I think it's kinda nice having the figure have a function other than just aesthetic. It's not like they give access to anything significant.
We still haven't seen what the Breath of the Wild amiibos will do.
I have 2 amibos
me too [t]http://jesusfuck.me/di/T4J4/thumbnail-img-3469.jpg[/t][t]http://jesusfuck.me/di/ZDDN/thumbnail-img-3470.jpg[/t][t]http://jesusfuck.me/di/J0KO/thumbnail-img-3471.jpg[/t]

Good tastes all around, sir. Also god damnit I STILL can't find King Dedede amiibos anywhere around here. I've just resorted to ordering him for offline next time I get the chance.

I walked 4 miles to get mine (as well as Ness) around a year ago when they did a small restock at Gamestop. I got sunburn on my neck that day lol. Never see it anywhere anymore, but Ness is at Toys R Us frequently.
Any of them. I just want to clobber dat dere kirbeh, but nooo. Nobody ever has them in stock.
I think it would be great if the occasional Amiibos granted DLC but you could also just buy the DLC on its own
I think it would be great if the occasional Amiibos granted DLC but you could also just buy the DLC on its own
Very much this. I'm so tired of exclusive content being tied to 'em
Interesting stuff on why it's not being released outside of Japan. Still waiting on Miles Edgeworth: Ace Attorney Investigations 2 though.
Meaningful content (ie stuff that changes gameplay) should be unlockable in-game. Cosmetic stuff or things that only really work in the context of Amiibo (ie Smash partners) can stay Amiibo only. Speaking of which, I hope they release an app allows you to copy the data an Amiibo currently has so you can play a different game that requires saving data. It's nonsense that an Amiibo can only save data for one game, it hurts the whole "one amiibo can be used with A L L T H E S E G A M E S ! ! !" angle they're after (Especially when some like Little Mac have no non-Smash uses). IN OTHER NEWS. Happy International Release to Xenoblade X!!! I 100% the game (including achievements) in around February and the solid week I spent playing it was pretty great. Just getting stuck into sidequests and eating lots of pizza while little chipmunk voiced aliens eat lots of pizza. Hopefully Monolith Soft have something of their own planned for the Switch.

Cause I'm not going through all that again. I'm already having a hard time doing so in Hyrule Warriors Legends...
me too [t]http://jesusfuck.me/di/J0KO/thumbnail-img-3471.jpg[/t]
Pop figures are the worst. They're so bland and it's depressing to see every goddamn store have enormous walls of them. They're so barren and generic and the only appeal seems to be that they cover so much ground that you can say "look, i have a figure of x" even if it only barely resembles the character. It's more like a vague representation of the character than an actual figure of them. They aren't even cheaper than something like an Amiibo. I'm not going to bitch at you for having it or anything but I can't understand the appeal of them. I don't like SD to begin with but at least stuff like Nendoroids have a reasonable amount of detail on them, even if they're completely overpriced. It bugs me to see half of a local EB Games get refitted to sell the same homogenised merch of a few mainstream franchises as every other ~geek culture~ store.
Yeah, I hate the pop figures too. I stick with Nendoroids. Sure they're mostly focus on japanese culture, but the Nintendo ones... [T]http://images.goodsmile.info/cgm/images/product/20150828/5207/35313/original/39daefb890b9b72da0a6e461cdc865d7.jpg[/T] Fucking awesome! I have this one and it's fully magnetic! Really good figure!
I'm not a figure kind of guy, but boy does the Link Between Worlds Figma tempt me. This thing is beautiful. Plus it's close to Oracle Link which is my favourite Link design.

Notice how I only have three Pops while I have 100 or so amiibos. :v:

I love everything about this Link. The proportions between him and his items are perfect. Master Sword is actually a proper one-handed sword and not a longsword like in TP or SS. Such a shame Toon Link still gets the spotlight for the "young/teen Link", especially when Triforce Heroes was a sequel to Between Worlds. ALBW Link design would have made TH's team stand out to Four Sword's team even more then it is now, especially after everyone was asking "where's Purple?". He also has the classic vibe going for him, with the outfit and the color palette. I hope to see more of him in future handhelds. Or this scrapped version: [t]http://static.gamespot.com/uploads/original/mig/2/9/6/0/2042960-711412_20130611_001.jpg[/t]

I want a figure of this design but I'm not gonna pose him, I just want him to sit next to my computer and look cool. Same reason I like amiibos.

Personally I don't mind it because I like posing them but I could understand someone being put off by them.

What you're thinking of is action figures, which have movable joints. Figurines don't.
at the end of the day i just don't see the value in them. they feel exactly like pop vinyls. there's heaps of them, they're not that detailed, they feel cheap, they don't move, they're just really boring. they're nfc chips with a cheap mini statue on top that barely serve a purpose. [editline]4th December 2016[/editline]
What you're thinking of is action figures, which have movable joints. Figurines don't.
this is a dumb semantics argument but you'd call all the poseable anime ones figurines and not action figures. i've never seen a modern, high quality, poseable figurine called an action figure, by anybody.
There seems to be a weather forecast system in the new Zelda game.
What you're thinking of is action figures, which have movable joints. Figurines don't.
Action figures are dolls for boys, and technically, they don't need to be poseable. Earliest toys were small statues, depicting things like gladiators.
I don't fucking know anymore they're all toys aight?
Beat color splash, best paper mario since ttyd even if that isn't saying much.
Was at Best Buy today and just so happened to come across this by chance: [t]https://pbs.twimg.com/media/Cy2_uFlUkAA5LTp.jpg:large[/t]
Amiibos giving small optional bonuses is fine and all, but I will never not be salty that Shovel Knight's co op mode is only on the WiiU version and locked behind an amiibo.
Amiibos giving small optional bonuses is fine and all, but I will never not be salty that Shovel Knight's co op mode is only on the WiiU version and locked behind an amiibo.
Shovel Knight is the one the two extremes towards how I feel about DLC. Sure they've come out with one of the best dlc expansions any game has ever gotten, for free no less and with another one on the way, but at the same time their three other bonus features are split between three different consoles, with one that should really just be a standard feature being locked behind a figure.
Wow the new Zelda looks fun. That's a cool one
