Skyrim port, I think Splatoon sequel, new Mario game, Zelda: Into the Wild, selection of sports games. There's some Dragon Quest game and Ubisoft's dancing game confirmed as well.
WOW that's...
...actually super duper neat
So Wii U games, a cartridge slot that they seemingly refused to show an actual game of (although I guess the implication is that it was the Skyrim Special Edition port), the thing is essentially a console all of its own, and a Mario 3D game that used 3D World assets but had a normal SM64-style camera.
Mario Kart 8 had King Boo in it
Samba De Amigo Mario
Splatoon had new hairstyles on Inklings.
Nice confirms Nintendo
it's called the nintendo switch because i'm gonna switch that console off and return it to gamestop
Nice. Looks like those rumors and leaks were true. I can't imagine the battery life on this thing being great, but Nintendo merging their handheld and console teams together can only bring good things, hopefully.
Hopefully those slidey out controllers don't suck
nah jk it's lit
Pretty much what I expected function wise, the visual look of the console with the sliding on/off sections is pretty rad though
I'm trying to figure out whether the Switch itself that you carry around is the console, or what given the TV base. I guess that dev unit leak was pretty much real, as it was basically the Switch without the side controllers attached.
Not sure what to think of how them being separate are essentially Wiimotes, but it looks neat. What gets me is the new content for Splatoon and Mario Kart 8, and the fact that this doesn't explain if it's backwards compatible or these are new releases.
Nintendo would be the type to do new releases, but that'd be a real bad move.
Well what do you know, people are still trying to get those epic leaks in at the last moment. Someone on /v/ seems to have posted a render of the NX devkit:

Haha, it was real. At the very last moment, we finally got a real NX leak.
(Before you say it, of course it looks different. It's a devkit, not the final.)

also notice the "holding two items" bit for Mario Kart
I've so many questions now
haha it was real. at the very last moment, we finally got a real NX leak
I had this internal feeling in my head that it would be. These kinds of things always leak literally the day / hours before these kinds of reveals.
If they can get a Mario Kart game, plus a Splatoon port or sequel, plus a 3D Mario game, plus Zelda, plus the old news but still popular Skyrim, that's one hell of a launch line-up.
That's probably being optimistic though to expect those to be launch title.
wait no d-pad?????

I'm wondering if Mario Kart and Splatoon are ports, with new content perhaps? Would buy both again tbh, loved them both.

Looks awesome, I only saw like two seconds of it but that new Mario game looked beautiful.

And on the system itself, it looked like D-pad buttons.

Most likely they're going to make like what Hyrule Warriors Legends did: New content for the Nintendo Switch version but also available for the Wii U as DLCs. Im fucking down for new Mario Kart 8 DLCs, the one they did were fantastic.
Now to wait for the inevitable Super Smash Bros for Switch port with new characters.

Yeah I think they're ports with new content.
I expect a Smash equivalent to happen. More newcomers baby!

And the next main Sonic game's already confirmed for the Switch as well. It may not be launch, but launch year.

Pffft hahaha, the idea of playing splitscreen on a tiny phone sized screen with tiny controllers on the back of a moving car just sounds and looks ridiculous.
That said it does actually look pretty good otherwise.
REDMOND, Wash., Oct. 20, 2016 – In an introductory video released today (http://www.nintendo.com/switch), Nintendo provided the first glimpse of its new home gaming system and revealed that it is called Nintendo Switch. In addition to providing single and multiplayer thrills at home, the Nintendo Switch system also enables gamers to play the same title wherever, whenever and with whomever they choose. The mobility of a handheld is now added to the power of a home gaming system to enable unprecedented new video game play styles.
At home, Nintendo Switch rests in the Nintendo Switch Dock that connects the system to the TV and lets you play with family and friends in the comfort of your living room. By simply lifting Nintendo Switch from the dock, the system will instantly transition to portable mode, and the same great gaming experience that was being enjoyed at home now travels with you. The portability of Nintendo Switch is enhanced by its bright high-definition display. It brings the full home gaming system experience with you to the park, on an airplane, in a car, or to a friend’s apartment.
Gaming springs into action by removing detachable Joy-Con controllers from either side of Nintendo Switch. One player can use a Joy-Con controller in each hand; two players can each take one; or multiple Joy-Con can be employed by numerous people for a variety of gameplay options. They can easily click back into place or be slipped into a Joy-Con Grip accessory, mirroring a more traditional controller. Or, if preferred, the gamer can select an optional Nintendo Switch Pro Controller to use instead of the Joy-Con controllers. Furthermore, it is possible for numerous people to bring their Nintendo Switch systems together to enjoy local multiplayer face-to-face competition.
“Nintendo Switch allows gamers the freedom to play however they like,” said Reggie Fils-Aime, President and COO, Nintendo of America. “It gives game developers new abilities to bring their creative visions to life by opening up the concept of gaming without boundaries.”
Developers can design their games supporting a variety of play styles, which gives gamers the freedom to choose an experience that best suits them. Some of the publishers, developers and middleware partners announcing support for Nintendo Switch are as follows:

Yeah came here to post this as I saw it in a rewatch. I thought MK8 had great balance as First Place wasn't invincible due to having nonstop banana/shells so I'm curious to how it'll effect things.
I really did like the idea of playing the Wii U without a TV, and I remember that article about a guy riding a train in Japan and playing Black Ops 2 all the way there. This literally takes that concept and blows it up into a whole 'nother level.

I dunno man, if I was ten and had my brother in the back of a car this would be pretty spectacular.
If you could find a way to actually keep the screen steady beyond a goofy holder built into the chair.
Looking at the family demographic I can see the appeal.

Probably a mode that you can switch on VS Race, like Shells Only, Frantic Mode, ect.
From Software means Dark Souls and possibly Bloodborne

As slightly cynical as it sounds, porting as many of their big titles on the Wii U as possible is probably a very sensible idea.
