General Nintendo Discussion V5 - The Future of Nintendo
Why is this suddenly popping up in articles again? We've known this for ages, right down to the "Pokemon Conquest was why it was shelved".
Which is a shame too, i wouldn't have complained if the Pokemon portion of the crossover were limited to the Humans. maybe most Pokemon would be fodder and some Pokemon would be unique. have the game be somewhat of a dream and ride on the popularity of the Gen 1 gym leaders and some of the less popular Gen 2's. a near-emotionless vampy Sabrina would be their Tharja, whilst Chuck and Janine could get some popularity.
Maybe they just couldn't figure out how to add in breeding elements since that's Fire Emblem's "thing" now. with the whole emphasis on Z-rings in Sun/Moon, if they eventually did a crossover, at least some Pokemon could be more like equippable allies for critical attacks/summons. they could just have each human have a signiture Pokemon that's compatible but then have the Pokemon breed for the sake of getting alternate evolution paths.
Timeline could just be a composite of just before the events of G/S, between gens 1/2 and also before R/B, so..
• Falkner and his father are still considered gym leaders. (his father takes the spot as the early game OP character who saps XP and goes out of action)
• the Fighting Dojo guy has a Machoke, but left to train after Sabrina takes his spot. (indirectly, Sabrina is in her old clothes/persona)
• Jasmine starts off as shy, but becomes scared the moment Onix evolves, prompting a character arc. (Minion master/dancer, upgrades to a Poke-Knight, Steelix form)
• Giovanni is in his Team Rocket persona, but has slightly more humanity. (Noble, but obviously a Dark Mage/Warlock)
• Professor Oak having canonical teams.
then you actually fight a native from their world, maybe just their version of Red...who's aftergame battle has Mega Charizard Y then gets bumrushed by Original!Red's Mega Charizard X. sounds like a bad fanfiction if i think about it.
Speaking of Virtual Console, if the hybrid rumor is true about the NX then we could possibly see a huge selection of Virtual Console games. NES, SNES, Game Boy + Color/Advance, N64, maybe Genesis, PC-Engine, Gamecube... however judging from how crap they handled the Wii U's selection I'm not so sure.
If they really want the NX to have a lot of games on launch, I would not be surprised if they had a ton of Virtual Console games at the ready- especially if they do the whole "buy them now, never have to buy them again" shtick.
On a related note, is it bad that I blame every failure of the Wii U on the NX? Not gamewise, like Star Fox Zero, but internally- the lack of games, the lack of meaningful updates, the lack of virtual console games, all of it I see and go "Yeah, that's cause they abandoned the Wii U. They'll get better for the NX." Am I wrong, is Nintendo going to continue to be blind on these things? Or have they shaped up and will change these things on a new leaf? I guess that's just me being eternally hopeful.
Oh man.
The final boss of Federation Force is . . . . . . .
[sp]Samus, who has been made 8 times bigger by the space pirates and proceeds to do nothing but roll around in a ball as a fight. She shrinks down after you defeat her morph ball of doom, although it's clearly not explained why they didn't just . . . . you know . . . . . kill the person that has plagued their existence for years????[/sp]
You literally [sp]celebrate Metroid's anniversary by shooting Samus, who was apparently too weak to escape the mooks of the series[/sp]
[sp]I'm also pretty sure she fucking dies.
You just leave her under a pile of rubble. [/sp]

[sp]She comes back during the 'not Mother Brain' segment.[/sp]

[sp]If there's one thing that FF does well, it's not try to add something to Samus that didn't need to be added- at most, there's "I don't want these dumbass rookies dying right now", and even then that fits well with pre-Fusion Samus. Only makes the part where they back her up at the start of Fusion slightly more bittersweet- maybe it was the same guys![/sp]

Heh.
So about the Grandship subquest in Bravely Second...
[sp]Why did it introduce alternis as if it was our first time seeing him? It was really weird because...umm, yeah, we know this guy. He's a pretty important part of the series. And why didn't he have the little bandage bow that Edea made? It was present in other cutscenes....which leads me to believe it's not the same alternis?
Do both Ringabel and Alternis exist in the same world after the events of the first game?[/sp]
you know what I want
SMT X pokemon
i want to fight off a hoard of demons with a flaaffy or crush a pikachu with an ancient god of death

I'm assuming you just did that quest and haven't done all of the game yet. Play the rest and see if it satisfies.
so i bought fed force and been playing it for a few hours with randos. overall i'm enjoying myself. it's not as bad as i expected it to be, reminds me of triforce heroes in a way (which isn't a bad thing, since i like that game).
[sp] the samus fight irked me as a fan, besides it being overall boring it hurted a litle knowing this is where samus has ended up, as a ball from blastball[/sp]

Mario at the Rio Olympics.
Well that came out of absolutely nowhere.

A friend of mine tweeted about this, and I think this is the official rings?

Either way, congrats on Nintendo for getting Mario so big- apparently their stock went up after they showed up! Expect that to show up again in 4 years.
Turns out all those Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games games really paid off.

Dear pesky plumber mascots, Koopalings (who are not my kids btw) and I have taken over the Tokyo Olympics, the princess is now a permanent quest at one of my seven Koopa Sport events. I dare you beat them all if you can.
We gotta rescue the princess.
And you gotta help us.
If you need instructions on how to compete in the events, check out the electronic instruction booklet.
PS. I'm glad that we're not in Brazil anymore.
Yours truly: King Bowser Koopa.

I've been replaying through Metroid Prime again this past week, and I'm in a bit of a pickle.
I've got 245 missiles, which means I'm missing just 1 expansion, which I've no idea which one it is. I've gone through a walkthrough to help me get the last few ones that I'm needing, but I'm not sure at all which one of them that I'm missing.
Not only that, once I finally manage to find that expansion it will only put me at 99%.
I've got all 14 energy tanks, all beam combos, all artifacts, and all 8 power bombs. The fuck else am I missing.

Did you get the one behind your ship at the beginning of the game? That one and the one in the huge tower in Tallon IV slipped by me.

I got the one behind the ship already. If by huge tower do you mean in the overworld? Where there's a hidden alcove that needs xray to see it, while you're on your way up to the top to open a red door that has another? If so, I've gotten that one already too.
I might have to go through every expansion again 1 by 1 to double check which one I'm missing. And that'll still only put me at 99%. Does the phazon beam at the end boss fight count as a percentage when it activates?

Nah I don't think it does. I had the same problem as you did and needed to find one more missile pack before getting 100%

I'm at 98% while missing this 1 missile expansion. Which means I'm missing 1 more item after that. I've got all energy tanks, power bombs, beam combos, and artifacts. I'm pretty sure. According to the guide I'm looking at the max power bombs you'll get is 8 which is what I'm at, and energy tanks is 14 which I'm also at.
When I go through Prime 2 I'm going to document when and where I got each power up so I don't run into this again :v:.

There's an easy to miss one in the Chozo Ruins. I can't remember exactly where but it's a mostly empty, longish corridor with a turn or two and some foliage. There's a hidden alcove behind some of the greenery near one of the doors.
Just finished Bravely second and wow, what a game. What a series. [sp]Can't wait for Bravely Third: Sword of the Brave :v:[/sp]
Made me think back to when I first tried the BD demo. I pretty much gave up on it for 2 months because I was a moron and didn't take the 5 seconds to fiddle with jobs, leaving me with only freelancers for several hours...I'm so glad I revisited it later and actually learned how the game worked, though.
I'm actually having trouble playing other RPGs. The brave/default/BP system is too good.
