The only game i'd expect could end up with a full mobile release is Wario ware or some of the simpler NES titles like balloon fight, clu clu land or excitebike
I would actually really enjoy an Ice Climber game that just goes on infinitely. Sort of like Doodle Jump.

At least that game looks and plays like Mario with a direction always held, rather than some cheap cash-in that looks like Mario but barely resembles it gameplay-wise.

yeah its not like things can change in 6 years or anything
Looks like Hyper Light Drifter for the Wii U has been cancelled http://nintendoeverything.com/hyper-light-drifters-wii-u-version-officially-cancelled/
[t]http://i.imgur.com/jADEV3U.jpg[/t] So this is floating around online in regards to all of Nintendo's "sins" the past year. I have to admit, I really worry for them at the moment.

It's an image that usually circles around /v/. They don't like phone games and on disc, disc locked content. [t]http://i.imgur.com/HrhbbBQ.jpg[/t] Those threads usually contain this image as well.
how is breath of the wild a 'sin'? the game looks amazing so far. i can't think of any reason people would be upset about it.
Probably because it was delayed and also now on two consoles.
What was so bad about Mario Tennis Ultra Slam? And today I learned there is a Mario Tennis Ultra Slam.
Probably because it was delayed and also now on two consoles.
To be honest though, if Nintendo want to retire the WiiU in favour of the NX, I'd rather Breath of the Wild not go down with the ship. It's not like it's no longer coming out on WiiU, it's just coming out on the NX as well.
What was so bad about Mario Tennis Ultra Slam? And today I learned there is a Mario Tennis Ultra Slam.
It was incredibly barebones. No special abilities, no online, I think all of the stages were exactly the same and had no hazards. It was very clearly a filler game to make the Wii U's lineup bigger.

I have to admit, I really worry for them at the moment.
I'll agree with the lackluster games, the unnecessary censorship, and the constant removal of fangames. But I'm perfectly fine with Amiibo and mobile games. They give me new ways to experience Nintendo content. Also as a casual Pikmin fan I'm pretty okay with the Pikmin platformer.
I think Amiibos are on there because IMO Nintendo really dropped the ball on them. They seemed rather promising. But then they started having store exclusives and low low stock. When they finally got around to fixing the stock problems they release a fuck ton of Animal Crossing amiibos that are still sitting on store shelves. There are still stores around me that are selling the first wave. They really went overboard making amiibos for a game that was selling pretty poorly and heavily complained about. We are finally getting Super Mario wave 2 when wave 1 came out last year (which were overstocked and sold rather poorly). I don't even think we got a release date for the remaining Smash Bros. amiibos. I also think they made to many amiibos for just one off games. The Kirby line didn't really need to be made. It only introduced 1 brand new character. Splatoon didn't need 3 more reskinned amiibos. Yoshi's Woolly World was just 4 more Yoshis. And the most useless of all is Shovel Knight and Chibi Robo.
I wouldn't be surprised if Cloud never gets an amiibo due to rights and they just quietly left that out tbh.
You know, after seeing Super Mario Run, I would love to see WarioWare on mobile, the short quick-reaction game fits great for mobile.
TIME interviewed Miyamoto about Super Mario Run. The quick summary: - Nintendo want to have five mobile apps released by March 2017, Miitomo included. - Development team consists of the long-time core Mario team, including Miyamoto and Tezuka. - Mario games are very simple to control, but even then, some people tend to grapple with stuff like running jumps. With that in mind, the team is trying to distill the simplicity of Mario movement down to one hand - Even with the simplified controls, there are still advanced skills and techniques with which to chase high scores - Discussion of how Nintendo is dealing with developing for hardware they didn't make, explaining that the game is launching on iOS first because there's less compatibility issues to deal with between devices than Android - No connectivity with NX planned for this game, but they might do something involving My Nintendo - Pokemon Go got tons of people who had never played Pokemon into the series and increased sales of the older games, they hope Super Mario Run will have a similar effect - Miyamoto was surprised to find out that Tim Cook is younger than he is Also, according to Nintendo PR, the game will be the "free to start" deal that Nintendo have been flirting with on the 3DS in recent times - download what basically amounts to a demo for free, with a one-off purchase to unlock the rest of the game. No microtransactions, it seems.
Kinda confused as to how a couple of these are sins? Amiibo? Pokemon Go? Miitomo?
I'll continue to agree with Amiibo just being the worst, up until there's anything other than Mario, Luigi, Zelda, and Pikachu at any of my local stores. Having 13$ Physical DLC is one thing, but they've been really terrible about what's unlocked by them. Codename Steam and Fire Emblem Fates both have character unlocks hidden behind the Fire Emblem Figures; Twilight Princess HD has its Challenge mode locked out behind Ganondorf of all things, and Breath of the Wild is going to be a mess of different bonuses. You just can't easily own "all" of a Nintendo game anymore at this point, because of the rarity of the stupid things
it's /v/, most things involving them are contrarian or some pseudo hipster that hates hipsters
What annoys me the most about pics like that is that all the shitty trouble and annoying confusion can be easily prevented if /v/ cared enough to make some fucking explanations on the same pic for why certain aspects appear there. But since it's /v/ you will never get any of that, they just want to cause as much trouble and hatred as possible. And then they wonder why people hate /v/
[t]http://i.imgur.com/jADEV3U.jpg[/t] So this is floating around online in regards to all of Nintendo's "sins" the past year. I have to admit, I really worry for them at the moment.
Federation Force is only a sin because by the time it was announced, Animal Crossing had 2 concurrent spinoff games, one of which (Amiibo Festival) started off as if it was a hi-def AC game only to fall flat once the panels were shown that and the last Metroid game came out 10 years ago and the graphical changes made the game look less gritty/mature compared to previous games. Star Fox Zero may have been caused partially by controls, the media and hype. Pikmin is probably more low key compared to Chibi-Robo since the last game only came about 2/3 years ago with a 4th game already being announced an in development. With the whole Treehouse thing, i personally think that they kept some games beind bars only for tangibly related reasons like keeping a game back for a week just to change 1 line of dialogue to get payment for it, except it kind of became painful for Fire Emblem since Corrin already came out for Smash Bros. Bravely Second's major things were changing Aimee's hat from Indian to Cowboy (arguably Hawkeye is more thematic for a class with guns) but then there's some quests that had [sp]alternate endings[/sp] which were fully localized in the ingame log as if it happened. definitely can agree that the Treehouse kept Atlus behind...maybe they should've only announced it when there was more than just a logo instead of redoing it after a year. they seem pretty on the ball with Persona 5 however, espcially in EU with their past track record where Atlus games could almost take more than a year. And the phone games isn't that much of a sin, since they're their own thing. Miitomo can arguably be an extension of the MyNintendo system...which arguably sucks just because of the slow rotation of discounts and such. though extending gold coins to 12 months will probably help out a bit for the NX. The Mario sports games has been slowly dwindling in quality slightly, with the wrong way to do DLC (Mario Golf) when they already established a nice model with Mario Kart 8 (where they even had a 250cc cup). Ultra Smash apparently seeming low quantity of content. Color Splash is probably suffering from the fact that its cool to hate on the Paper Mario series now since the general background is either mostly the core Mario races in the Mushroom Kingdom and most of the usual stuff like badges and partners has left the game after Super Paper Mario, at least SPM tried to do something with the Paper angle but not too drastic, Pixls are arguably less like partners and more like usable characters, but the script and villains were surprisingly likable for the most part. (barring the mysterious edginess Dimentio has or that weird first boss feel O'Chunks has) What is Nintendo's policy about porno art anyway, like are they actively seeking out anything with the word "Pokemon" in it, or are they skimming through people's pages to see if it got reblogged? like some websites calls it "Porkyman" and iirc, Tumblr had some sort of preferential thing where anything beyond the 3rd tag isn't...searchable as easily? Zelda is slightly unfortunate, but i guess its a slight small sacrifice if they wanted to push the NX, the more important thing is wondering how they'll go around it this time. like i would at least expect a Nintendo update that allows you to have multiple systems signed in on a single NNID, and homogenize the Virtual Consoles. i wouldn't be surprised if they somehow let people use the licience for a game they bought on the Wii U to be used on a Mobile of some sort, seem like a way they could back up on old software sales whilst piggybacking on profits and the power of phones. (which has constantly shifting specs. it might even pave the way for Gamecube games if the market is stimulated enough) Amiibo kind of faded in popularity a bit, there's just not that many games other than Smash that uses it to a large extent, most 3rd Party amiibo are just kinda generic. at least Shovel Knight tries to so something with his game and Gunvolt 2. could be the reason why Animal Crossing is getting an Amiibo update, probably wouldn't mind if they updated other games like Kid Icarus or maybe Yokai Watch 2 as some sort of Eastern Update since the medal that came with Shin'uchi in Japan (Buchinyan) is part of the Yo-Motion grab bags. or maybe it'd be some sort of Fire Emblem update that stacks ontop of one of the 2 base games? heck, maybe do a Pokemon Blue where Fleshy Souls/Bony Spirits a recursive localization of Shin'uchi instead?
The Mario sports games has been slowly dwindling in quality slightly, with the wrong way to do DLC (Mario Golf) when they already established a nice model with Mario Kart 8 (where they even had a 250cc cup).
??? Mario Golf's DLC predates Mario Kart 8's, and it's the same model
??? Mario Golf's DLC predates Mario Kart 8's, and it's the same model
I just mean in the sense that although they locked characters/courses behind DLC, it wasn't on-disc. additional data had to be downloaded but at least you had the added value of extra cups. maybe i'm just slightly biased to an extent since Kart just evolved with each game. its much easier to party about on Kart 8 just due to approachability.
World Tour actually had pretty good value in its DLC from what I remember reading, and that was on top of a pretty feature-rich base game. I wonder why Camelot dropped the ball so hard on Ultra Smash afterwards. Sure, the game looked gorgeous and played solidly, but it had even less content than Mario Tennis 64.
how is breath of the wild a 'sin'? the game looks amazing so far. i can't think of any reason people would be upset about it.
Because the Wii U is the first Nintendo console without an exclusive Zelda at all, instead going the Twilight Princess route. That's why there's text underneath the image.
