:ok:
And that's the launch event over. Played it in glorious 4K 60fps on the PC. Most of the people got up to [sp]Crystal Sage[/sp] or [sp]Curse-rotted great tree[/sp] (No clue which is after the other, only played bits and piece apart from the tutorial).
Also apparently Vaati shittalked me when I was fighting a boss [sp]Crystal sage[/sp], told my friend "He should really being doing x [sp]Hitting the clones instead of going for the real one[/sp]". Screw that guy I steamrolled it right after he left.

Now for the agonizing 6 day wait
Have to say that Dragonslayer Crescent Axe works well with the Faraam statue.
And it's easy to shittalk if you've already beaten :v:
How early on and where can you get the [sp]Ancient Dragon Greatshield[/sp]
I have a mighty need
I've already found my weapon of choice in Dark Souls III (gear spoiler, obviously)
[editline]Today[/editline]
This means I'll have to name my character [sp] Enchanter Elia/Eleias[/sp] or something
those beautiful swords
brings me back to the gold tracer
I have some quick questions about DS3, mostly about online:
1. Are invasions infinite now? In the sense that the invader doesn't need to grind for Cracked Red Eye Orbs and the Host doesn't need to grind Humanities in order to keep online.
2. Hows the netcode? In previous games you would need to leave your game on for a couple of hours on in a location in order to have a chance to finding your friend.
3. Is there any Soul Memory or anything of the sort that stands in the way of being able to play with a friend?
4. Is the torch infinite? I love torches
I dunno if i should preorder the game as I have discount for owning the first game or wait for a sale.

[sp]There are infinite invasion items, but not infinite humanity.[/sp]
2. Hows the netcode? In previous games you would need to leave your game on for a couple of hours on in a location in order to have a chance to finding your friend.
[sp]You can set a password and near instantly summon your friends, just like in bloodborne.[/sp]
3. Is there any Soul Memory or anything of the sort that stands in the way of being able to play with a friend?
[sp]No, its purely soul-level based, and if its like bloodborne the password might remove that limit aswell.[/sp]
4. Is the torch infinite? I love torches
[sp]Yes.[/sp]

Replied in the quote.

[sp]1. yep, need to do a few things though to get the uncracked REO (not a lot). You gain an ember every time you help someone in coop and you enter kindled mode every time you defeat a boss
2. netcode is good. I fought a japanese guy and it wasn't too bad
3. Nothing like that. Password apparently lets you join someone's game regardless of soul level as well (might be completely wrong)
4. Torch is infinite[/sp]

:ninja:
If there is one thing I don't want to spoil myself is the soundtrack, because many already described it as the series' magnum opus
Also, apparently those [sp]Dancer's Enchanted Swords[/sp] scale with pretty much all the stats, but better with strenght and dexterity, so I'll do one of those famous quality builds for my first character
Thanks! Holy shit it is tempting to pick up this at full price, it seems it will be one of the best Souls games

Your answer to 1) is not strictly true. [sp]You can farm embers, the 'humanity' equivalent in DS3, from certain mobs, I know for sure that the Lothric Knights drop them and they respawn infinitely.[/sp]

[sp]He specifically stated things you DON'T have to grind for, as in infinite use items[/sp]

Ah, whoops.
Decided to do a no bonfire run on souls 2 today. Was going pretty decent, had just gotten all primal bonfires but then I sat at the Majula bonfire instead of talking to the herald. :suicide:
Is voice chat a thing in DS3, like how it was in DS2?
You rarely see a sequel, and furthermore, the final game in a series which has fans with very high standards, be called the best one yet. But it's really looking like that's going to be the case. 119 hours to go, gents.
Finally decided to get the loyce grind over and done with

Never tried going for it until now. With DS3 coming out soon I have to get other Dark Souls stuff done I never tried because I know I won't be going back for awhile.
What is up with the moonlight butterfly boss fight? I don't feel like I defeated a boss, I feel like I destroyed an irreplaceable part of nature like if I cut down an ancient redwood or I ran over an albino possum

The player character is Orson Lannister

You'll note by its soul's description that it's a creation of Seath the Scaleless. So it was less of a part of nature and more like a huge pissed off moth standing in your way.
I gotta admit, I'm kind of disgusted after watching Oroboro's latest invasion videos in Dark Souls 3. [sp]Darkmoon-buffed Fume Ultra Greatsword[/sp], rushes hosts who are fighting mobs, chugs when he's hit even by a lone host, trash-talks when he gets what's coming to him or when he kills someone.

assassin's creed 4
battlefront 2
grand theft auto san andreas
those are all sequels and are viewed as being the best in their franchises :D
you are right that the last game in a series is rarely held in high regards, but sequels often outclass the first one, in games anyway.
also, preload when? this is the only game i plan to pretty much play/buy for the year.

But Assassin's Creed 4 wasn't as good as 2 in my opinion. And the series definitely does not have fans with high standards. Battlefront 2... okay, you got me there. But San Andreas was definitely not the best GTA either.
I guess my point is that when you're making a game to end a series, the stakes are really high. Your fans expect the best from you, and even if you deliver an excellent game, a game as good as any other in the series, they'll be disappointed it wasn't something more. And yet Dark Souls 3 may well be the best, both from my own impressions from the gameplay footage I've seen, and the testimony of people who have played it through.

Bad Company 2
Half-life 2
Fallout: New Vegas
Resident Evil 4 (arguably the first good one)
Witcher 3
There are plenty of series with a good first game and an even better sequel.

To be fair, Dark Souls 2's model detail was... eh.
She looks like the Hatred guy

I don't think I've seen a more awkward reading of souls lore

I joined the forest hunter covenant but I doubt I can find anyone to invade.
Sif is tough because his attacks randomly hit or miss when I'm under him

Must be the photo placement. In my PS3 game version her face was a lot slimmer and not outright cartoon-y.
