File compression is so last decade. People these days have terabytes of space on their hard drives and videogame makers have a responsibility to fill every last bit. No space can be spared.
This is a trend we've seen since the current generation of consoles came out. Remember, they have a buttload of RAM now, a decent amount of which can be dedicated to textures. Developers can ship higher res textures and don't have to worry about compressing them as much thanks to Blu-ray being the standard medium now.
It's not exactly anything to worry about, storage is mad cheap now.
More RAM and bigger harddrives isn't an excuse to get lazy with file compression.

If you're making a game that will fit on a disk uncompressed, might as well go for it tbh. The less compression you need to do, the less CPU time you waste decompressing things at runtime. Especially useful in games that stream content in and out such as DaS.
When we start getting back to the actual size of a game increasing compression will return, no doubt. When the sheer amount of content itself grows there wont be any other option really.
Ok but what if the 50 gigs thing is just a placeholder???
and the second game is around 13.
18 with DLC
Any word on BB getting another DLC? It's a great game and I want more of it

Nope, that was the only one.

I hope the level maiden in Dark Souls 3 responds to gestures like the doll does.
I hope there's no level up maiden!!
My incessant and pointless bitching aside, I'd be ok with increasing lady if we unlocked some item that let us do leveling on our own later on in the game.
DS2 looked like it would have this with the Ashen Feather, which is the EH specifically uses to level you up but it's just infinite homeward. The moment I thought I was done with Majula and it was all taken away was worse than trying to kill hidden Giants without poison.

it looked like she was going to play rock, paper, scissors
i was disappointed
So after completing Demon's Souls I started Dark Souls 2 and I just... I play like a peasant. I just can't get used to it. I was pretty good at Demon's but I suck at Dark Souls 2 the hell.
Feels like I've hit another dead end with DS1 Co-op. No one summons anywhere. Hell not even invasions find anyone. Wonder if there's a certain time of day when online is more active, cause right now it seems to be dead as shit.
Tbh i've only ever found diehards and streamers PvP in DS1 anymore, for all it's flaws, DS2 PvP is muuuuuch better.

everyone's at townshit

Sorry to break it to you, but...
everyone's at townshit
Go figure, I'm just sitting here in Sen's Funhouse, though something fun did happen. I did get summoned once by a dude, and I managed to fend off a twinked invader for him before we parted ways. Then just now, I got invaded by the same guy I fended off before, and he came and dropped 20 Sun Medals for me and left, probably because I'm doing a cosplay Solaire build right now.
Always nice to see the DS1 community still has good spirited players.
Oh yeah another thing I hope for in DS3 is a really good witch hat!
The one in Bloodborne kind of sucked with the mask it had.

Big Hat or bust
bald black head is best
I really can't dig the Emerald Herald in general as I did Bloodborne's Doll or the Black Maiden in Demon's Soul
All she does is giving you the same useless bits of dialogue over and over again and sending you to a random quest which, apparently, the developers thought was a good substitute for plot progression
I really hope fists continue to be viable in DS3, if not even more varied and improved. I'm still going through my first time playing DS2, and I went in with a fists build and I'm having a blast! So fun punching!

Bone Fists were my shit (and I love that durability doesn't matter), really hope there's more unique move sets like that in DS3.

The series needs more of this and less of the twenty reskins of the same move sets.

So, The Dried Finger allows you to summon a 3rd white phantom, and get invaded by a second red phantom.
Online play item. Dried finger with multiple knuckles.
It strengthens the connection between other worlds and allows the third phantom to be summoned, however it also allows the second dark spirit to invade.
Also, invasion occurs more frequently in a short period of time.
Use with extreme caution.
much like DS1, I reckon (it'd prioritize you as an invasion target)

My personal theory on the Celestial Emissary is that the developers wanted the player to have a lamp near Ebrietas, so they came up with a last-ditch effort boss fight

I can actually see myself using it now. Since I'm mostly a co-op kind of dude the idea of more than 3 players in one world sounds kind of silly but it could be fun.

I feel like from wanted to delve into the lovecraftian horror in that area and notch it up x10, plus I feel like Miyazaki was like "I want to experiment with 2 secret bosses right after eachother". there is also lore reasons for the celestial emissary's presence considering the hints towards it all throughout the area, creepy as shit area filled with asshole enemies.
Did you cheese the pack of blue eyed beasts through the door or no?
