Ill try some things out to get a good balance. There is always the potential to have several gamemodes, one sticking straight to Prop Hunt, and the other to Suicide Barrel.
I'm just dropping by to say that I absolutely love the aesthetics! How do you do it
Started on a tropical beach! There is a weird black outline on the grass textures, not quite sure why. I'm wondering what happened to this. What was shown looked great, is it still being worked on?

Unfortunately I dont have time right now as uni is really busy, and I also somehow lost all my project files for everything I was working on. Im sure if I get the time I will restart it as I really like the idea. Also, Im interested to know if I should stick with the outdoors theme with just foliage, or should I go about the route of having different props you can select and disguise yourself as like the GMOD gamemode?
This idea looks very similar to that one HL2 DM mod where everyone is a plant and the combine have to shoot boxes at the plants before they Allah Akbar you
It doesn't really matter what route you take, to me, at least. What is important, I think, is random placement of the props so that experienced players don't have an advantage
Multiple props, or the game is going to get boring pretty quick.
This idea looks very similar to that one HL2 DM mod where everyone is a plant and the combine have to shoot boxes at the plants before they Allah Akbar you
Its based off Suicide Survival, Prop Hunt, and the explosive barrel gamemode for Gmod.
You need procedural generation for this game, it would serve it amazingly well.
Thats a little outside of my abilities.
I think the game would work much better with areas with much more clutter. Like dirty buildings and such
I haven't played it on Gmod, but on CS:S, you're really trying to blend in with the environment on regular maps. Having a cluster of identical looking objects doesn't really have that same challenge of trying to fit and look natural in the map, which I think will make it fall short. I think buildings and interiors with furniture and all that stuff are more suited for Prop Hunt than outdoor environments, really.
Heres an update on a winter level. That looks really nice actually. Fits the art style
Great to see this is being worked on again. I do wish it was going to be more like Prop Hunt, though. I think trying to find a good hiding spot and avoid the other team is better than just standing still and running at them when they get close. Both versions are fun but i think Prop Hunt has a bit more depth to it.
I dont see why I couldn't incorporate both designs. But at the moment outdoor scenes are the priority.

That island looks really nice and peaceful.
fish props, spear the right fish!
Will there be a reason to taunt other than to just screw with hunters (like granting heals or buffs and such)?
Will there be a reason to taunt other than to just screw with hunters (like granting heals or buffs and such)?
I havent thought of anything else other than just messing with the player, but something like that could work, so long as the taunter isnt being shot at or in direct view of the other player because that could lead to exploits.
You need procedural generation for this game, it would serve it amazingly well.
Procedural generation is over used. An art style like this would be more suited to handcrafted maps. Procedural generation gets boring and can create boring as hell environments.
