6. Fashion souls above all else. I always use the ring of the Living in Dark Souls 2, and in Dark Souls 1, unless I'm farming for souls and items I can always be found med-rolling in an Elite Knight set, complete with crest shield.
I've seen a number of people say they wished that armour didn't have stats so they could wear the armour that looks best. I think these people have a fundamental misunderstanding of fashion souls, fashion is about disregarding stats entirely to look good. Heavy armour should protect you more than a leather coat, fashion souls means you suck it up an accept that you won't have 400 defence in every stat. In fact for me the fact that Bloodborne made all the clothing have virtually identical stats annoyed the hell out of me. No matter what I wore it felt like I was wearing the same thing because every armour piece has 70-90 defence in everything. Sure you could wear whatever you wanted and not have to worry about your defence, but what you wore didn't matter at all for physical attacks.
I just hope to continue Havel's legacy into Dark Souls 3.
stuff
Join the club dude, except I don't use shields so when I parry I use righty-ho! instead of bowing

Currently rolling Alonne Knight armor, Elite Knight leggings, and Archdrake Gloves. They're pretty nice.
i will wear armor that has 0 defense if it looks cool
list
1 is usually because in the first place having phantoms gives the boss more health and I don't feel like dragging this session of using me as its toilet tissue for much longer. fucking fume knight i don't even know how to do a number 2 unless aforementioned fume knight is doing it on me 6 is always a thing in all games 5 fuck that they came at me first and going by the laws of Isaac Newton An object that stays in motion is going to get my Bone fist in the dick
Game Morals List
I play the same way, p much. Esp. No meta, and fashion souls. I am an asshole however, and sometimes gank with a friend of mine. He usually summons me, we spar, then we wait for invaders or other summons. Sometimes it's a impromptu fight club, sometimes we gank someone we don't like. He's recorded some videos of us. I'm Sir Caius. I cringe over my demeanor a little. I'm not as much of a showman as he is
I'm obviously dick-waving here, but I want to see how many others here play Dark Souls the same way I do. 1. No Phantom summons for help with a boss, because it's always more satisfying when I defeat said boss solo. The only time I made an exception was for Zallen and Lud, because I played through the DLCs for the first time on NG+2, and the wave of bullshit I had to wade through to get to them didn't make their boss fight any easier. 2. No cheesing. I use the same weapons for PVE that I use for PVP; a med shield, a greatsword (Claymore, usually) and a bow. I do keep a pyromancy flame equipped in Dark Souls 2 so that I can cast Flame Weapon - only if my opponent buffs. In Dark Souls 1 that's Darkmoon Blade. 3. Honourable invasions. If I invade a player who is fighting mobs, I usually let them finish. If they take a panic swing at me, I back off, wait for them to get done, and don't interfere unless they ignore the mobs and come after me. 4. No ganking. If I'm in a covenant like the bellbros and I'm summoned to a world that already has a phantom in it, I wait for the host to either defeat or be killed by the other phantom. If said host wins, I give them time to heal before I begin. If I invade a world that has multiple white phantoms aiding the host, and these phantoms are spell spamming and chugging when I damage them, I usually just stop fighting and mock gesture until they kill me. Hate to give them the satisfaction. 5. If I manage to pull off a medium shield parry in Dark Souls 2 before my opponent has damaged me, I never follow up that first parry, but bow instead. No fun if the fight ends too early. 6. Fashion souls above all else. I always use the ring of the Living in Dark Souls 2, and in Dark Souls 1, unless I'm farming for souls and items I can always be found med-rolling in an Elite Knight set, complete with crest shield. 7. No meta builds. I like to be challenged, and refuse to tryhard in PVP. I usually go with whatever I think looks good and feels good to use.
i agree with you on 1, 2 and 6. it's kill or be killed, and the sooner the better.
God I can't stand the wait anymore. I can't endure a month. I'm not just going to spoil myself. I'm going to roll over the spoilers and make them my body. I have gone hollow.
what do they even call the "hollow" state in ds3 if you even are one, since they call it "kindled" or whatever this time around you seem more than human maybe the normal state will be "nacho" and the kindled state will be "spicy nacho" [editline]20th March 2016[/editline] and the dancer will be cool ranch
Big list of things
1 and 2 are cardinal rules for me as well, but when it comes to PvP, honor is for red soapstone signs and dragon duelists. Whether someone barges in on me uninvited or if I crash a party myself, I expect nothing short of total anarchy.
Man I dunno if I wanna roll with a fist build or a ninja katana bro build for my first playthrough. I suppose it kinda boils down to how early in the game I can get my hands on a pair of Caestuses. In DS1 you got em' from Andre and in DS2 the hag merchant had them, which were both early game. Wonder if they're continue that tradition... Ugh this wait is killing me.
1-7.
I think i do everything but 2/5, i make it my mission to beat the game ng-ng+7 solo no summons, im not exactly big on pvp, and i prefer challenge runs over anything else. I say no to the second since some of my challenge runs ironically turned into cheese runs. Sorccery only in DeS/DaS for example, hard start, but ez mode begins shortly after.
I'm hearing that in Souls 3 you'll get them fairly early on.
Oh yes that is very good news if it's true then. Wanna continue decking people real bad.
Oh yes that is very good news if it's true then. Wanna continue decking people real bad.
The weapon art for them [sp]boosts defense and poise for a limited time[/sp], it's awesome.
DS3 is on the BB engine right? Is it confirmed to run better? Will it run better because there won't be hair and cloth flopping around on every enemy?
Nothing says stupid more than getting back stabbed from across the room.
I've been stabbed from 200+ feet before AKA I ran towards the final boss door and was instantly teleported back [editline]21st March 2016[/editline]
I'm obviously dick-waving here, but I want to see how many others here play Dark Souls the same way I do. 1. I usually phantom before a fight to practice and level a shit load. This makes it easier but still very fun. After that I either solo it or get some help 2. I don't cheese because I only go with PVP weapons for PVE, AKA, Zweihander / Dagger or short sword, and magic / old whip. I like keeping to a sword or dagger and pulling the zweihander out when I need it. The old whip is the finisher. I always like being prepared 3. Honorable dragon duels, don't bother redstoning myself but usually when I summon reds I'm chill. When I'm invaded however I fucking ganksquad ASAP 4. Ganking is OK as a bell bro because fuck it. As a dragon bro, I always bow but usually when people try to gank me before I spawn I'll fuck them up and leave a comment on their profile like "Lmao" the funny thing about ganking too is whenever I'm invaded, I'll always see the invaders use the ancient method of luring me into a trap. Instead I patiently wait for them to come back, or use a tree giant seed, maybe summon a few phantoms and wait. 5. Usually I avoid backstabs personally, but only if the fight is solid 7. Dark souls is all about using a weapon that feels right, above anything
Couldn't make any progress with the hunter's axe. Made it a little bit farther with the saw cleaver. I am fucking unstoppable with the threaded cane. [sp]I just restarted today with the cane and effortlessly killed the cleric beast and father gascoigne. The reach of the cane is unreal. I want one in real life. :< Oh, and fuck that guy with the chaingun in Old Yharnam. Nearly lost 10k echoes due to his bullshittery, and his difficulty in a fight is unreal. [/sp]

It sure as hell doesn't hurt that the armor's got great physical and fire protection, but I'd wear it anyway even were that not the case.
One thing I really hope for is no Flynn's ring-- it's really awesome but I can't get myself to get rid of it, and it seriously restricts my fashion

I recently finished a co-op fun run with my buds in DS1. I was cosplaying as Solaire and I got this kickass pic among many others at the end. [t]http://i.imgur.com/YhStUum.jpg[/t] I have become grossly incandescent.
Even I haven't managed that. Grats. How many NG+ playthroughs did that take?
I got the covenant ones over a few different runs but the rest was on one character. it took me up to NG++.
