I just noticed that the M on his hat actually looks like a patch now. How long until we get ultra realistic Mario like in those old cartoon photoshops?

It seems like they're going for more of a clay aesthetic with his hair/mustache/eyebrows.

Nintendo now has a mobile only Youtube channel. They put up a trailer for Super Mario Run. Going off from the future here, I'm planning on buying a GBA and I was wondering how bad the screen is? I know the GB SP fixed this but I also know it doesn't have a headphone jack which is a real downer for me. Is the difference between the two that noticeable?

Frankly I love the current 3D designs of all the major Mario characters. The warmer-toned shaders they're using for all of their current 3D renders looks so much more natural and gives off a more lively appearance. i've been playing Dragon Quest Builders on PS4 and if they ever make a sequel or a port I think it would fit well on the Switch.
