Use something else like Heavenly Thunder, WotG, or Blinding Bolt. Those are still deadly as fuck.
I shouldn't have to use those fucking spells to get enjoyment out of miracles though. i don't want to rely on "OP" spells in order to get my kicks, I want to use my lightnign spears and pretend I'm fucking Zeus godammit. Not to say it isn't possible to kill someone with my lightning needles but it's already easy to dodge them and much like that shield you mentioned there's also a few shields that can nearly and outright nullify miracles too. You can even hold up your shield to block a WotG with the bell chime and still have stamina left to back off safely. [editline]18th March 2016[/editline] If they're going to be few, make them strong enough to be worth the waste. You can see them coming from a mile away and they don't track as said earlier. Hell even greatarrows track.
I want DaS3 to have a Scraping Shield. Mostly for the psych factor. You whip that bad boy out and suddenly all those katana kiddies get real nervous about swinging their delicate NIPPON STEEL at your great wall of fuck. Could be a real cool way to shake up player behavior in PvP.
Yeah; Katanas have always had a speed and damage bonus over other weapons in trade for a low durability. For those of you who haven't played Demon's Souls, the game had a 'Scraping spear' that was used in PVP to counter Katana-wielding players by damaging their equipped items every time it landed a hit. Having a shield that damaged weapons every time it was struck would be amazing. To counter that, though, it would have to have low durability and stability itself; and given the dangers of being guard broken in Souls 3, it'll be strictly a tactical choice, not a meta.
Use something else like Heavenly Thunder, WotG, or Blinding Bolt. Those are still deadly as fuck.
Oh my god, i'm so scared how they're gonna work in DS3 and i swear they'll be in somehow.
Man, I wish Steam allowed hatemail. I got some from a guy who added me shortly after Dark Souls 2 first launched. He, like me, was a bell tower covenant invader, and he was besides himself with rage because I refused to gank a solo player trying to make his way through the bell tower. I waited till the player had killed the first invader (Who was a chugging hexer scrub) let him heal, did the bow thing, and then quickly dispatched him with a guard break riposte. Then I get added and get hate mail from the other belltower invader. I was so goddamn happy.
Leave your Steam profile open to comments, problem solved. :v:
Also really hoping that Dark Souls 3 has an equivalent of Ring of the Living. I have no problems whatsoever giving up one or more ring slots to appear as a normal human rather than a phantom when I invade. Fashion Souls above all else.
Well you are supposed to use the bonfires, the game is balanced around that.
I love it when they place a horde of equipment breaking bugs all around your camp fire that respawn every time you use the bonfire best part is when they block your way so you HAVE to go through them [editline]18th March 2016[/editline]
Man, I wish Steam allowed hatemail. The one thing I want the most is for everything to be viable. I hated showing up to online DS2 just one week short of them nerfing the fuck out of miracles and making one of my first builds just not fun to play halfway through the game. DS3 balance team should take risks by making everything equally strong rather than equally weak, or change things up somehow so PvP balance doesn't hinder PvE balance.

Let's not make it a one hit kill-a-thon, that'd be dumb.
I actually enjoyed some options being underpowered. From a pve standpoint. It made a fists run in ds1 much more tense than in ds2. [editline]18th March 2016[/editline] But that's probably a niche opinion
Wait I thought you stayed human when you die in Ds3
I mean invade other people's worlds and still look exactly like you do in your own, without the phantom color overlay. That's what the Ring of the Living in Souls 2 did.
Oh then fuck yeah dude, i used that shit ALL the time
I really hope they add that in the base game. If it isn't there, at least we may see it as DLC.
So I tried out the Falchion moveset for the first time in Souls 1 today. And realized for the first time what a cheap cheese Oro's build was, the bastard. No way am I using something that easy. Also, an amusing YouTube comment on one of Yukas's videos, in which he gets rekt repeatedly by Oro:
Oroboro: R1 King Parrier of Worlds Weller of What is its Gentleman Scholar Nerd•
Oroboro is funny as fuck. He made the falchion build to combat backstab fishers.
I only fought him once with Steelheart Ellie build, sadly the level differences were big since his Blacksteel Katana cut me 3 hits :v:
I like Oro. [editline]18th March 2016[/editline] I've fought him a couple of times in Dark Souls 2 - at least I think it was him; same fighting style, same outfit with the havel gloves and keeper's set. The first time, I don't think he anticipated just how good the BKGS is with its ridiculous reach. The second, he parried and rekt me.
I fought Yukaslegion only once in DS2; he randomly invaded me when I was farming titanite chunks in the belltower, but I killed him pretty easily. That was the only time I ever met a "popular" streamer though. Probably because most of them play on the PS4 only.
Watching Dark Souls III pre-release footage, and seeing these people play poorly is an abstract kind of suffering.
It could be worse. They could be japanese streamers. You have bad gameplay with bonus incessant "OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO".
DS3 PC settings from the IGN stream [t]http://i.imgur.com/6mTtUvb.jpg[/t] some go off, most go low, med, high, max nothing special, really
Hold on a tick. IGN is streaming the PC version? In 60FPS?
Gonna be over in an hour but they're streaming it on youtube right now
Stream is 30fps, but the game seems to be a stable 60.
Sorry if I'm late but what do we know about coop ? Will it be the same as DS2 or is it a better one ?
Oh sweet, IGN is recording their PC stream in 1080p60fps without the facecam overlay or narration and uploading it later
Sorry if I'm late but what do we know about coop ? Will it be the same as DS2 or is it a better one ?
DS1, also including the password system from Bloodborne.
