Now, take this and stretch it out to a decade. And instead of "I don't own the console the new game is on" just "They haven't made a new game at all".
And add in a dash of "It's the series' 30th anniversary and its been completely ignored still"

Don't forget to add in a splash of "All we got was a spinoff no one wanted."
Once I heard the ex-Artoon devs were behind the new Pikmin game I kinda lost interest. I expect there to be tons of kazoos that will m̶a̶k̶e̶ ̶o̶u̶r̶ ̶e̶a̶r̶s̶ ̶b̶l̶e̶e̶d̶ win over the gaming masses.

Same goes for Castlevania, though that's not Nintendo. So many indie "metroidvanias" yet no real Metroids or 'Vanias. There's that Bloodstained game, but that's only IGA and none of the Castlevania series' history.

At least Castlevania's co-op multiplayer spin-off was rad though, Harmony of Despair was awesome fun, despite all of its flaws. It took some of the best aspects of the series, the beautiful spritework, the fantastic music, the best, fan-favorite characters, weapon variety, abilities appropriate to each character from their game, some of the best locales, and the levels were still huge, non-linear stages full of secrets and alternate pathways

Yeah but the characters were from the DS games but Harmony of Dispair was on XBLA (and PS3?) which bit me hard.
Heads up it doesn't work that way. Towns are saved to the system itself or something silly like that so if you make a second one and go back to the first town you'll find that it's been deleted.
Happened to me way back when the game first came out
Uhm, no?
One is on the cart and the other is on my system. I still have both towns, I just checked.
I know for a fact that if you have the game physically, data is saved to the cart

Yeah, it was a bit weird that way. Really wish it had ever gotten a PC release, honestly, it deserves it. It basically had characters from all through the series, from NES Simon to RoB Richter and Maria to SotN Alucard, to AoS/DS Soma
When you buy a new 3ds do they still not include a charger, that galaxy one is hella sweet
I'm pretty sure they said that the NX was neither a successor to the Wii U or 3DS.
They said the same thing about the Nintendo DS. Is it a standalone console? Is it more powerful than the Wii U? It's succeeding the Wii U, no matter how they put it.

We actually don't know whether it's more powerful than the Wii U or not. You'd think it would naturally be so, but considering how little we actually know about NX, it could very well be that it sacrifices power in order to achieve its portability and only ends up about on par or even a little weaker than the Wii U. It's not likely and it certainly wouldn't be seen as a smart decision, but there's a very real chance that the Wii U will remain Nintendo's most powerful system even once NX comes out.
Even if it's weaker than the Wii U, it's pretty obvious Nintendo is betting it all on the NX at this point, why else would they have nothing for the Wii U other than Breath of the Wild and Color Splash, and they're also porting some of their other former Wii U exclusives over to the 3DS
am i the only one here who thinks the galaxy 3DS looks ugly? it looks like they just slapped a stock photo of space onto a purple 3DS
For me, the fact that the Wii U basically has no games coming out beyond Zelda and Paper Mario is more than enough proof that the NX is supposed to be the successor to the Wii U, if not the 3DS as well. Nintendo is really bad at consistently releasing games for its consoles, but they wouldn't let the Wii U sit this long unless it was completely dead.
The title theme for Pikmin 3DS leaked, guys (not really)

Anyways I'm pretty sure the whole "X is not a successor to Y" thing basically just means Nintendo has an out for dropping any of the 3 platforms. DS wasn't the successor to the GBA until it started doing well.
I do wonder if we'll get many 'dual release' games on the Wii U and NX, though. Also, how many ports/rereleases we'll get.
Are people actually getting mad about this Pikmin spinoff?
Little question, are the ABXY buttons on the 2DS of lower quality than on the 3DS/3DSXL/New 3DS? I know the d-pad is slighty worse by reading some reviews, but im worried with the main buttons

Don't forget that Sega's next big Sonic game that they're still ambiguous on the details of is planned for the NX as well as PS4 and XBO.
Funny that Sonic's announced a new game on a new Nintendo console before Mario.

They are just trying to cut all ties to WiiU which is not successful.
It's still just new gaming console that is slightly more powerful, no matter if its a successor to something

Hey now, it wasn't completely ignored. They remembered to C&D the only person who cared enough about it to release a new Metroid game.
Fucking Arby's did more to commemorate Metroid's 30th than fucking Nintendo

Surprised no ones shopped in nintendos facebook replying "take this down."
Are people actually getting mad about this Pikmin spinoff?
For the most part, probably no. the thing with Pikmin is that we already know that they're developing a Pikmin 4. Chibi-Robo just laid out the foundation for "unusual sidescrolling" gameplay just because of the plugshot, in a similar sense to Kirby's Epic Yarn starting off a small scale popularity in using wool-based graphics in games which eventually lead to Yoshi's Woolly World.
Compared to Chibi-Robo, Pikmin has more worldwide potential, if only because all of its main games has actually been released. it isn't like where Metroid has had a 10-year hiatus to suddenly have a game not starring Samus and having a graphical direction so vastly different to the extent that people thought the series either became rebooted or if the Blastball gameplay just had the Metroid name slapped onto it. (it probably allieviated a bit now that they revealed that the gameplay doesn't entirely revolve around blastball though)
And that Pikmin petition was obvious satire [sp]Who would consider Nintendo Land a Pikmin game[/sp]? everyone knows the best Pikmin game is 2 just in terms of gameplay refinement and enforcing much more exploration, the only weak side was that the survival elements were downplayed (to an extent) and going inside dungeons froze time, however it had a better balance on puzzles. Pikmin 3 had really gougous graphics for the Wii U (look at those fruit) but treasures felt impersonal and most bosses were not memorable (besides the final boss [sp]the Plasm Wraith[/sp]), moving from 2 to 3 people just made the whole Pikmin management more complex.
Not even sure wherever to consider Rocks/Flying Pikmin to be that major if not for the former's inability to grab when thrown and the latter just being useful for dodging ground-based attacks...whilst also suffering from semi-predictable pathing, getting trapped on webs you didn't clear. it just seemed a bit counter productive to run 20 of each Pikmin when you're limited to having 100 out at a time.
Expand the gameplay by adding day/night time segments to introduce more familiar enemies (with stuff like bio-luminescence), reduce captains from 3 to 2 (3 would be an aftergame thing), replace the resident "small" Pikmin with Light-Pikmin (flashes enemies, explodes when swallowed, sniffs treasure?), Heavy Pikmin could be replaced with Grey Pikmin (Cant be swallowed, Medic when killed, 2-3 carrying power?). could understand if they went to fruit because of the rights nightmare between regions and if they somehow rereleased the game after 10 years, but still...
GameXplain just released a fucking feature film length analysis of BotW

Goodness, most feature length films aren't even that long
And I listened to all of it.
They went nuts on this one. They went and tried locating the towers on the map based on footage as well as speculated on the actual size of the world by counting pixels.
Was really fun to listen to.
So I've been having a lot of trouble with Internet shit on my 3ds. I can connect perfectly fine, with the connection test working, and I can even browse the internet on the Web browser just fine. but for some reason when it comes to connecting to any games online or using the eshop / updating my games it doesn't work at all. I keep getting the same error code about the internet probably timing out, which doesn't make sense to me since I can connect just fine.
I'm at college right now and I figure it's the fact that I'm on university wireless, except I've been her 4 years and this is the first time it's happened since I got my 3ds. it's driving me nuts, anybody have any tips?
