Apparently in bloodborne you could kill the doll and level up anyway and then the next time you come to the dream she'll have respawned so I wonder if its the same in DS3
Welp, took the plunge and bout SotFS. Still have yet to beat DS1 due to life, but now I can just jump straight in and then get DS3 once I've finished them both.
It isn't so bad any more, but when DkSII first came out, the loading screens were horrendously long. I could get up and get a drink and walk around a little bit before Majula actually loaded. Heaven's forbid if I had to bone back to the bonfire before warping to Majula. Bloodborne's were also pretty long at release, but they are way quicker now if I remember correctly.
Since they've decreased the loading times, I noticed object pop-in. I don't know if it was there before but every time I spawn at the lumenwood garden lamp, the floor is always a low-res texture and takes some time to fully load. Also buildings in the back pop-in depending on where I entered from

I need to know if they're absolute trash.
Hey Forlorn, I know you're trying to prove something you fucking tryhard. But can you not invade me on a set of stairs you fuck. Christ. Is this shitbird meant to spawn in the most aggravating places possible or something?
Man, defiled amygdala can eat one [editline]7th February 2016[/editline] That is the only fight I'd call absolutely unfun

It's like From Software wanted to make another RE3 Nemesis but forgot to give him a story or an explanation.
Man, defiled amygdala can eat one [editline]7th February 2016[/editline] That is the only fight I'd call absolutely unfun
Amygdala becomes easy when you realize you can bait him to do the jumping attack every time you get behind him and tickle his lobster tail. 9/10 times his jump attack misses and it gives you a chance to hit his head with a charge attack.
Born of Aldia's Obsession with the First Sin, the Forlorn lost both their corporeal form and a world to call their own. Now they drift into other worlds, ever in search of a home. But without self, one has neither beginning nor end, and so the Forlorn have only to wander.1
There is all sort of random shite in SotFS, like spiders placed in places where they don't even have collision on the wall, or enemies that have NO IDEA how to navigate the new area that they've been lazily placed in, so they show up for no reason in the wrong place, or float around
Wait you mean forlorn isnt just one guy and is actually multiple? I expected it to be more like another knight kirk like on DS1

(Reunion at the Dark Souls II bosses department) - Hey guys, we just finalized Freja. She's basically a big spider with telegraphed attacks and a laser beam. We weren't sure about the beam at first, but then we thought the player won't see it coming and die. We'll call it a feature- - Are you fucking crazy?! Freja is easy as shit. They won't like her, what should we do?!- - Wait, I know! Let's put inside the boss arena a small pack of those fucking spiders to spice things up and hope it'll make things more difficult to handle - - ... Give this guy a fucking promotion already!-
its basically the Rom fight yet you didnt criticize that i think you just have a hate boner for Dark Souls 2
its basically the Rom fight yet you didnt criticize that i think you just have a hate boner for Dark Souls 2
The first statement it's false The second one is true
"People liked Sif, we should put Sif in this game" "Yeah but we are trying to make this game harder than Dark Souls. That's what the people want" "Have 4 rats standing around that just mob the player and give them toxin if they aren't immediately killed" "Genius"
i kinda hate everything about Seath gameplay-wise
My god royal rat authority made me pull my hair out I hated that one I was so happy that that one was skippable
its basically the Rom fight yet you didnt criticize that i think you just have a hate boner for Dark Souls 2
Rom is so much worse.
its bizzare how bosses in bloodborne go from fucking incredible (maria, ludwig, gascoine, etc) to fucking atrocious (rom, emmisary, a couple of chalice dungeon bosses, amygdala)
"Oh, Heid's tower of Flame? Flame right? Let's put a dragon there for no reason... Outside of the room with THE OLD DRAGONSLAYER" What the fuck is this shit SotFS.
The first statement it's false The second one is true
It's literally Rom. Freja might even be easier since you can completely negate spiders by just using a torch, not to mention they're not invulnerable from the front.
My god royal rat authority made me pull my hair out I hated that one I was so happy that that one was skippable
What, how? The boss is insanely easy, the only problem are the rats and they pull to you 3-4 seconds before the boss even does his lengthy wake up animation. Plus the music is nice Dark Souls 2 is difficult but I can't fathom dying once you get into a boss arena, specially when SotFS even provided you with specific ways to counter add mechanics.
That fight is easy though, take a torch and the spiders are afraid to come close to you
not to mention that they gave her 2 heads so you can go to one side and hit that until all the spiders are on that side and then just move to the other side.

I haven't played SOTFS but Royal Rat Authority is definitely one of the harder bosses pretty much exclusively because of the plague rats. It's optional and I've seen first time players encounter him pretty late but when the game came out people were bitching about it not only being a lazy Sif reskin but a good sign that the Dark Souls 2 team had been focusing on making encounters that were hard for the sake of being hard, rather than thinking about them being fun, challenging, or unique. Personally I only died once to Royal Rat Authority but I think it's a perfect example of why Dark Souls 2 kinda falls short of DkS1 which is why I brought it up. [editline]7th February 2016[/editline]
That fight is easy though, take a torch and the spiders are afraid to come close to you
Beat DkS2 on 3 characters including a NG+2 run and never knew this but I never really had a problem with Freja personally.
I think I died at least three times to Royal Rat Authority, mainly because of the toxic rats, and once to biggu bossu himself. Which was embarrassing as it's essentially a fight against a mentally retarded Sif. Same problem as many of the creature feature bosses really, their legs are the safest place to stay. For being a dude in armour the Looking Glass Knight was kinda interesting I just found out. Especially when you have jackshit magic defence and he insists on using magic attacks the entire fight. Still one-shot him, but it wasn't fun being wrecked by huge balls. And I am safe to assume that all PvP arenas bar the Belfry ones are totally fucked? Because the few times I tried the Knights of Blue PvP arena all my opponents were awfully laggy. So far as to set their names to something appropriately lag related. [editline]7th February 2016[/editline]
You better put something on pages 45 and 47 when we get there. Don't disappoint me. :v:
'aight...time to start writing shitty fanfiction for the first time ever. Gonna need all the pages I can get to actually remember to finish it in time. [sp]it'll be written like...three minutes after i notice its page 45 already no doubt.[/sp]
I'm usually pretty forgiving when it comes to DS2 but the Sotfs version of the Iron Keep and go fuck itself with a +5 zweihander.
I just stumbled across this clip and I only just noticed that the camera is going back to Dark Souls 1 style where it doesn't follow quite as close as it did in Dark Souls 2. It makes the character control feel so much looser. It feels a little weird going back and forth between DS1 and 2 because of it. Also, the kick is back. Thank god. Is anybody here willing to part with a fume sorcerer top in SotFS? I've been farming for two hours now, this is ridiculous. My soul memory is 1,425,051.
