There's absolutely no reason that Dark Souls III is 50GB. The first game is literally 6GB, and the second game is around 13. For reference: The Witcher 3 is 30GB. I'm fucking confused.

I'm really torn between getting this for PS4 or PC. On one hand, I can get the collector's edition or whatever for PS4, but I have to pay for PS+. On the other hand, I can get it on PC and probably play with most of my friends or just more people in general, but I won't get the special edition stuff.

Why, for the past hour or so, have I invaded three separate players in the Bell-Towers named some variant of the name "Bob-Low", Lowbob, Boblow and Lowe-Bob have all been my opponents. What is going on?

Could be also cutscenes videos. Metal Gear Rising on PC was 23 gigs but it was mostly video files at 1080p. Could be that or the game is fucking huge, not only in world map but texture size.

So just must be a big game, which is not really surprising for this day and age.

This is a trend we've seen since the current generation of consoles came out. Remember, they have a buttload of RAM now, a decent amount of which can be dedicated to textures. Developers can ship higher res textures and don't have to worry about compressing them as much thanks to Blu-ray being the standard medium now. It's not exactly anything to worry about, storage is mad cheap now.
