My experience must have been pretty good, I never used ultra weapons outside of pvp so I didn't run in to these issue with durability. I could usually move to the next bonfire or defeat a boss without my weapon breaking. I think if the system worked as intended for all weapons it would have been great.
See here's where I disagree with you. I don't want to have to sit at every bonfire I pass. In DS1 I don't even bother to light bonfires I know I won't use, in DS2 I'm forced to light all the bonfires and sit down just to stop the twigs I call weapons from snapping.
Well you are supposed to use the bonfires, the game is balanced around that.
And that's what I fucking hate. In DS1 if you're good at the game you don't need most of the bonfires, in DS2 you have to hit every bonfire because fuck you, your weapons are now paper mache.
I hope Lightning Spears are worth it again.
It's stupid to nerf them because you can see them coming a mile away AND they fly in a straight line with no tracking.
Well you are supposed to use the bonfires, the game is balanced around that.
Come on, everybody knows that was extremely bullshit.

I personally fail to comprehend how someone could actually like that, but to each their own, I guess.
as expected, rules had to be bent to get into and around drangleic castle by using the old sun ring. it was as annoying as you'd think because you have to use it a few times AND keep it from breaking. ray carves up the dragonriders easily enough, and boyd took care of the looking glass invader while benhart got his ass beat in the corner

amana was fucking terrifying with those lindelt archdrake guys running fast as FUCK and two fog doors to pass through with them right behind you. my anus could have clenched through diamonds as I passed the second one. felecia the brave got smashed quickly but schmidt was able to redeem himself for his pitiful performance back in black gulch. running through the crypt was fast and although agdayne got stomped pretty quick it was easy enough to keep velstadt off of scarlett

next comes the most daunting test of this playthrough: guardian dragon vs sellsword luet. it's gonna be a nightmare
i'm a little late to this, what are you up to? trying to beat the game without doing any damage yourself?
I personally fail to comprehend how someone could actually like that, but to each their own, I guess.
I still think DS1's equipment durability was barely an issue and needed slight tweaks on it (except for obvious enemies that spit acid, oh wait Lost Izalith) etc but boy if DS2 exaggerated on it.
Add fast degradation + low durability weapons +spell\items\enemies that can damage your equipment or have "corrosive" skin like Dragon Sihn and it becomes a chore.

From what I can tell he's just taking a nice walk through dragleic and just keeps accidentally stumbling onto big fights he has nothing to do with

if you care to see all my status reports the first is at the bottom of page 73
Seriously though what was the point of infusions in DS2? They're almost universally terrible
I have to say that not all infusions are terrible, there are quite many weapons and shields that can make good use of it.
It depends on each weapon of course so i really can't make a list but depending on situations you can get lightining 100% shields, poison infused whips, hardcore bleed weapons, magic infused staffs and so on.
Mundane Ladle is one of the few big things although it got nerfed :v:
Hell, many weapons that benefit largely from infusion got nerfed, if i'm not mistaken.
Remember when the Moonlight Greatsword used to be buffable? Good times...

That didn't last long at all. I don't even think I'd killed the spider on NG before they nerfed that.
Remember when miracles were actually a miracles and not a yellow fart.
Daily reminder that DS2 exploding durability ruining mummies have no right to exist.
who the fuck decided to take some hollows, wrap them in toilet paper and go;
"i want to be hitler today, let me just make these dudes do no damage but completely ruin somebody's new nikes. I'm a fucking genius."
Anyone also remember that exploit where you could power stance the Gyrm Greataxe with any UGS and it gave you the longsword power stance moveset? Could kill people in 2-3 quick hits.
Remember when miracles were actually a miracles and not a yellow fart.
I remember when miracles were the most broken fucking things in the series.
Second Chance, God's Wrath, and Anti-Magic Field were amazing Miracles, if only because they made a complete joke out of PvE and you could equip it alongside things like Firestorm or Light Weapon for maximum ruination.
And then were turned into throwing yellow pipe cleaners at enemies
Miracles desperately needed a nerf in DS2, I don't care what people say. Having only 6 Crystal Soul Spears that take up 4 attunement slots while Faith builds can have 30+ Great Lightning Spears with only 2 attunement slots was absolute bullshit. Not to mention they were more powerful than their CSS counterparts.
Is a preload available or something? My Xbone appears to be downloading the game, it seems to be about 20gb.
Yeah and then they made faith useless and ruined them overall, they didn't have to fucking give you less casts AND less damage overall, they became the worst overall category of spells.
Again, when I can carry nearly 100 Dark Orbs that do 2x the damage of my GREAT LIGHTNING SPEARS something is hilariously wrong
Remember soul level reduction
Oops nevermind. Seems like the Xbone preload went live last week.
I always have a habit of equipping some kind of helmet as a joke then having it grow on me and keeping it though the game.
Fang Boar Helmet, Manikin Mask, and the Master's Iron Helm are all helmets that I put on for a second just to go, "huehue, this looks silly." and then after wandering around like an idiot with it on, grow an attachment and never take them off.
as someone who abuses toxic in PVP
toxic is kind of hilariously not honorable fighting :v:
[editline]17th March 2016[/editline]
hexes are one thing but you have to have the right stuff already bound or else you're pretty much dead
toxic spam as a phantom is always amusing because the only thing people do is instantly panic
and if they don't flip their shit they WILL die

Dark Orbs do pitiful damage, that's not very concerning (not to mention a dark-infused Transgressor's Leather Shield makes hexes 101% useless). And Faith builds are still OP when they have the best buff spells in the game. Having weak Lightning Spears doesn't make faith builds suddenly useless. Use something else like Heavenly Thunder, WotG, or Blinding Bolt. Those are still deadly as fuck.
I want DaS3 to have a Scraping Shield. Mostly for the psych factor.
You whip that bad boy out and suddenly all those katana kiddies get real nervous about swinging their delicate NIPPON STEEL at your great wall of fuck. Could be a real cool way to shake up player behavior in PvP.
