What are some good co-op games on the Wii U besides Hyrule Warriors, 3D World, and the various obvious multiplayer games?
Preferably ones that aren't 2d platformers like Legends or Tropical Freeze, the last time I tried playing DKC Returns on the Wii with somebody it was a relationship-destroying experience.
Bayonetta 2's co-op is the shit.
My launch day wii still works... but is making strange noises now.
Might be a problem with the disk drive. Mine made strange noises for a while, which originated from the disk drive slowly dieing (which made for some strange-ass glitches during the beginning of my Skyward Sword playtrough).
Eventually Skyward Sword crashed and it wouldn't read disks anymore. Luckily we could bring it to a local Nintendo office to replace to disk drive, and now it works like a charm again.
I got my Wii when Wii Sport Resort got released and they did the Black Wii bundle with both Wii Sport title and the Wii Motion Plus (The one you have to plug in). Still works like a charm.
My Wii's disc drive doesn't read discs anymore. It likely has to do with being in the same room as a wood stove for several years. I should probably send it in to Nintendo but I keep putting it off.
Wonderful 101 is a Nintendo property outright. Platinum created it, but Nintendo owns the IP. Bayonetta is still technically SEGA.
Wait what, Wonderful 101 is Nintendo's? I could have though that it was Platinum's.
Damn paper mario color splash is a lot of fun, so much better than sticker star.

I think it's essentially co-owned, like a lot of things between Rare and Nintendo were.
One day BootMii just stopped showing up when I boot my '06 Wii. The Wii's 100% operational, it's just BootMii's gone...?

I'm willing to give Paper Mario Color Splash a shot.
But not for 60 USD. I'm gonna wait for the price drop in 3 years.
Project AM2R and Pokemon Uranium have been removed from the Game Awards "Best Fan Creation" category.

I hope Nintendo gets a shit talk for this like Konami did when they didn't let Kojima accept his own reward last year.
Isn't Nintendo a sponsor of the Game Awards? Seems like a combination of Nintendo being Nintendo and a possible conflict of interest,
A2MR deserves the award, Uranium does not. I wish Nintendo would let it go already.
Nintendo needs to be more like SEGA. SEGA didn't gave fan projects a C&D, they actually encourage them, and some pretty much hire them and make it their own, like what happened with the Sonic CD smartphone port. Sonic Mania is also pretty much a official Sonic fan-game fully endorsed my SEGA.

Sega spent the better part of the last decade tumbling about with Sonic, releasing games, when at their best, to mixed reviews. At that point it's clear the fans know where the games need to be heading that point, and it makes financial sense to just hire them at that point. I could probably say the same about A2MR, but will definitely disagree with Uranium.

Don't say that Sega is completely innocent in this degree either. Streets of Rage Remake was approved for release by Sega for a good long time, only to get C&D'd shortly after it came out because Sega was going to re-release the SoR games on digital services and SoRR essentially contained all three games and then some in terms of overall content for free.
I wonder why they have such a problem with fan-games. I get why they hit Project M, because that was a mod of an existing game on official Nintendo hardware which made use of a similar kind of exploit to the ones that originally enabled Wii homebrew (and by extension widespread piracy; not that I have anything against homebrew but I understand why Nintendo would.)
Pokémon Uranium and AM2R, though? They're completely original creations built from the ground up for PC. They involve no existing assets or Nintendo hardware and are merely based on Nintendo franchises like hundreds of other Nintendo fan-games out there. Why go after them? That kind of precedent makes me worry for MOTHER 4.
Pokemon Uranium used existing Pokemon sprites
Ah, well I stand corrected there. AM2R, though? That was completely from scratch. You could argue that it essentially created a free, improved version of a game Nintendo still sells via Virtual Console, but we have stuff like Mari0 or Super Mario Bros. Crossover that were never hit despite containing the entirety of SMB1 and more.
Bought Star Rush, and I was rather pleasantly surprised. I don't like the initial toad mode you can start playing with, but some of the easily unlocked modes are actually rather enjoyable, like Coin Rush. Still a flop in some ways, but not bad for a portable mario party.
I would imagine that the reasoning is different for each.
-Project M (although not confirmed) likely due to memorbilia profit (even though NIntendo doesn't technically own the term "Project M") and tournament pot profit off of an unlicensed Nintendo product using a homebrew exploit
-Pokemon Uranium because they decided that releasing before Sun & Moon was a good idea instead of releasing it after Gen 7 hype toned down post-release, which gave them a ton of attention from people looking for official Pokemon titles and the fangame did have the name in the title, thus potentially causing confusion to the average player about the officialness of it (if you think this is impossible, you'd be surprised, as there were people that even asked if PM and SM64 Last Impact were made by Nintendo in several video comment sections because not everyone is aware that fans can be that good at it)
-AM2R because it's technically a remake of a game they still sell digitally
Very few fan remakes have gotten away with not being C&D'd, yet most hacks (even those released directly as ROMs instead of patches, similarly, while PM may have been hit, Brawl- has not despite being easily the second most-popular mod and using the same exploit to initiate via hackless), fangames that aren't making profit (i.e. Super Smash Bros Crusade and Super Smash Bros Flash 2 get a ton of attention, but neither has been hit, nor has Super Smash Land despite Rivals of Aether being made by the same people and even including a level from Smash Land (although said level was entirely new in Smash Land, anyway))
Also worth mentioning that they have not tried to take down Newer Super Mario Bros Wii, despite that one outright requiring homebrew and having several videos on YouTube showing the hack with several million views (Project M by comparison actually got less attention on YouTube) or any of the notable SMW or SM64 hacks, and that most Pokemon fangames and hacks (including notable ones like Pokemon Shodown and the blatantly hacked Twitch Plays Pokemon series, which is modified to function with a bot and even has done both several full game hacks and team edits) have not been touched.

Hey I'm looking to get a controller grip for my 3DS XL, can anyone recommend a good one? Preferably one that doesn't cover the faceplate.

I'd recommend getting a circle pad pro (XL version). Functionality and grip all in one.
It's 12 dollars on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B009LGO88E/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awdb_Q-Zmyb47S066E

Hopefully this means it'll get an eShop release soon, just like the trilogy did. I'd love to replay this.
I'm still mad over that one time I found an used Apollo Justice for 10 bucks but instead it was Justice For All
