It truly is a dark day when you realize "WOOOOOOOOOOOW" Man got to play the game before you.

At least I can get gud.
i am good and i was playing before him i am the true winner
I bet you he grinds off camera, dispite saying he wouldn't. I've only seen him play for 5 minutes and i think he's trying good old styled Royalty Soul Arrow shenanigans to get through. May be completely wrong though.
I dont think he beat the Old Hunters dlc for Bloodborne.

He never did. Couldn't beat Ludwig because he was NG+ and kept trying to heal while Ludwig was open to attack . Called the boss "cheap and unfair" too. THAT was so terrible I think it tops his Demon's Souls encounter with the Old Monk in terms of rage quit.
I doubt he'll survive DS3 through magic alone since the enemies seem more melee aggressive and hunt in groups ala The Old Hunters.
so is playing the Japanese version on ps4 through to the end with all the Japanese text (barring all the english dialogue/etc) viable for a good lore experience or should I get some translator app? I'm getting tempted to do it
Well obviously not because you can't read anything, but you can play the game fine.
How much do we know about covenants yet? can anyone give me a quick overview?
I'm afraid to ask, but is throwing Dung Pies a viable strategy to defeat the majority of the bosses in Dark Souls?
Just asking, OF COURSE.

You can use them to kill Capra from outside of his arena, some bosses are immune to it though.

You can't poison many bosses. Gwyn, the Lords Souls bosses, Kalameet, Ceaseless, Gaping Dragon, Iron Golem, Artorias, Manus, and the Moonlight Butterfly are all immune to poison. Quelaag is also immune to poison but she can be inflicted with toxic so dung pie might work, you'll need a lot of dung pies for the bosses you can poison.
I'm over 200 hours into Bloodborne and I am still entirely enraptured. It is like a religious pilgrimage. :joy:
I never really expected all of this out of the game. Every single time I play I learn or find something I hadn't noticed before. I never thought I'd say it but I think Bloodborne is From's magnum opus by a lot. It's now my most played "Souls" game. And I -still- haven't seen the whole thing as far as chalice dungeons go.
Also, is it frowned upon to post streams in this thread? I might stream my brother and myself delving deep into the chalice dungeons here in a bit. I'm currently struggling with BSB in Ailing Loran Layer 2.

Several others do it so go ahead.
The fact that I probably won't ever own a PS4 makes me sad that I'll probably never play Bloodborne.
Is it just me or is Cursed Pthumerian Defilement the hardest thing in all of Bloodborne?

It's such a shame that it won't come to PC considering how impressive it looks on PS4. I bought the PSquatro specifically for Bloodborne and Silent Hills so you're not much worse off than me.

Even if you don't own a PS4 now, in my opinion, Bloodborne is one of the games you will want to pick up when the PS4 phases out of production and is being sold for pennies on the dollar.
Sheer excellence of game design.
I managed to finally kill Darkbeast Paarl (difficult for the level you first find it, even for a souls game), and Vicar Amelia.
The rifle spear takes NO prisoners. The thought of having it along with the Reiterpallasch... :hypeisreal:
stake driver for coolest BB weapon
Anyone know of any sites selling DS3 at a lower price?
Without spoiling anything for those of you who don't want to be spoiled, I've been watching streams for the last two days.
Holy shit, guys. This game is like a love letter to Demon's Souls, Dark Souls, and Dark Souls 2, taking the best parts out of all of them and refining the mechanics further.
The netcode looks pretty great. Hit detection over high latency is a bit janky - you can smack the spot where a lagging phantom was a half second ago and still damage him or her - but as a tradeoff, things like the timings for backstabs and parries are really tight - A guy in NA was playing with Japanese players and said it felt like PVE timings.
And the sheer variety of items and weapons, Jesus Christ. The best armour sets from Souls 1 and 2 return, looking more awesome than ever before. The level design is either very open, or downright labyrinthine in a way that even Dark Souls 1 wasn't, and Dark Souls 2 couldn't even dream of being.
Enemy variety and movesets are absolutely off the charts, and the bosses and their soundtracks are awesome.
Hidden things are everywhere for the keen-eyed and sharp-witted, and you could do multiple playthroughs without finding everything.
There are so many gestures, and obtained in so many different ways, that there's no way anyone's found them all yet.
And the game looks gorgeous. - and more challenging than any Soulsborne game that ever came before.
This is it, guys. This is the one we've been waiting for. Peeve's been playing for a total of about 24 hours, without taking his time to thorougly explore, and it doesn't seem like he's more than half way through yet, at best.
This game is going to be the finest Souls game yet - and the best loved. A fitting end to the series.
Dark Souls 1 and Oblivion are my favorite games of all time (with Oblivion being in a slight lead). I haven't played DS3, and I'm a very cautious person, But I believe it will beat out dark souls 1, and potentially oblivion as my favorite game of all time.
Even though I can't read what any of the text says in the Japanese version, Dark Souls III continues to impress me every time.
For those who have played I have one very important question.
[sp]Is the Alva set in game?[/sp]
As seen on [sp]the wiki for all three endings, you need to explore EVERYTHING. Apparently there are NPC's and items that are so hidden that some players were lucky to find them after going back to older stages. That and according to rumors that there is ONE more end boss that's yet to be encountered which I did not spoil for myself.[/sp]
From what I've seen, this looks to be the best looking, the best played, and the best written Souls game not including Bloodborne. This is how it ends; With a bang, and I can't wait for April 12.
Without...
Can confirm. This game is unreal, I mean I got so engrossed in Bloodborne but DS3 is slowly creeping up my favourite game gauge.
I'm currently (mid/late game (?) spoilers)[sp]Fighting Aldritch. Sullivan was a real challenge but this guy seems even harder. The Silver knights in the preceding area are now real twats in this game instead of being sort-of pushovers, I did laugh pretty hard at the reference to a notorious section in DS1 in the level design. Before that I got invaded by a naked man with a katana and he beat my ass. At least the other invader watched rather than joined in, I think they were part of the 'Aldritch Faithful' Covenant. Pretty sure a few areas in this game are summons recommended due to how swiftly you'll get murdered by 'area defense' invaders[/sp]
So far I'd have to say my proudest PvP moment was (midgame area spoilers)[sp]In the catacombs. A dexfag invaded with a katana/great scythe and we chipped each other down until he chickened out and ran to the bridge and cut it. I hadn't been that way before so the three dozen skellies were a surprise. I ran away (shamelessly) and managed to run him into the skelly boulder, I survived but he got 2spooked and didn't. Even recorded it so I might post it at some point. Now every time I see that goofy boulder I laugh[/sp]
anybody in ds3 found a greatsword yet and want to tell me in spoiler tags where it's at? i just want to be guts
I've found it. It's (area spoilers)[sp]In the dark swamp with all the goatmen, on top of a ramp/bridge jutting out of the water at an angle (there's a few items in the area which are in similar looking spots. It's pretty hard to give specific directions, it's so easy to lose your bearings in that place[/sp]

I don't know if it's really spoiler but i went with it, i don't really want to ruin people's surprises, i thought it was funny having it recorded without knowing.
But here's a brief spoiler text for video [sp] The Vanguard\Asylum demon makes it return and it has a butt swipe and grab to make up for its pushover style, also its butt slam is faster[/sp]

[sp]Is the Alva set in game?[/sp]
[sp]I've yet to find the armor, but I got invaded by an NPC with it on, so I'd assume it's out there.[/sp]
Oh, the requirements went up, I'm fucked.
