It's weird because in the same article he keeps saying that they expect the NX to make up for the Wii U's poor sales. It also seems more of a "we have to make sure we actually advertise this thing" and not "the concept is going to be hard to sell to people"
nintendo is probably worried that people are building up too much hype over nx and that they'll be let down when we see the specs
It also seems more of a "we have to make sure we actually advertise this thing" and not "the concept is going to be hard to sell to people"
Wow. Imagine if they figured that out four years ago.
I like the Nintendo consoles solely for the free online. With any other console, I feel pressured into spending as much of my time on them because of the online membership coming with a cost.
The free online is definitely a great feature Nintendo consoles have, and it's cool how they have their own type of rewards system (MyNintendo) that you can sign up to without paying a subscription. However, on the topic of subscriptions- do the companies (Sony, Microsoft) use the subscription money to help developers maintain their online game servers, or is it mainly for profit?
Profit and maintaining their own servers afaik
Oof. One thing I hate is when you get a high score in something and then it doesn't save because you quit instead of failed. Just got off a half-hour run of Trick Challenge mode in the WiiWare game ThruSpace. While standard Endless constantly increases in speed, the thing is that Trick Challenge always remains a fairly slow-paced mode and instead slowly ramps up in complexity, but once you hit Lv31 the game runs out of more complex walls to throw at you and starts over from the beginning. So after zoning out for another 20 levels and quitting at the start of Lv51, I find out my new high score of 55 million wasn't saved and it went back to my old 21M high score. Boo. That said, I don't think the game ever expected anyone to get through more than 300 walls at a time. Combo callouts stop at 300, and you hit the seventh and final background/music at Lv31 (every level is ten walls and the theme changes every five levels.)
Welp. I fucking died to the desperation attack in final boss of the true arena. I saw the telegraph and yet I still ran directly into it. :facemelt:
Looks like Pokemon Go is being rolled out at the moment.
Color Splash Playtests are undergoing and "playtesters are crying at how the game ends." Exact words: "We've done some play tests, and there were quite a few people who cried at the end," she told me. "One hopes those will be tears of empathy for the characters, familiar as they may be, rather than tears of bitter fan betrayal."

Then again, from the same article
I don't know if Color Splash will be able to win back fans who were soured by Sticker Star; personally, I found that game's restrictions and its greater emphasis on player agency interesting
Player Agency isn't something I think about when I think of SS
they're probably crying because at the end of the game it unlocks ng+ and their playtest isn't over.
they're probably crying because at the end of the game it unlocks ng+ and their playtest isn't over.
You know, the game might actually be good instead of "it will be 100% bad ever since it was revealed no takebacks". Form your own opinions, don't just parrot canned talking lines.
i'm sorry, just wanted to attempt a funny. i honestly don't take the paper mario series too much to heart and would probably enjoy any as much as the other.
You know, the game might actually be good instead of "it will be 100% bad ever since it was revealed no takebacks". Form your own opinions, don't just parrot canned talking lines.
To be fair the only good thing they've really shown so far is the art style and even then it's somewhat clunky due to the white borders and awful walk cycles and whatnot. [editline]6th July 2016[/editline] Actually something I see absolutely no one mentioning that might be a little comforting is a new NPC A snifit buddy

http://www.nintendolife.com/news/2016/07/patent_reinforces_the_prospect_of_nintendo_nx_having_a_portable_handset Another new Nintendo patent. [t]http://i.imgur.com/DyaNV5y.jpg[/t] This time for a single screen 2DS.
Call it a Game Boy and partner it with a Game Dude.
Wait a minute... that looks nothing like a toad, why can I talk to it?
Probably it's just a toad disguised.
This could finally be our ticket to playing 3ds games on 3d televisions. I want to believe
With the resolution those games run at I would rather not have that be a thing.
Probably it's just a toad disguised.
But toad's can't look anything other than they way they are! Paper Mario's never featured alternate toads; that's ludicrous.
I hope it turns out This has at least a good writing again. Also If you didn't know the Gamergate References has been removed, (I think Nintendo forced the treehouse to re-write it)

Also If you didn't know the Gamergate References has been removed, (I think Nintendo forced the treehouse to re-write it)
Did they just remove the word Shufflegate or did they remove all the jokes relating to the Watergate scandal? Also do you have a source?
Meh, usually the character cars range from pretty terrible to okay, theses aren't bad. Making Yoshi a towtruck is pretty creative. Find them in August.

Also If you didn't know the Gamergate References has been removed, (I think Nintendo forced the treehouse to re-write it)
I don't think it was rewritten. They just said "We're sorry you think the world revolves around you." in the nicest way possible.
Meh, usually the character cars range from pretty terrible to okay, theses aren't bad.
Not as worse as these. [t]http://cdn.nintendonews.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/mattel_mario_hot_wheels_october_2015-700x574.jpg[/t]
Not to dwell on the Zoe Quinn stuff but it's funny how back when the "Shufflegate" joke was first shown, people complained about how Treehouse is a bunch of memers (which I don't necessarily disagree but whatever) and Sift got dumbed for suggesting it was just a Watergate reference and then when Quinn complained everyone was like "well duh it's a reference to watergate, idiot"

[t]http://cdn.nintendonews.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/mattel_mario_hot_wheels_october_2015-700x574.jpg[/t]
From a collector perspective the Mario World, SMB, and Mario 3 cars are all huge collectors items, which means they left stores quickly. It was the other three that were kinda crap and just sat. [t]http://www.hotwheels.com/en-us/Images/DHT14_Cool_One_tcm838-240804_w671.png[/t] I don't know if Nintendo picked out the cars they wanted or Mattel chose them, but them seem to have a thing for the hot rod ice cream truck. :v:

Seriously, it's based off the book Watergate : Exposed which featured 5 criminals and trashed Nixon's career (I mean the title, watergate is totally a thing). It's clearly playing off that and they use funguy as a pun all the time in mario party The fact they call it Shufflegate : Exposed should of been the clear give-away. E: I probably could of worded that better. Just work with me.
