Shrinking limbs and heads in order to prevent them from appearing is actually really common in game design because it is a case of "if it ain't broke, don't fix it". Still hilarious though. TF2 does this for decapitations, while Brawl and Smash 4 do it when Wario is biting someone.
Speaking of Rosalina, I had a dream lately she got her own platformer for the 3DS and it was the closest we've gotten to a Galaxy 3. I can't remember much else, but I do remember that no one really thought it was weird she was getting her own game.
It's space proof not water proof okay
Can anyone who's been playing the AM2R give me some help? I seem to be stuck I can't see to figure out how to get to the areas I've marked with red arrows, and I'm pretty sure that's where the last Metroid in the area is before I can progress. I've been running around for like 20m trying to figure it out and I just can't seem to.

It should be underwater since you haven't been there yet. Its blocked off by a large pump which looks like part of the environment, you can bomb it to progress. Basically go underwater one square to the left and one down, and blow up the large machine on the right. Everything after that is straight forward.

I found that pump before, and shot at it, but it made a tinking sound so I assumed I needed like super missiles or something to break it.

All they had to do was model necks for all playable classes, then do like they did with L4D1 Infected: make the "decapitated" model a bodygroup... except this'd require the same amount of effort to update the HWM models. But then again, Valve's somewhat infamous for being lazy at times.
I've just finished the area where you get the Gravity Suit in AM2R. I saw the earthquake signalling me to go to a new area, but I can't find it anywhere. I keep getting blocked by the jelly where I still have to explore. I vaguely remember those grey chozo devices scattered around that accept the orbs, but I don't know where to go next.

The boss battle you have to get the Space Jump to get to is, well, fuck. Unexpected, and really something.
I've been working on trying to 100% this since it came out earlier, and wow there are a lot of collectibles. Does anyone know exactly how many of each collectible there are yet? The developer of AM2R should be proud of himself because his game feels like an authentic Metroid title.
I feel AM2R's difficulty has been just right so far. Haven't died yet but my first [sp]Zeta Metroid[/SP] fight nearly ended me Been a lot of surprises throughout this game though. The creator should be proud
Are you playing on Hard? because it's really, really hard.
Normal. I'll have to give it a hard run later, I just beat it and the boss battle after getting the [sp]ice beam surprised me, if only because I didn't expect to see that boss or hear its theme again[/sp] The new content and areas that were added for the remake were all excellent, this guy managed to crank out a game that's on par with the other Metroid games.

I love the music especially, but the updated graphics are seamless and beautiful. The dark sections that are lit only by the glowing of your suit, the spore lamps, your beam weapons, and the Gamma Metroid's lightning attack are eerie and wonderful. To anyone else playing, too, I could use some pointers, by the way. i'm not sure what the easiest path is from here: [t]http://i.imgur.com/Wr2btVi.png[/t] [sp]I've got 70 missiles, 1 super missile, and 4 energy tanks. Got the Varia Suit, Space Jump, Spazer Beam, Hi-Jump Boots, Boost Dash, Spider Ball, and Spring Ball. In the deep blue area is lava that prevents me from going down any farther. The room I'm in is a corridor with floating spike robots and magma fountains and seemingly no exit to the left--i'm guessing it'll open once i kill the last few Metroids here. At the top right corner of the massive cerulean chamber is a barricade for Super Missiles, which i have, but immediately after is a Power Bomb wall, and i don't have that upgrade yet. 6 spaces down and 5 spaces left from my position is the beginning of an area where i've been trying to kill the next Gamma Metroid, but in between it and the save station are at least 5 floating spike robots that leave me with barely one energy tank, and the Metroid is in a magma chamber that makes it really tough to dodge. I'm guessing there must be another way to go right now in order to unlock the areas with the remaining other two Metroids, or that i need to be in another sector entirely.[/sp]

The previous area also has the wave beam which might help with the spike robots if you missed it. You can also kill the spike robots with a single super missile and the gamma metroids with two super missiles.[/sp]
Are you playing on Hard? because it's really, really hard.
I'm a big fuccboi so I went straight for hardmode for my first playthough. AM2R has been making a filet out of my ass. It's [sp]pretty great.[/sp] Makes you actually apprehensive about facing even basic metroids, especially the motherfuckers that dodge.
Days like these makes me sad that I only have a Mac and can't play it.
AM2R is kicking my ass, but damn that atmosphere though
Breaking up metroid talk because this has to be mentioned. If you go to the Kirby cafe alone the staff bring out a waddle dee to sit with you and be your friend. [t]https://pbs.twimg.com/media/CpJiZatXEAAElGv.jpg:large[/t]

Annnnnnd apparently, AM2R already got hit by a CnD from Nintendo.
I just read that AM2R got dmca'd
https://twitter.com/MetroidDatabase/status/762432458641936388 It's true, apparently. Amazed it took them this long, to be honest
Proof Ack, beat me to it
From what I am hearing, it's only targetting Metroid Database and not the original site for some reason AND the alleged lawyer is not listed as an employee for Nintendo anywhere, meaning it might be a troll or person trying to slander Nintendo scaring a fan site into removing downloads.

this kinda stuff has happened before.
Nintendo should hire the guys that made the remake. They clearly care more about the franchise than Nintendo does.
Nintendo can actually go fuck itself if this is really them.
