General Nintendo Discussion V5 - The Future of Nintendo

If the more developer-friendly factors are true, I guess Nintendo learned their lesson from the Wii U on that field at least.

They have a launch game that utilizes the tech and then drops it. They've done this three times now if this info is correct.
As much as I respect Boogie, I really can't agree with any of what he said- Everything is more or less what we've heard from various sources over the past months, sometimes confirmed by other sources, and sometimes denied by others. As soon as Boogie started talking about "A new smash, not a port of the wii u one but a brand new one" I honestly had to stop the video.
If there's one thing I won't miss from pre-NX news, it's the rumor mill.
Metroid Prime: Federation Force seems to be a massive flop. Only 30,000 units sold worldwide. (for comparison, a game that is actually considered fairly rare on the 3DS, Cave Story 3D, sold nearly 5 times as much at 140,000 units, or 9 times better in the US than Federation Force). For another comparison, Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire outsold it entirely in the second week of September, nearly two years after it was released.
If this was any game company studio not associated with Nintendo, it'd probably have gone bankrupt on the spot.
Is this including Digital Sales as well?
Is this including Digital Sales as well?
I do not know. Most likely not, but I doubt that it's higher than an additional 50% tops.

Good Smile is really knocking it out of the park so far with Nintendo figmas.
[t]http://i.imgur.com/Xfoc4YX.jpg[/t]
Oh my gosh. GSC is announcing all this hot figma stuff just as I've begun cutting back my spending on this kind of thing.
This isn't really Nintendo-related, but they also showed off figma P-Body and Atlas:

I'm incredibly stoked that they're getting Valve licenses. I was never a fan of NECA's figures. Really hope this leads to figma Gordon Freeman or figma TF2 characters. I'm going to have to start saving a separate figure fund...

That phazon's fucking with her appetite. Her waist is tiny.
[t]http://i.imgur.com/Xfoc4YX.jpg[/t]
For some reason I though it was going to be her Phazon Enhancement Device Suit (PED Suit) from the game. Still, looks awesome! Bit weird seeing it since everything else now is using Other M's Power Suit design.
Is it me or her waist is way too tight?
after all of the Other M style armor, I welcome thin waisted Samus, at least the rest of her armor looks good.
[sp]She's thinner because she hasn't starred in many games, can't pay the bills if you're not a star[/sp]
... or they can be jerks and say "Metroid is not worth our time anymore."
In 6 months: "Since the release of Federation Force and following its low sales we have decided to drop development of Metroid for the future. Happy 30 years anniversary, Metroid. Please understand."

I just finished The Legend of Zelda Majora's Mask 3D.
It took me 2 months. I did not even finish it as in 100% completion, I only beat the last boss. I am terrible at this. :poot:
Now I must go buy and play Twilight Princess HD... and repeat the same cycle again. :vs:

Speaking of which, I bought these the other day...

Amazing.
Where you got that Music Collection?
I've been playing Color Splash the whole day, and it's a wonderful game, it's basically what Sticker Star should've been, seriously, yes it doesn't have new characters but the dialogue makes up for it and gives everyone their own personality. The gameplay is similiar to Sticker Star but you'll never have to find fucking wiggler segments without any hint, the maps are also top notch, not to mention the music which is TTYD tier.
My only problems with this game are that 1) It's seriously too easy and 2) The battles could be better.
As a Paper Mario game it doesn't disappoint, and as a WiiU game it's one of those must have titles
Reviews for Star Rush are going up and
Somewhat surprising as well people are really enjoying it. A good Mario Party game! Who knew! Shame it's on the 3DS though.

If anybody wants to try it out

Mario Party is my favorite DS multiplayer game simply on the the premise that all of its features were available through download play, meaning that a group of friends could spend an afternoon with just one copy of the game. Even Mario Kart DS could only give 8 tracks

My local Yodobashi Camera (chain of very large electronics stores in Japan). It was not even on the shelf, I had to ask the person at the cashier and it was in stock behind the cashier, it looked as if it was the last one left.
So I checked out the Star Fox Zero demo they have available on the eShop, which is a little training program for all four vehicle modes. Honestly, I actually picked up the controls relatively easy; about the only complaint I really have is that I wish you could remap some of the stick axes to keep strafe on one stick and turn on the other among all vehicle modes (and to be honest, the lack of rebinding is a problem with Nintendo games in general.) That and not being able to invert up/down on the Gyrowing to match the Arwing's ascend/descend.
Other than that, I don't get the complaints. It felt like a cross between KIU and S&P2. I practically doubled the default record on each training course on my second or third try.
Do most gamers just have trouble with motion controls that I somehow don't for some reason? It seems like every time a game that uses motion or touch in some odd way comes along, everyone else tears it to shreds for being too cumbersome but I breeze right through it.

It's not that the controls are difficult. It's that in an actual stage you have to focus between the gamepad and the TV simultaneously due to the different camera perspectives, especially in boss fights since the gamepad has your main view and crosshair while the TV usually sticks to a cinematic view independent of your movement path.
Bloodstained is now confirmed for the NX

I just swap camera views on the TV with the (-) button. Feels a lot easier than having to look down on my gamepad constantly

their NES and SNES controllers are fantastic but damn that's an ugly fuckin logo. do you think there's any way to remove it? acetone?

Boogie came out admitting he was a attention seeking idiot. "Haha I didn't expect people to actually get excited about what I said :DD" -tier
Figured I'd post it as I saw people talking about it in the thread.

I wonder if this means they're working on an N64 bluetooth adapter, like they did with NES and SNES. Not that I need one, since I can use a Wavebird on mine via Raphnet's fantastic adapters, but it would be cool to have true wireless N64 controllers.
I'm skeptical of them getting the analog stick correct, though. Nobody other than maybe Hori has gotten third-party N64 sticks right. The sticks that replicate the official sticks suffer from the exact same durability issues just by design, while the ones that try to do a more modern durable design suffer from awful sensitivity and range issues. The solution most people have settled on is using an intermediary adapter that translates a modern stick's movement (like GCN) to the N64's expected range/deadzone. Works like a charm, but no contoller out there has a layout like N64's, so you have to deal with setting custom button mappings for every game.
Also yeah, that logo is eye-grating. I wish they would just leave these controllers blank so I can stick on my own replica Nintendo logos.
I am loving Color Splash so far, I don't know what it is about it I'm just having a blast playing it.
Can;t wait to get mine tomorrow, in the meantime I'm playing Super Mario 3D World, since I forgot to get everything to be able to do the impossible Crown Level. I haven't spoiled it to myself so can't wait to torture myself like the one in 3D Land.
Biggest gripe I have right now with the battle system is that a lot of the gimmick cards or ones with unique attacks seem weaker/kinda worthless.
I used a Eekhammer and got all the hits on it, meanwhile I use the normal hammer that's fuckin everywhere and I'm sending out shockwaves knocking out multiple enemies and doing just as much damage. I think that's one of the biggest gripes I have- no damage value/HP values mean you just use that stuff when you wanna spice it up.
That being said I think it's so far tied with 64 to me. If the designs were more interesting and it used more characters in general it would be no contest but man I don't know WHY they couldn't spice it up even a little bit. All talking enemies are shy guys, all talking friendlies are Toads. Ehhh
Finally up to where I stopped playing a couple weeks back so maybe that'll change.
It won't but it's nice to dream.

One of the biggest missed opportunities is the fact the Koopalings don't become party members. I mean people would still bitch about them because people love complaining but I just got the ability to summon Morton and if the plot was rewritten just a tad it would of been a cool surprise to see them turn one by one to help you save Bowser from a hidden big bad controlling him.
