i completely understood the joke i was sayin that yeah who cares it's a single player game why are you crying about someone else's gameplay experience
Because it's not solely "his gameplay experience." When someone invades his world and he disconnects, he's impacting on someone else's experience negatively. He's trying to reap the benefits of online play, messages, phantoms etc. without any of the downsides, and that's selfish. Donate to the dickwraith preservation fund today
also if you're pedantic, which I am, it's not solely a 'single player' game. It's more like single player with multiplayer features
Summoning is a risk-reward system. Enjoy the benefit of acquiring extra hands to help you through an area/ boss, but doing so puts you at risk of getting invaded in order to balance things out.
Being able to summon willy nilly and using it as a crutch to complete areas easier would make the game too easy and thus destroy the point of the game being challenging. So invasions were created to help balance that out.
Disconnecting during an invasion is basically saying "I want to cheat because I can't handle the game's difficulty".
This is why FROM had to create an Offline Mode in Bloodborne 'cuz they knew there would be babies that do stupid shit like this. Either abide by the system or just play offline, don't ruin it for everyone else.
You guys are taking it too seriously.
I think invasions are a fine idea but it is ruined somewhat because if you're invaded in the burg, say, then the only things you get invaded by these days are twinks that the average new player who would be in human form to summon has no chance of defeating. There is no way some new guy in starting gear is going to be able to defeat even a SL1 in full havelmom and +10 fire axe.

People who do that are just as guilty as those who pull the plug. This is why I hold nothing against FROM for creating Soul Memory in DS2 because it was the only way they were able to eliminate twinks entirely, at the cost of wonky matchmaking.

doesn't make you any less of a little bitch for disconnecting instead of taking your lumps
Why not just play offline?
cause then they cant beat the bosses, duh!
Usually if I get invaded I take all my clothes off and run away for as long as possible.
half the fun of dark souls is being able to be invaded at any possible moment. its like OH DAMN OHH SHIT thats the thrill of it. what kind of cunt plays these games and just quits for invasions. set it to offline so u cant get any help either then

all my invasions so far have been
'oh look a dude'
'oh look I'm dead instantly because of shit netcode/he's a twink'
The first few times it was tense, but the novelty has worn off and now I just retreat to a bonfire and let them kill me.
If I get invaded I just find a nice open area and wait for the guy to come. Sometimes use chameleon if I feel cheeky

then you are not a BIG STRONG HAMMER BOY
i tend to win invasions (in ds2 specifically) because invaders are usually a bit hesitant to fight a naked gyrm hammer powerstance man
[editline]14th February 2016[/editline]
and HESITATION GETS U KILLED
while they are doing their pre fight rituals of doing gestures and throwing carvings i just fucking run at them full speed the second i see them and they are like OH BOY OH SHIT

I've had a couple decent fights but nearly every single one has ended with me laying 8 solid smacks into the cunt which deals 0 damage and then I teleport into being backstabbed.
~netcode~
ive never had any real problems with the netcode in my 112 hours of ds2 so whatever u want to blame.

I am sorry about your conditions
I always make my character have a buckler when I am just messing around in PvE because sometimes, just baiting them in with a missed swing is just too easy. Dark Souls II only though, since I can't parry for shit in the original Dark Souls.
reposting my atypical invasion because i just love watching big hammer boy

PvE isn't too bad, I have a shitload of fun being summoned to help kick boss butt.
I still have fond memories of the time me and like 3 other people got summoned to take down the dragonrider, the host was just so adorably bad at dark souls.
something i've never been clear about, do you not get invaded in bloodborne unless you have a phantom with you?
i've summoned like 4 phantoms but theyve all been for bosses and ive never ONCE been invaded

I thought you could only be invaded in the nightmare areas. I don't have PS+, so I never did any of the online stuff.
that would explain it since i havent reached a nightmare area since i got ps+

Summoning a player also spawns a sinister bell maiden in your world, which in turn invites invaders into your world. You probably always killed the bell maiden before an invader connected.

i've only summoned a phantom like right around the boss door, and then we enter as soon as they arrive.
im assuming that the phantom cant spawn after you enter a bossroom
There's also places where a bell maiden is there by default, like Nightmare frontier and Nightmare of Mensis, but you can find and kill the maidens to stop the possible invasions. Personally I keep them alive for some PvP action.
im gonna do that then, i want to experience bloodborne pvp for the first time in my like 75 hours of playtime
Due to an internet outage I couldn't reply, and due to my internet still acting up I can't reply either.
But here's the Art Collection Novangel.

Yeah, once you're past the fogwall invaders can no longer enter your world.

So tempting, but gonna wait for the english version
I enjoyed getting invaded in DS2 because the netcode wasn't completely shit and there's less twinking wank. Also the NPC invaders were okay since it wasn't as easy to backstab them, and in Scholar the Forlorn encounters were nice since most of them were random and eventually you'd know all the possible positions they'd spawn and you'd be a little more prepared and apprehensive in places. That was kinda fun.
In DS1 you'd just get murdered too easily by a twink standing 15 metres away suddenly doing a backstab. Also a few of the pvp covenants didn't really work too well.

Oh hey, quote's working again.
Also, this is the only one they're ever likely to release, and if you look at the preview images it's actually got English entries for all the text.
