Probably not what it will end up being, but it'd be sorta hilarious if they rode the excitement for Yooka-Laylee and added more collectathon elements to Mario.
I just want another Mario 64 or Sunshine with no space gimmicks.
Well, from this article, Nintendo might have something awesome coming up as a Mario release title, which would really help with the NX.
I'm just hoping it's a more open-world 120-star platformer, as opposed to the style of gameplay 3D World had going for it. More open than Galaxy, more expansive than 64, and more connected than Sunshine. It'd be cool if they re-introduced something like FLUDD, but not a tool that's constantly attached, just readily available like power-ups are.
I would love to see another Mario 64-like game.
I have a feeling whenever they show us what the NX is, they will give us a little look or clue what the Mario game will be. With Mario Maker out I'm also kinda curious what the new 2d Mario will look like.
I just hope that if they do make another 3d open world Mario game, they make the power-ups more like how they were in 3D Land and 3D World where they felt like they were an extension of Mario's abilities, and not like how they were in Mario 64/Mario Sunshine/Mario Galaxy 1&2 where a lot of the power-ups felt really situational.
He probably meant they're making a "New" kind of Mario game
He probably meant they're making a "New" kind of Mario game
Lemme stop you right there Satan
Paper mario colour splash would have worked better as a Mario Sunshine sequel. [editline]18th June 2016[/editline] the concept of it I mean
I would love another game like Sunshine. I loved how open world the levels seemed.
While the last thing i want Nintendo to do is recycle more Mario games, i think a neat side project for them would be a full remaster of Super Mario 64. It's not a surprise that an N64 game would look pretty terrible today, and obviously the graphics aren't the main draw here, but man, that game could use some work. Some of the textures look lazily thrown around and a lot of the stages are geometrical mishmashes without much cohesion. Now Super Mario Sunshine looks great, and still does, as do the Mario Galaxy games. I think a serious overhaul of 64 could look amazing, especially if the stages were no longer confined to arbitrary pits, invisible walls, and floating islands, but part of a larger environment. Like Bob-omb Battlefield being an actual field in the middle of a frontline, or Wet Dry World being part of a larger town on the coastline, like the background art seems to imply.
Apparently they helped out with Skyward Sword, didn't know that. [editline]18th June 2016[/editline] Any new information?
Here's what I picked up which I don't remember seeing before The lizard he picks up near the start increases your move speed when cooked with other stuff, safe to say food is for far more than just health. I'm pretty sure there are other ingredients for heat/cold resistance shown in other footage. Those large tower things aren't in the world initially but they appear once the player activates something. The towers change from orange to blue once you've climbed them. Not sure what it achieves, could be to reveal the map, might alter enemy presence, who knows. Strange metal boulder at 8:50 they don't acknowledge but do look at with the camera The loadscreen when they enter the shrine mentions a "bottomless bog" area: "a quagmire will draw you in, sink too deeply and you'll be unable to escape". More an insight to a specific area and the danger to be found there. More than 100 shrines to be found in the game. (describes as "bitesize puzzles or challenges then full dungeons" shield surfing can break your shield On a side note, I'm sure theres a "lump" on the left side of death mountain (mountain with the clouds/smoke above) that is moving, since the plateau is always going to see it from the same side. Look at it at 6:13 and again at 9:00, theres suddenly a lump half way up it, if thats an enemy then its bloody huge. alternatively it might be biggoron seen in OoT or minish cap who was probably about that size. Quoting video again since I didn't realize its on another page
It's new footage that came out today.

I think Nintendo has a system seller. [vid]https://giant.gfycat.com/CarefreeDependentIndianrockpython.webm[/vid]
last time i saw someone this enthusiastic about a video game was the 6 hour line wait for skyrim at pax prime 2011
I bought Robobot this morning and thought "I'll probably put in a couple hours in today" 6 hours later, I'm at 71%- damn that main game is good.
[sp]I have just beaten true arena after four days of hell with ESP/Hammer[/sp] I just got my 100% from that and i can finally focus on other things because that made me so mad.
nintendo pls upload zelda e3 demo to eshop
Since they were talkig about Link changing the world. I wonder if the game's plot revolves around reviving the people and towns of Hyrule. That's why the world is so broken and desolate because by the end the kingdom and its surroundings will be fully realized for the next Zelda game.

Sadly, yes.
I finished Robobot's story. AAAAAH! The finale was awesome! I hope they keep topping themselves with each game while keeping it quite connected. It's great!
Are e-shop purchases still tied to the system? I wanna get that there Rhythm Heaven but I also foresee myself buying a New 3DS soon.
Are e-shop purchases still tied to the system? This moves all your on-disc data and Nintendo ID to the new device, so if you downloaded stuff like Flipnote, you'd still have that.
Nice, thanks.
This video might be better, actually. But yeah, make sure you don't create a Nintendo ID on the new system, since that fucks you over.
Are the e reader levels good enough to justify buying just advance 4 over the ordinary SMB3 and world?
Are the e reader levels good enough to justify buying just advance 4 over the ordinary SMB3 and world?
Yes. They're some of the best-designed levels Nintendo has put out in a 2D Mario platformer, and some of them approach The Lost Levels in terms of difficulty. You can also beat them in any order. There are 38 levels in total, which is more than either SMB1 or SMB 2 (USA) have, period.
Are the e reader levels good enough to justify buying just advance 4 over the ordinary SMB3 and world?
over SMB3 sure. not sure why you mention world though.

Had no idea; feel like I missed out.
over SMB3 sure. not sure why you mention world though.
Because of the 5th year anniversary sale, SMB3 and world are on sale for about as much as Advance 4 which is not.
While I'm not a huge fan of the Witcher series it's pretty interesting to see how excited CD Projekt Red is for the NX. http://www.nintengen.com/2016/06/cd-projekt-red-nx-will-be-fantastic.html?m=1 The website's layout is pretty crappy, but it's the only translation of the video interview afaik
