i still want to do an archery/throwing weapon only run now that they've made throwing knives faster and cooler and archery isn't as slow and awkward
Throwing knife and katana run for the ultimate weeb experience.
Throwing knife and katana run for the ultimate weeb experience.
katana sword art that makes you run leaning forward with your arms at your sides :v:
Are the keyboard and mouse controls on point this time ? The awful mouse delay in DS was killing me.
Are the keyboard and mouse controls on point this time ? The awful mouse delay in DS was killing me.
PC isn't released yet anywhere except for some popular streamers. Doubt they're playing with pc controls though.
What I want to know is if DS3 has native support for Dual Shock 4. I don't want to buy an official PC-supported Xbox-controller for the 5 games I use it on. I also would prefer if I didn't have to use wonky drivers to trick my PC into thinking the DS4 is an Xbox-controller. Especially since I have to fuck around a ton with Win 10 to even get it to work properly (Exclusive mode).
I hope DS3 wont have such bosses as Kalameet. That fucker is so annoying, he is TOO unpredictable and may decide to do the attack which you might be not able to dodge, his melee attacks STILL damage even if their animation almost end and his unpredictability ruined potentially 2 successful fights were i got him to low health as SL1 NG+. Artorias and Manus(after i relearned how to read and avoid his magic attacks) were much easier for me. Also, dogs , THE DOGS, they make me mad even more.
Kalameet was 100% optional though and blocked no paths,I think he was supposed to be insanely difficult
I know that he is optional, i just want to defeat him after how i cheesed him in NG, even cheesing wasn't easy because of his unpredictability. And i wont even bother with duo guardians since it can be even harder due to how sanctuary guardian is hyperaggressive. And in truth, i just want to give up if the same potentially successful fight will fail because of his RNG or even sooner.
I saw Vaati kick Peeve's ass in PVP last night. And using the dual maces from the ign trailer, too. Hate to come across as an asshole, but there was no RNG involved. You're just bad. And you know what? That's fine. Everyone comes across that one boss that gives them a lot of trouble. Just don't blame the game for your failings, though, that's dumb.

What about giving up, actually i was i considering it even before but because of how much time i spent on him, i wont do it.

It's a fairly simple matter to dodge his melee and close range breath attacks, but to punish him you've got to bait out his long range attack, get in close, and beat on him. There are strategy videos on YouTube you can use.
I had lots of trouble with all of the other AotA bosses, but I think I beat Kalameet first try. He killed me once before Gough shot him down, but I think that's how you get him to do that?

Right now i fucked up so bad, 1 attack was left to kill him, i somehow missed because of greed and after it he used the attack that debuffs.
He killed me once before Gough shot him down, but I think that's how you get him to do that?
It's unnecessary for Kalameet to kill you for Gough to shoot him down, what is enough, it is for Kalameet to appear and then you can flee.

Keep at it, winning at last is going to be a real relief.
Uh, apparently you can whiff backstabs in DS3, was it already known?
Uh, apparently you can whiff backstabs in DS3, was it already known?
Yeah, already confirmed.
Uh, apparently you can whiff backstabs in DS3, was it already known?
You can also parry kicks
do throwing-knives still scale with dex like in Bloodborne?
[sp]Does it say it's locked or does it say doesn't open from this side? I think there is one in that area that you drop down into from above.[/sp]

There's a hell of a lot of locked doors. I'm using the translate app on my phone and it definitely mentions a key Gonna call it a night, will scour this area again tomorrow but man I thought I picked it clean. Definitely need more keys, but where to get them?
OK I read a wiki walkthrough for the area and[sp]you do have to drop into the room with the estus soup. Guess I'll take a more thorough look tonight.[/sp]Seems like it's much easier to get lost in this game compared to DS2, there's loads of people posting asking where to go next haha Every single area is so dense
You can also parry kicks
Is the animation different, like falling on your ass, or is it the same as with a weapon? :v:
Is the animation different, like falling on your ass, or is it the same as with a weapon? :v:
If only. It's the same.
Is the animation different, like falling on your ass, or is it the same as with a weapon? :v:
i'd have to go back to make sure but I'm pretty sure it's the same as with a weapon.
DS3 parrying came up earlier, got some hands on time with various methods of it, tagging it just in case:[sp]Medium shields get a DS2-esque delay. It feels less sluggish though. Small shields that get the buckler parry animation are DS1-style: no, or very little delay. I like it, it means medium shields are no longer the do-it-all shields they used to be. You can still parry with them, but it's easier to use a small shield for it with the tradeoff that you really don't want to block much with it.[/sp]
do throwing-knives still scale with dex like in Bloodborne?
Yeah still A scaling
Honestly fucking bummed about this staggered release shit. It's a community based game and the suits are ruining it with this 'delay shit so we get all the cash inflow right as this next fiscal year starts and we look more successful' even tho the game is 110% completed. I can vaguely understand why you'd do that but if that's legit not the reason then whoever made the decision to pointlessly delay things is a fucking scumbag.
Yeah still A scaling
It's a shame there's no strength scaling throwables. Wish I could chuck rocks at people's heads
THERE, I fucking finally beat the NG+ SL1 Kalameet! [t]http://images.akamai.steamusercontent.com/ugc/298734800434513441/3005B2189386E17C4E3E0DC28D98BDD41408C521/[/t] Now i'm free and can go beat gwyndolin and the gwyn!

Good job, man.
sl1 with pyromancies is quite a breeze
Sure, that's right, but doesn't really make it much easier for some bosses. Like NG+ 4Kings which is pretty much a DPS race and you would most likely want some additional damage there if you don't have a fast and/or very damaging weapon.
