games for the Switch, then I forsee a fuckton of games coming to the device for cheap and easy. Besides, YL runs in Unity, which the Switch supports, so that should make it even easier (in theory).
Finally we can get Melee HD
Finally we can get Melee HD
I'd like to see Melee HD happen, but with significant rebalancing to make the community self-destruct.
[editline]8th November 2016[/editline]
I imagine a Melee HD would use PAL's slightly difference balancing though.
I think Sunshine would look amazing with some HD graphics.

60 FPS, models refined to not be so polygonal, and no bullshit bloom or filter crap.
That'd be pretty great.
TPHD didnt look that much better and even stuttered in areas so my faith in those guys is limited. Nintendo should handle a Sunshine HD since Wind Waker was pretty good.

...And most importantly, air dodging that doesn't move your character if its momentum stops at the ground. :v:
READY FOR MARIO KART DOUBLE DASH HD PORT!?
It'd make a lot more sense to just add a double dash mode to MK8

It still amazes me that the Wii could handle the areas with no FPS drops that the WiiU can't.
They didn't even change the fog at all.
Super Mario Sunshine seems like the obvious Gamecube game to port next. I guess they could do Luigi's Mansion? Maybe even something like F-Zero GX?
Gamecube Player's Choice Collection please.
I would be ok with either Sunshine or Thousand Year Door
I think Sunshine would look amazing with some HD graphics.
Think about the water effects...
Sunshine HD would make the most sense, as it's core art style would still look great and the additions to it would only enhance it. Basically, just a repeat of WWHD.
Other than that, I can't think of any other game. Maybe a Metroid Prime HD so Nintendo could test the waters to see if people still want a Metroid game (the obvious answer being "FUCKING YES PLEASE, JUST MAKE IT GOOD").
Speaking of Prime, now that the dust is settled, what are people's opinions on FF? I haven't gotten around to getting the full game yet, but I really enjoyed the training mode in the demo, plus the Wii comp of Trilogy is my favorite game of all time, so...
