nah. ps4 users salty they aren't playing in english yet trying to find any reason they can to hate on the xbox version if anything it's just a version which has different balance, and they changed some things in 1.01. there is no way its a universal 'less difficult' version. i am playing it and there is no way that is the case. i am near endgame [editline]28th March 2016[/editline] one of the posts says "I've been playing it, and it seems that when you get to the point of where the press weren't allowed to continue, this nerf stops. Things get drastically harder out of nowhere.". so if there's any nerf it stops after like the first level
being near engame, can you give us some idea of how long it is
being near engame, can you give us some idea of how long it is
I THINK I am. I am not sure. but I haven't been grinding but I have been exploring and scavenging items and I have sunk in like 25 hours so far. I think I have a few bosses/areas to go.
The game definitely is shorter though, right? My first DS1 playthrough took me about 42 hours, and my first DS2 playthrough took me about 31. They were both solo(ish).
180ish, then? In the high range. 150 in the low range. Frankly, I don't see builds becoming too unbalanced between 150 and 180, or even at 200.
we'll probably see an increase from 125 to 150 to accomodate for vit + vigor
we'll probably see an increase from 125 to 150 to accomodate for vit + vigor
Oroboro(take it with a grain of salt) is saying that vigor soft caps in the mid-20s, so 120-125 may work just fine.
being near engame, can you give us some idea of how long it is
I'm at 36 hours and encountered the final boss so I know where the end of the game is, thing is I've just discovered yet another optional area (I think the last one in the game) so you can tack a few hours onto that. Probably about 40+ hours first playthrough, though even then It's not like I've combed every single area 100% (I'd say 85-90%), done any of the NPC questlines at all or done any grinding (just helping others with bosses a few times and also wasted time dying). OK so I've just found (optional side-area spoilers)[sp]Archdragon Peak (The sandy/sunny area from the previews)[/sp] Here's how to get there;[sp]You first have to clear the other optional area - i.e. Consumed King's garden (Untended graves, another optional area, comes after this but isn't required - hit the illusory wall behind the chest with all the candles around it) once that's done you should have a new gesture. Go to Irythill Dungeon first bonfire and (If you've opened the shortcut) head straight ahead, turn right, turn left and cross the bridge, then turn left again and drop down. Head through the opened shortcut and down the lift and a group of slumped knights/fossilised dragonoid will be there - same place you find the torso stone. Use the gesture to sit in the empty space on the mat and wait for a cutscene.[/sp] Proof - (Optional area/armour/magic spoilers)
Oh my god i'm pretty sure i'm near the end and i've missed so many things it's driving me crazy. At last i can make another character and do a different build, that's a pro for that... [sp] I totally missed so many NPCs just after the 2 knights from Road of Sacrifices, haven't met almost anybody from there[/sp]
On my reddit thread, so many are suggesting 120 and lower... As low as SL 50.
Also, to whoever was asking whether a certain demon's souls-esque shield seen being wielded by an enemy was usable - [sp]Yup. It's basically Adjudicator's Shield 2.0, even restores health at a small rate (2HP/s)[/sp] Picture - (Shield spoilers)
Someone assembled proof through observing videos and streams that the Xbox 1 version had nerfed difficulty. Enemies seem to have at least 20% less HP on the unpatched Xb1 version of the game, and they deal in some cases less than half the damage that players are receiving on the PS4 and PC. Guess you're going to have to do a second playthrough when the game is patched, Rusty. Interesting read. Imgur album proof, made by Peeve himself Casual Souls confirmed?
Maybe he's watching people play the press copy and not the retail version. I don't know. EDIT: nevermind
APRIL 12 IS SO FUCKING FAR AWAY WHAT THE FUCK
The game definitely is shorter though, right? My first DS1 playthrough took me about 42 hours, and my first DS2 playthrough took me about 31. They were both solo(ish).
I must be the slowest motherfucker in the world coz dark 1 took me 50ish hours and dark 2 took me 60ish and I didn't die on that many bosses in 2
Early on question i suppose... [sp]Can i get more Seigbrau? i drank the one he gave me and i need it for something else[/sp]
I have a DS3 question (minor enemy and weapon spoils): [sp]I seen the enemy with the weapon that is essentially a giant pot. Can we can get that giant pot as a weapon for ourselves? Considering almost all gear enemies use is available to players in past games, I really hope so![/sp]
so what are the chances this dark souls comic will actually be good? judging by the cover i'm already at low expectations. [t]https://cdn2.vox-cdn.com/thumbor/e_mUovsLE4cqZHvVxedjLJhoNYI=/0x0:800x450/1600x900/cdn0.vox-cdn.com/uploads/chorus_image/image/48596553/dark_souls_comic.0.0.jpg[/t] i'd much rather have a series mainly revolving around bonfire discussions, with some combat here and there, and boss fights much more sparse than that.
IM ACTUALLT FUCKING PISSED FUCKING GOD DAMNIT FUCKING DARK SYDE PHIL IS PLAYING THE FUCKING GAME AND IM NOT??? ARE YOU FUCKING SERIOUSSSS
WOWWWW OH MY GAWD
I actually think he's waiting till the 12th for Dark Souls 3, dispite recording at least 5/6 hours. He's been more busy with Pokken and Persona 3 (Which he promised for his Patrions.) I find it kinda funny he's making it more hard for himself by waiting but i wouldnt be surprised if he wanted to be carried by Phantoms again.
WOWWWW OH MY GAWD
CAPS
Ok, I've run into a slight boss problem - I need a ring, if anyone's found it. (Late game optional boss spoilers) [sp]Nameless king is absolutely kicking my ass. Anyone found the thunder stoneplate ring?[/sp] edit: I managed to beat him. Yelling fist pump into the air kind of feeling. [sp]What an absolute badass, it sure would have been a lot easier if I had the lightning resist ring but then I wouldn't have the satisfaction of beating him without it. My heart is really going, that had to have been one of the best boss fights in the series[/sp]

Okay, me saying that Phil might wait till the 12th have been proven to be wrong since he only started streaming DkS3 about 20 minutes ago. Good thing i've gotten so far that i can watch him without fear of spoilers... unless he stumbles across some super secret by himself that i havent found yet. In that case, a preemptive "Well Shit." might be in order.

I'm done watching for now, but he just [sp]used the Young White Branch given by the giant in the tower at the Undead Settlement in an attempt to sneak by the Frost Knight at the bottom of the tower, because he thought "Good friend, no hit" meant that other enemies wouldn't attack him.[/sp] I really want to see a professional psych profile for this guy.

How was the movie trilogy disappointing? I thought it was pretty fucking good. Sure the CGI was all over the place but I think it handled conveying the entire prologue in only 3 movies was pretty well done. [editline]27th March 2016[/editline] Caved in and listened to some of DS3's soundtrack. Maaaaan it's so good. But I have to say, it sounds really...Lord of the Rings-ish.
