Hey hey hey, looks like From isn't as happy as you guys to just completely ignore twinks [sp] キャラクターのレベル帯および武器強化レベルによるマッチングとなります。前作DARK SOULS Ⅱの総獲得ソウル量でのマッチングではありません。 Matchmaking is based on character's level range and weapon reinforcement level. It's not the Soul Memory matchmaking used in Dark Souls 2. [/sp] Regarding solo invasions and how to be eligible for them, [sp]By using Dried Fingers when in the LoC mode, you can be invaded solo. Can dark spirits only invade the world of host with white phantoms like in the Network Test? No. Under certain conditions such as host in the Lord of Cinder using Dried Fingers, it is possible to invade the world where no white phantoms present. However, dark spirit will never have an advantage in number. [/sp] Finally, conditions for RSS PvP, [sp]Red Sign Soapstone confirmed, and you can summon them even if you are not in the LoC mode and even after the area boss defeated! You can summon by touching red summon sign that summons dark spirit. You can still summon dark spirits in an area where the area boss defeated. Also you can touch red summon sign even if you are not in the Lord of Cinder mode. [/sp] edit: nice fbi files page king
That's awesome. So essentially[sp]If you're solo and use dried fingers you get an honorabu 1v1 duel, but if you summon and use dried fingers then it's essentially chaos with shitloads of phantoms/dark spirits pouring in? I remember some dark spirits turning up as backup for me in the NT[/sp] [editline]22nd March 2016[/editline] Still,[sp]even though I'm not a huge fan of PvP it seems like invasions could be pretty limited if the invadee has to opt-in. Then again in DS2 I don't think I got invaded a single time in my first playthrough[/sp]
ehhh? that's what the "human" mode is called? i'm still calling it spicy nacho
[sp]The fact that you can't get invaded at all if you don't go out of your way to allow it bothers me. They're fucking called invasions not invitations. You should be open to invasions as long as you have an ember, with coop and dried fingers making you more vulnerable to them. They had better give us the dried finger early in the game.[/sp]
[sp] Where did they say that you were unable to be invaded at all? From what i understand from that statement it's saying that the dried fingers only make it so that you can only be invaded by a single red phantom as opposed to the rare two, while you don't have a white phantom of your own. When he disagrees and says it's possible to invade with using dried fingers I'm thinking he's saying that you CAN invade people at random but at the cost of still having white phantoms in the invasion and didn't acknowledge it because it's a staple of the games and it'd be guaranteed to be there, while dried fingers would eliminate that factor against the red phantom. Albeit from what i see, the red phantom isn't able to invade single players or not. [/sp]
[sp]What about Darkmoons then? Same rule?[/sp]
I'm not going to spoil what you guys are discussing but may I ask, why the hell is it in spoiler tags? This is a game mechanic we are talking about and a really important one at that. I feel spoilers should be reserved for things like the achievements, not something that might make a person not buy the game at all.
People are going to freak the fuck out and I'll get banned. I honestly couldn't give two fucks about spoilers since at the end of the day it's not me playing the game, but you have no idea how people get. Even if it's a mechanical thing that has zero relevance to anything I'd rather not take the risk.
[sp]The fact that you can't get invaded at all if you don't go out of your way to allow it bothers me. They're fucking called invasions not invitations. From actually countering twinks makes me so happy. The invasion limitations are indeed kinda shitty but I'm all for player choice.[/sp]
on the topic of korean cartoons, i just hope that katanas actually keep the quality of fragile and fast instead of fast and able to chop a havel down in 5 seconds tops. shit even using the washing pole with that durability shit 3 hits were all you needed out of that 20 durability
I just hope the katana's movesets are improved visually your character instantly has the expertise and grace of a master swordsman whenever he picks up a new weapon, but when he picks up a katana with every swing he bashes it against the ground like a fucking animal

I'm not going to buy it until GOTY edition with all the DLC came out. Also it looks like FROMSOFTWARE learned a thing or two from Windows, who managed to sell the same reskinned OS thrice
I just hope the katana's movesets are improved visually your character instantly has the expertise and grace of a master swordsman whenever he picks up a new weapon, but when he picks up a katana with every swing he bashes it against the ground like a fucking animal
no you see every katana you pick up is secretly coated in a special regenerating gunpowder that ignites when you make a sparking contact with the ground and only explodes silently and invisibly when you make contact with another surface aka the enemy this is why they do so much damage to heavy armored enemies because what From didnt tell you is that heavy armor has an extreme weakness to explosive damage which is what all katanas do god have you just started playing yesterday i figured this out the moment i picked up my nippon toothpick
I suggest appending every spoiler with a "type" or something similar. For example: [sp]cool mechanic[/sp] [mechanic]

What if the player simply switches to twinked gear after the invasion?[/sp] [Invasion mechanics] [editline]22nd March 2016[/editline] It sounds like the changes are going to make fight clubs a lot easier to organize, though, and I love that.
uh I guess we're spoiler tagging all this shit even though it just pertains to invasion mechanics [sp]do weapon reinforcement levels have to match? if it's "invade any host with a weapon at the same _or higher_ reinforcement level as your weapon", then wont that just create twinking hosts waiting around with +10 weapons? if not, and reinforcement levels have to be _exactly_ the same, then won't invasions be too uncommon? will invaders have to keep a weapon of _every_ level and switch between them until they finally find an invasion?[/sp] this seems like a severely half-assed fix and just another way to hurt invaders
uh I guess we're spoiler tagging all this shit even though it just pertains to invasion mechanics [sp]do weapon reinforcement levels have to match? if it's "invade any host with a weapon at the same _or higher_ reinforcement level as your weapon", then wont that just create twinking hosts waiting around with +10 weapons? if not, and reinforcement levels have to be _exactly_ the same, then won't invasions be too uncommon? will invaders have to keep a weapon of _every_ level and switch between them until they finally find an invasion?[/sp] this seems like a severely half-assed fix and just another way to hurt invaders
I'm more concerned about the fact that pursuant to the invasion changes, it looks like [sp]invading a host who doesn't already have a gank squad summoned is going to be super rare from now on.[/sp]
Invasion [sp]limitations sounds hokey on paper, but watch as they release the game and it feels different for the better. I also like that they're keeping invaders at least on the same level as the hosts to prevent high level invaders from killing low level hosts[/sp]. Back to the trophy list. This time it's character speculation based on the design(lore this early? I'm a madman!). [sp]The Nameless King looks like a hollow with flowing grey hair riding a dragon that looks a bit like Manus. Look at the crusts on his head, the color of the body, and the scale patterns. Think he might be the reincarnation of the Furtive Pygmy, so easily forgotten? I mean in DS1, Kaathe did say he waited for the Flame to fade before making a move. Think the great-great-great-granddaddy of Humanity is making his big move? It looks like he's ready to conquer.[/sp] I should probably stop until the game properly releases. :v: Oroboros is gonna stream the full game on Twitch on the 24th, so be careful.
They ought to have made it so that [sp]LOC mode[/sp] always put you at risk of being invaded, whether [sp]solo or with summons.[/sp] [editline]22nd March 2016[/editline] In fact, willing to bet that'll turn out to be the case anyway. As it should be. I'm absolutely positive that something has been lost in translation, because we know that the [sp]Blue Sentinels and Way of Blue[/sp] covenants exist. What would be their purpose if [sp]a host couldn't be randomly invaded when he had no backup?[/sp]
It had nothing whatsoever to do with screen shake and everything to do with the speed of the swing and the animation. Watch the videos I linked earlier, the Souls 2 character handles that comically large sword like it's made of plastic. .
Yea the change from hand made animations to mo-cap was weird, that was a problem too.
One thing I really hope for is no Flynn's ring-- it's really awesome but I can't get myself to get rid of it, and it seriously restricts my fashion
14 vitality is far more than enough to use a good range of stuff, so long as you avoid armors [editline]22nd March 2016[/editline]
I ASSUME they worked the math out so that it's based on how much damage the weapon does combined with how much damage the character does AKA maybe good weapons low level VS bad weapons high level
That would be very, very bad. Not all weapons are supposed to be equal.
That would be very, very bad. Not all weapons are supposed to be equal.
come to think of it yeah actually that would be a fucking nightmare to balance especially when a dagger can be more effective when used right than an UGS which does significantly far more damage I was more thinking damage-per-second but even that doesn't work

[editline]22nd March 2016[/editline] Gents, do we really need to spoiler game mechanics that don't actually have any bearing whatsoever on the story?
so do you think if I can run scholar of the first sin maxed out at 60fps I should be able to manage ds3 at 60 on medium or something? I'm only on a laptop and I was planning on waiting till I'm back home to get it, but a few things are making me think it might be quite optimized so I'm willing to risk it. Might just buy it on steam and refund it if it doesn't run well maybe.

I'm honestly not convinced I'll run it that great but I'm getting increasingly tempted to at least try, I'd settle for low/medium as long as I could make 60fps I guess, it looks too smooth for any less.
nice fbi files page king
do you have a source for this info btw
im watching a twitch stream and i cant stop myself send help
Got a link? I can't stop either. I should not be looking, but the sweet temptation of spoilers. I...I think I'm going Hollow. :dead:
Blue sentinels with actually being able to be summoned by the ring will be my biggest wish
Getting invaded while in LoC mode reminds me of Demon's (in which I've never won a single PvP fight and instantly lose my humanity after every boss, but it is an old game with veteran players) I'm conflicted though since I love PvP videos and all the related hilarity that comes out of it. All in all I'm mostly glad that DeS/DS1 style invasions have come back
