Holy shit the audacity, most of the sound effects were ripped from Mario games too :v:
AM2R didn't died for this
speaking of AM2R

yeah there's some stolen maplestory assets

Yeah, there's some pretty egregious shit in BoxMaker. Heard about it on Giant Bomb, who did a Quick Look of it. Part that really blew my mind at 15:45: http://www.giantbomb.com/videos/quick-look-boxmaker/2300-11576/
So did Valve just remove their already really low barrier for entry or something?

Still no slopes, 0/10

Steam is quickly becoming worse than the Xbox live indie arcade marketplace.
I think even Desura has higher quality standards
The sad thing is : BoxMaker is slightly better than the upcoming 3DS version because of online support
*snip Desura is not actually dead yet, the site just doesn't work well at all because they filed for bankruptcy earlier this year*

Kind of a neat explanation on the crystals at the end of the game and why the baby Metroid has to destroy them for you.
The DS ones are best story-wise, but the 3DS (GO) ones are best overall. I'd pick Inazuma Eleven GO Light/Shadow first, then go for 2: Chrono Stone Wildfire/Thunderflash if you liked that one. The third GO game isn't out in Europe yet, but it'll be later this year.
The DS ones could also be alright to try if you can get them cheap, but play them first if that's the case.
Which version you get is pretty much like Pokémon's Red/Blue whatever systems. Don't matter much.
Maybe a pretty late reply but I just wanted to add a bit of information because I love that darn series.
Antimuffin, if you're thinking about getting IE:3, go 100% for the Ogre version. It's basically the IE equivalent to Pokémon's 3rd-version-of-a-gen-games (Emerald/Platinum etc.).
Havn't played GO yet (I'm a slow player), but if I'm correct it has a lot of cameos/characters from the first triology. Meaning you might want to play trough the first three games.
The story of pretty much all IE games, as far as I'm concerned, is absolutely ridiculous (in a kinda fun way), but seeing as the games are very story-oriented I'd say it's worth it to play trough all of 'em if you want to fully understand the games.
so apparently nintendo accidentally released paper mario color splash early for people who preloaded

"This is a crime"
Dude worries too much lol
Honestly, this probably couldn't have gotten better- thanks to my friends who have gotten it early, I feel like I want this game a hell of a lot more than I did previously. Is the Paper Mario series ever gonna get as good as TTYD? Nope, but at least CS looks better than SS.

Time to do some beta-testing!
In addition to PS 4 Pro, Foxconn is the largest OEM for Nintendo NX, followed by Japan-based Misumi Electronics and Hosiden, the sources noted. Annual production of Nintendo NX is estimated at 9.5-10 million units, the sources said.
Current theory is September for initial production, early October reveal, late October for full production, late March for release date.
And for those who don't think Nintendo will talk at all about the NX in October, keep in mind that they have an investor meeting on the 29th or so about the rest of the fiscal year- not having talked about it by then, when it releases right at the end of the fiscal year, would be stock suicide.

Kinda wish I was awake when this happened. Oh well, I'll save some money anyways with Amazon.
Found my old DSLite, forgot how much fun the Phoenix Wright games were.
Not liking the movement system of the Edgeworth game though.
Friend of mine got Color Splash early via the trick and I got to play/watch up to the first boss. For those on the fence or curious I'll type up my thoughts while attempting to be unbiased as possible. This is only up to the first boss so I will not be marking spoilers
For my opening statement: I think the game is good.
Not the best, not great, not mindblowing but "good". The game opens like you've all seen with Toad getting sucked dry and Mario having to wring out Huey to turn him into paper so he can save Toad. You then go about port prisma restoring things and doing minor puzzles until you actually get out of town. It's all very basic and underwhelming outside of the amazing visuals.
We then spent the next couple hours clearing "levels" and opening the map up before we hit our first roadblock which was a gate with 3 Toad-Shaped keyholes. The levels we went through all had Toads out the wazoo running around some with sidequests attached to them (one Toad was running around naked and needed help finding his clothes) and apparently we had to find 3 "chosen" Toads to fit the holes in the wall, all which would reveal themselves via said sidequests if we had the right Toads. The game was actually making a joke on how Toads are the only real NPC's in the starting area.
It took some time but we eventually found all of them (and some of the rescue team guys) and we slotted them in where they promptly died to open a gate. Rest in peace. You then find that big white tower in all the trailers and have to down a airship that's trying to get away to repaint it all. Inside the mountain you run into Morton who is actually a idiot and you have to chase him to the top fighting all the way up. Once at the top you fight him like we've seen and I'll have more to say on that later. You beat him and you get a end of chapter paper mario 64 remix as you restore the area and throw a huge dance party with all the characters that showed up that chapter.
I only peeked at the next level before I had to go but my friend told me that actual mystery stuff is coming up and characters like Wart of all people are getting namedropped. I dunno if it means anything but I'm actually kind of interested.
Things I came away with after all that?
The game is funny. The chosen toad bullshit made me laugh because of what they actually wind up doing and how they each reveal themselves. Friend playing is quoted saying "I think that Toad has a stand"
Battles are ultra brief and feel like a total after thought. I didn't mind them too much and maaaybe it was because we had played so long nonstop but by the end of the session the two of us were so tired of fighting shy guys we would groan whenever one caught us. That being said skipping fights is a bad idea. We did actually run out of paint at one point and the only way to get more is to level up your hammer.
Cards get used up after you use them once- the battle spin now however lets you buy cards mid fight through a roulette wheel (even letting you get less powerful replica's of thing cards if you're lucky) so as long as you have coins you never HAVE to run away. The shop back in Port Prisma lets you just dump a assload of cards to refresh yourself anyway so it doesn't feel like that big of a deal.
Morton in the E3 walkthrough died in like 2 hits, one of them being a thing card. Admit we didn't have the absolute best stuff and we messed up a single command but that isn't QUITE the case now. He had a LOT more HP then the E3 demo and can call in different platforms to hide on. That being said you really do just win the second you use the Thing card. His attack drops all the way down to like 1 when blocked and he just makes a few jokes about hitting you with a stick as a last resort.
There's also this feature where you cut out the background and I really don't get the point of it. I almost forgot to write about it because it's just so... random. Sometimes the camera view will just change slightly and you chop the background elements out so you can treat the camera view as a 2D plane and... man I'm going to give up trying to explain it. It's stupid and while none of them "stumped" me I thought it was a pointless feature.
Other thing of note is Huey. He's not Kersti 2.0 and I lament the fact he's a fucking bucket because he's actually a good character and one that's fun to be around. That might change later but I liked him.
That's my thoughts so far- I think it's interesting to note that most of the stuff shown off in trailers is all chapter 1 stuff. The beach, some caves, a mountain region etc. It honestly makes me think there might end up being more then one island you go to because it feels like we had a solid third of it done (if not a half of it) by the time chapter 1 was done.
I'm still on the fence about buying the game after reading that. Like, there's so much I liked about the first two games, characters and battle system that it might be hard to get into the game.
Also, semi-important question. Did the opening cutscene actually have narration, or was that just for the livestream event and trailer?

There's no narration. It was just swelling dramatic music.
[editline]25th September 2016[/editline]
Also there's a shy guy called SHUNNED GUY.
It breaks it's back and crawls on all fours after you with it's straw flopping about while horror music plays. It's pretty hilarious and I wanted to mention that because it was one of my favorite dumb jokes.
So they improved the writing, but the gameplay had a band-aid placed ontop and they figured "well that's good enough," it sounds.
Kind of, some things that should be known about the battle system:
The battles are a little more interesting due to the paint mechanic and the fact fights take place where you start them ala Chrono Trigger so you do have to pay attention to where you are. For example: If there's a wall and you throw a koopa shell through a row of enemies, the shell will bounce off a wall and smack into you as well,
Enemies also have context specific quips for where you chose to fight them. On the airship they'll call you a stowaway mid fight for example.
Kamek sometimes just randomly shows up and fucks with your deck in random ways for a single fight. I didn't catch if it had a trigger but he can make all your cards hammers, make you blind for the fight random annoying things.
If you take too long fucking around with your deck enemies will try to get cheap shots in at you. The card screen will flash red to warn you. Had a shy guy mug me while picking a card at one point and and dash off like the bandits from PM:64
-Big fat wall of text of Color Splash-
Well, you convinced me to get the game. I still think the battle system is still redundant, but your hands-on is telling they improved it better, just only bad thing is same freaking enemies for a good while.
It seems like the unfounded hatred for Color Splash was so long ago now.
don't worry i still have unfounded hate for it
It seems like the unfounded hatred for Color Splash was so long ago now.
To be fair, I can't help but feel there was less outright hatred for it and more "They've learned nothing from sticker star, god fucking damnit." Granted, there was still plenty of hate for it, but it wasn't fully unfounded. I do hope it does better now, though, considering it sounds like they made the best out of their situation.
