Federation Force is only a sin because by the time it was announced, Animal Crossing had 2 concurrent spinoff games, one of which (Amiibo Festival) started off as if it was a hi-def AC game only to fall flat once the panels were shown that and the last Metroid game came out 10 years ago and the graphical changes made the game look less gritty/mature compared to previous games.
I'm gonna disagree there, it isn't just the art style that makes Federation Force a mess, The actual game just ain't great, even early in, and there are a lot of missions that are just being locked in one small area fighting waves of enemies, like m10 and m16, escorting slow moving objects, like m09 and m15, delivering items that reduce your movement to a crawl like in m13 and m17, or just playing blast ball, like in m02 and m16; and the bosses themselves are just damage sponges that you shoot until their health runs out, you're not working to uncover weaknesses, you're not solving puzzles to fight them, just hitting them until their health runs out. That and it doesn't feel like you unlock new abilities as you progress, you get mods along the way, sure, but they're all boring and uninspired things such as minor damage boosts to missiles or flame shots, etc, extra health regen, resistance to environmental damage, and so on. The only actual progression comes from unlocking more mod slots along the way, and getting more Ammo Capacity. There's never a reason to replay old levels to find hidden areas you couldn't access before, and because all of the items in hidden areas are randomized mods you can get dupes of, it doesn't feel as good to hunt for secrets anyways Oh, and m18 is to stand around a defend a drill for 10 solid minutes. Can't imagine how I forgot that one.

Weird they didn't went with Ocarina of Time Link to match Epona, but looks good. [editline]8th September 2016[/editline]
so... is it zelda or is it monster hunter? it looks like neither
JRPG.
so... is it zelda or is it monster hunter? it looks like neither
It's a set of Zelda themed Skins for a Monster Hunter RPG based on riding the monsters
I'll continue to agree with Amiibo just being the worst, up until there's anything other than Mario, Luigi, Zelda, and Pikachu at any of my local stores. Having 13$ Physical DLC is one thing, but they've been really terrible about what's unlocked by them. Codename Steam and Fire Emblem Fates both have character unlocks hidden behind the Fire Emblem Figures; Twilight Princess HD has its Challenge mode locked out behind Ganondorf of all things, and Breath of the Wild is going to be a mess of different bonuses. You just can't easily own "all" of a Nintendo game anymore at this point, because of the rarity of the stupid things
Let me introduce you to the Amiiqo then.
- Miyamoto was surprised to find out that Tim Cook is younger than he is
owned
owned
I swear that during the conference when Miyamoto showed up, he said "Thanks, Steve" when Tim Cook was leaving the stage :v:
just bought the new ace attorney game. so far, so enjoyable! it really feels like they knew what was missing in the last game
just bought the new ace attorney game. so far, so enjoyable! it really feels like they knew what was missing in the last game
Ever since they started giving us informations about the game, they were pretty much addressing most of the problems with DD.
So, Kaze Emanuar (a guy who has been doing a bunch of Mario 64 romhacking in the past few years) has just re-created the concept of "Super Mario Run" in Super Mario 64.

Super Castlevania 4 out on NA N3DS VC
Good game, that slogra fight is some crap though. An entire three notches per hit? Unreal. Thank goodness for save states.
I can't wait until this dude releases that major romhack of Mario 64 that he's been showing videos of.
Yeah, it practically looks like an official sequal designed for the N64, it's truly impressive and has gotten to the point where it feels like there is more new material than old, a threshold many hacks never get to be:

Even Capcom is self-aware on it. Just reminded me of this classic one:
And the most useless of all is Shovel Knight
You leave Shovel Knight out of this.
And the most useless of all is Shovel Knight
I disagree, the two player mode and custom shovel knight mode are really nice additions. would have been better if they were just updates available for everyone on all consoles and PC, but it's still really nice.
I'd love to buy the Shovel Knight Amiibo, but I'd have to buy an Amiibo reader/N3DS as well as the game on 3DS. Seems like a bunch of cool features. Shame it has no effect on the special campaigns though.
Guess what I just picked up today: [T]http://i.imgur.com/AJGizPK.jpg[/T] The current status of my Metroid collection is: Metroid (zero mission bonus ), Return of Samus (3ds), Metroid Fusion (WiiU), Zero mission (WiiU), Prime Trilogy (WiiU), Other M (Retail copy) and now federation force (3ds).
Imagine if Federation Force actually becomes a best-seller and every future Metroid game will have the same playstyle like FF.
And the most useless of all is Shovel Knight
Shovel Knight amiibo is actually really cool, as you get more items to play with, also the Wii U version gets 2 Player Co-Op. I would say a bit unfair on that part, but PS4 has the Kratos fight, and XBOX has the best one, the Battletoads Wookie Hole/Turbo Tunnel fight.
God damn I got Spirit of Justice Thursday and basically all my freetime and a good chunk of my sleep has been spent playing it. I still think my favorite part was (case 1 spoilers)[sp]when Pees'lubn goes from hippie monk with a guitar to full fucking metalhead out of nowhere. These are the types of characters that make the series so great,[/sp] Also (case 2 character) [sp]Bonny mai waifu[/sp] 2 cases in and I'm really liking what I'm seeing. Case 2 was great even if they tend to be one of the more boring cases in the series.
I'm still really bitter about Mario Maker 3DS not having any non-streetpass online support. I've been watching some Mario Maker Let's Plays and I know that just passing people on the street is rarely going to provide super interesting, quality levels, whereas on the WiiU I don't own I could look up levels made by a Castlevania level designer I'll never see in person just walking around in fucking Oklahoma.
excited for Dragon Quest 7 and i'll prob pick up smt 4 final later in the month/next month. good time for rpg fans
Discovered that my New 3DS XL might be on its last legs. frequently softlocks/freezes when trying to download anything, even tried different things to determine whatever is causing it... • Pulling the router plugs out and putting them back in. compared with brother's 3DS which works fine. • Copied files off of SDHC card, reformatted/checked the bad sectors, nothing. put files back. • used an entirely fresh card. • tried downloading DSi Ware without a card in. • Taken out battery, wiped contacts, put back. • Did both L+R+Up+A thing to see if it would just redownload a firmware update in safemode, but already said its the highest update. • Reset the screen menu placements. • Turned off street passes. None of this works, weirdly it even freezes in sleep mode or when you press the homebutton ingame from a 3DS game. I mean before, it was just detecting a WPA2-whatever signal as WEP and not being able to connect to that until the router fixed itself. the only major thing i can think of was that Mii Plaza update where it stopped part way. it frenquently got stuck at 6-8 "nibs" on the bar. Sucks, since DQ7 is out here next week, i just hope that nintendo doesn't mix the 3DSes up with some guy's, NNID being tied to a device seems archaic as hell.
I'm currently on Case 5 but general impressions are *The game is super good. Some of the cases (2+3) are entire series highlights to me. 2 is just really fucking good. *Characters in general have been wonderful *Case 4 sucks and is the lamest filler in the entire series to counter earlier praise. It's super hand-holdy and not terribly interesting in the slightest. The only thing it has going for it is the fact that it most likely killed someone on the translator team and the witness is probably one of the best NPC's to grill. I really dug the characters. Despite that I think this has potential to be one of the best AA games if not the best yet. Case 2+3 are just that good and I'm hoping Case 5 sticks the landing.

Man from the sounds of it it sucks to hear that case 4 wasn't very good. The only other time we got a mini turnabout late into the game was Trials and Tribulations and that turned out to be easily one of the best turnabouts in the entire series. Anyway case 3 has been fun too as I wrap it up and it's amazing that an AA game got through cases 2 and 3 without any weak points. Sure 4 sounds like it makes up for that but it at least has me super hyped for case 5, especially with all the buildup characters are getting.
