I'm a bit hesitant to cheat in the medallions or the sword, since I don't want to be VAC banned, any advice on what to do?

From what I understand with Cheat Engine you can get soft banned from fucking with with your soul levels or memory. So just pop souls if you want to level up quick. Also appearently they check certain items against progress, so if you have day the Faraam set before you visit the Castle you can get soft banned. Which seems retarded but it's something I heard even though that'd mean you could get soft banned if someone dropped you gear.
getting back into phantoming and pvp and I still have my 'jazz' I will say hexes are still as fucking dumb as I remember

I should technically have the sword at that point. I'm only doing it because I've had extremely bad luck finding players to help and farming it off of Falconers is frustrating [editline]20th March 2016[/editline] Is there a guide to it anyhow? It felt a lot easier in DS1 to do it, but I can't seem to get it working
Yo, my PS4 died (rip my pretty white PS4) and I've decided I won't be replacing it since I rarely used it to begin with. This leaves me with both the CE Guides for Bloodborne and the Old Hunters. Anyone interested (buy, trade, w/e)? They're lightly used, but Amazon sucks when it comes to shipping books and dinged some of the corners. US only and shipping would be free. PM me~
Man I sure hope the PVP in DS3 is smooth. I've been trying to get into the PVP in DS2 but by God it's extremely discouraging. I get swiped and damaged by people who aren't even close enough to me, get pulled into backstabs midroll, and then watch in pain each time I swing at someone and hear the sound of them being hit, only to have them roll a second later and take no damage. I can't tell if the netcode and hitboxes are really as bad as everyone says they are or if I just really suck somehow. :surrender:

Quite an achievement. But it looks tighter in DS3.

Netcode in the series has been complete garbage since the very beginning. If they've improved it for DS3, I will be jolly shocked indeed. I wouldn't count on it, though. I'm going to expect the functional-but-finicky nature we get in BB currently.
Nothing says stupid more than getting back stabbed from across the room.
I just don't know what you're talking about. This is what a typical PVP encounter looked like for me:
Fairly sure i've said this before but Dark Souls 1 really wasn't as bad when it came to lag, better that DkS2 anyway.
Fairly sure i've said this before but Dark Souls 1 really wasn't as bad when it came to lag, better that DkS2 anyway.
Instead it suffered from stupidly exploitable backstabs. Literally run up to their side without targeting and bam, free instant backstab.

In Dks2 i would pray everytime that roll could save my ass even if the person seems to be far away, i'll never trust the "let me lightly punch your back" animation. (Punch back animation online results backstab even if you're on their face while offline with NPC invaders is a guaranteed instant kill without animation) Bloodborne? Teleport fest so i'm glad you needed to charge because guns were enough.
Instead it suffered from stupidly exploitable backstabs. Literally run up to their side without targeting and bam, free instant backstab.
That's why Dark Souls 3 is potentially better than both Souls 1 and Souls 2. Players will be able to roll out of backstabs at least as well as they could in Souls 2. And larger, more damaging weapons are going to have larger windup animations for their backstabs, meaning more time to escape, and more opportunity to punish it. You won't see scrubs backstab fishing with gigantic weapons like you did in Souls 1.
Yeah for once, it looks like backstab fishing will be incredibly punished, since it locks you into the actual animation without locking the victim in place. The combat in general just looks a lot more fluid. Although, if it doesn't lock the victim in place for the backstab, wouldn't that technically make the backstab able to hit anything that comes into the hitbox? It could become a facestab :v: I'm just dreading the thought of assholes finding overpowered and obnoxious builds again. I did not appreciate being called a chugging scrub in DkS2 when I get invaded by a butterfly man holding a poison Manslayer who just has to poison me and then run away, while telling me that honor guys don't heal in duels.

The awesome spells from DS2 are gonna be in 3 right? Its one of the few things I like in 2 over 1
Having to wait till DS3 makes every other game I try to play too boring or frustrating, no matter how fun they actually are. Truly, walking this land in wait, that's the real curse.
I made a pledge not to buy any games until Dark Souls 3 because I knew it would absorb my life. I should also get around to playing beating Bloodborne at some point.
21 days, 21 painful days.
I'm obviously dick-waving here, but I want to see how many others here play Dark Souls the same way I do. 1. No Phantom summons for help with a boss, because it's always more satisfying when I defeat said boss solo. The only time I made an exception was for Zallen and Lud, because I played through the DLCs for the first time on NG+2, and the wave of bullshit I had to wade through to get to them didn't make their boss fight any easier. 2. No cheesing. I use the same weapons for PVE that I use for PVP; a med shield, a greatsword (Claymore, usually) and a bow. I do keep a pyromancy flame equipped in Dark Souls 2 so that I can cast Flame Weapon - only if my opponent buffs. In Dark Souls 1 that's Darkmoon Blade. 3. Honourable invasions. If I invade a player who is fighting mobs, I usually let them finish. If they take a panic swing at me, I back off, wait for them to get done, and don't interfere unless they ignore the mobs and come after me. 4. No ganking. If I'm in a covenant like the bellbros and I'm summoned to a world that already has a phantom in it, I wait for the host to either defeat or be killed by the other phantom. If said host wins, I give them time to heal before I begin. If I invade a world that has multiple white phantoms aiding the host, and these phantoms are spell spamming and chugging when I damage them, I usually just stop fighting and mock gesture until they kill me. Hate to give them the satisfaction. 5. If I manage to pull off a medium shield parry in Dark Souls 2 before my opponent has damaged me, I never follow up that first parry, but bow instead. No fun if the fight ends too early. 6. Fashion souls above all else. I always use the ring of the Living in Dark Souls 2, and in Dark Souls 1, unless I'm farming for souls and items I can always be found med-rolling in an Elite Knight set, complete with crest shield. 7. No meta builds. I like to be challenged, and refuse to tryhard in PVP. I usually go with whatever I think looks good and feels good to use.
I go for whatever I can find that hits the hardest and makes people the maddest
Mechanics (weapon infusion) spoiler for Dark Souls 3: Mother fucking [sp]Refined Gems.[/sp] I don't know how many of you guys know this, but the item description for the [sp]gems[/sp] confirmed that it's an infusion path for [sp]quality builds - better STR and DEX scaling.[/sp] Waiting for this game is killing me...
just get the biggest weapon u can find and do whatever u want its the only way to play
3, 4, 5
honor is for chumps. kingdoms are built upon the salt of angry hosts
Is it bad that the only online stuff I've ever done is Gravelording and coop? Actually invading players and messing them up makes me feel really guilty.
