And I find it funny you used souls for the comparison there, how many people do you think got PS4's just for Bloodborne?
You mean after Souls was extremely popular and BB was the first next-gen game from From and both main consoles were relatively recently released and still on the low side as far as games?
Plus, PS4 v Xbone v PC is a different situation than any of those vs. WiiU. A huge portion of the XB and PS game libraries are shared between the two, and quite a bit of those are on PC. That is definitely not the case for the WiiU.
If you're not interested in cartoony first-party Nintendo properties, you're pretty shit out of luck as far as third-party triple-A titles go. Meanwhile, if you're not interested in Halo, GoW, Forza, or any of the other XBone exclusives, you're not exactly missing out by buying a PS4, because 90% of the games on an XBone are also on there. If I were to buy a WiiU and I didn't care about Mario, Zelda, Donkey Kong, or other games of that nature, what would I be playing? You've got some games like CoD: Ghosts, Deus Ex: Human Revolution, Mass Effect 3, Batman: Arkham City, and NFS Most Wanted which are actual third-party triple-A games that you've got on other consoles, then you've got exclusives like ZombiU (which eventually came to other platforms anyway, albeit years after release) and Bayonetta 2, and there's some other big indie games like Terraria, Minecraft, and Shovel Knight. Now count how many of these are available on other, cheaper, last-gen consoles that everyone already owns with larger game libraries. All but two, and one of those two is currently released on current-gen consoles.
The PS4 was always guaranteed to succeed so it should come as no surprise that Bloodborne would sway people to buy one, but the WiiU never had that kind of good faith backing it and I sincerely doubt that releasing one exclusive on it would pull in anything near as much as Bloodborne did.
If you can show me a graph from somewhere reputable with a huge spike in WiiU sales after the release or announcement of Bayonetta 2 (because that's probably the closest you're going to a "releasing Bloodborne but exclusive to WiiU instead" situation) then I'll take back most of what I said, but I don't see any sort of BloodborneU working out nearly as good as Bloodborne did.
that seems pretty niche to me
Yes a cheap plug-n-play that 1.) makes a good gift for parents who grew up with an NES, 2.) provides easy, cheaper access to the games than buying a 3DS or WiiU and Virtual Console versions of the games for $5 each, and 3.) will most likely be pretty easily modded to run other roms that aren't pre-loaded is so incredibly niche I can't imagine who would want one.
Looks like they added a second round of Disney (including Pixar movies such as Monsters Inc and Toy Story) 3DS themes:

Is that....A Winnie The Pooh one? Give me a US release date NOW.
Nothing excites me more than listening to the Monsters, Inc. Theme. I hope they get a release date here, it's been a while since I bought a DS theme.
I want to be there

Aw man you got me all excited that it was the full versions of the songs.

Nintendo is gonna announce new games.
NX is supposed to be shown off in September as well. Maybe it'll be there?

If the rumor is true, I can see them revealing it first in some Direct-type thing a few days earlier and then show off some more games at that expo.
Just checked the theme shop and it seems those Disney ones are out now.
30 years ago today, Metroid was released in Japan on the Famicom Disk System.
Beat Professor Layton and the curious village and I absolutely loved it. So glad I have 5 more games to play still.
Shame you can't unlock the weekly puzzles for the ds games anymore tho because nintendo killed the servers 2 years ago.

Heads up guys, we got about 5 and a half hours til AM2R is released.

Hard to believe, after almost 8 years, it's finally coming out.
How convenient, August 6th 1986 was when the first Metroid was released.

FYI as far as I know all of the Professor Layton weekly puzzles are on-cartridge DLC and thus can be accessed via Action Replay.
Yeah I realized. I'll probably buy one next time I order games from Amazon.
It's been a while since Nintendo has added content to Mario Maker.
I'm starting to believe that we won't get any new stuff to revive the game. There's just so many elements missing to this game that should have been here from the start. And i'm not just talking about slopes.
AM2R is out, downloading it right now

Well, time to start all over again with the new save system. :hammered:

Wait a fucking second
Wait a fucking second
Okay stick with me here. At the end of Galaxy 2 after you beat Bowser and the credits roll you can run and jump around and whatnot- what's most interesting though is one scene has a very tiny Bowser that you can bop and flip around and whatever. I always thought this was kind of odd.
In Galaxy 1 when Rosalina saves Mario she's fucking huge for some reason and Mario is tiny baby man in front of her.
What I'm trying to say is what if everyone is piloting a mech that looks like themselves in the Galaxy games. That's why Mario can "breathe" in space. His head isn't shrinking in this animation, it's fired off and Mario is climbing out of it to try and escape.
Oh my god

Isn't Rosalina like 10 feet tall and also considered a heavyweight in most games?
I think you're on to something.
