Oh right, I forgot to mention there would be no summons.
This is a masochist run.
is anyone else getting the Japanese version? would I be able to just buy the PC version from Japanese Amazon and it would work?

You won't understand a damn thing, but yeah theoretically it should work on PC.
I've been playing through Bloodborne on a friend's PS4 lately. I think I'm just gonna buy The Old Hunters for it next time I go there.
I want those tasty weapons.
You've gotta earn them though.
You can't fully become cauliflower until you kill the final boss(well you don't have to save him for last)
I'm seriously considering buying a PS4 for Bloodborne and Final Fantasy XV, about how long is BB (with the DLC)?
Is cheat engine on dark souls a thing? I just want to create PvP characters and special PvE runs without all the effort. I did it on the 360 with a flashdrive and this weird program.
Be sure to calculate your final level so that the number of stat points allotted matches, otherwise pvpwatchdog will pick you up and people will boot you (for pvp that is).

My first blind playthrough was about 40 hours long.
It's kinda weird though, it felt a lot longer than my first blind playthrough of DS1, but that took me 72 hours.

That's a decent sized game, and it's a Souls game, so I know I can replay it pretty much endlessly. Thanks for letting me know!
Just got SotF for PC, anything I should do to fix the framerate? I don't have the best PC but I can run DS1 pretty fine and I don't think I should be chugging and struggling for 25 fps like this.
Got to Dragon Aerie and I'm still using a weapon I picked up in the Forest of Fallen Giants, should probably try find something new to use...
I stopped playing the original DS2 at Velstadt, yet I somehow had 40 hours clocked, got up to that point in 20 in SoTFS. No idea how my first playthrough was that slow.
I remember my first play through was clocked at 90 hours and my second was 40.
I think it's just hindsight knowledge since you kinda know where to go.
I hope theres romance between some characters in DS3.
Poor Ciaran..

Ciaran? No, no, noooo. I think the undead merchant is more of your type!

I think it's odd that From keep showing interest in having better interactions with NPCs, but have never really done anything with it. Oscar in DS1 was supposed to be a rival of sorts and Iosefka in Bloodborne was supposed to be a romance option. It'd be neat to have more interaction with NPC's other than them just talking at you to progress their linear storylines. [sp]Like why couldn't I just help Eileen after I killed the Bloody Crow? Even though she was most likely beyond saving, the player character just leaves her to die?[/sp]
I'm starting to think I should abandon my current dual rapiers thing and do something with the Knight of Heide Sword plus another sword in the other hand
Dark Souls thaught me not to understimate the power of lighting
i had much success with dual rapiers with one being flame and the other dark and then further boosting the dark one with more dark
I tried to use two Blue Flames on my wizard character. Honestly this is so bad it's funny. I deal very little damage even when I get two crystal meth weapons on both weapons and do the triple powerstance combo with CSS + CHSM. I can deal decent damage to nonbosses, but for just about everything else it's really bad.
What are you even supposed to run as a wizard? Nothing seems effective. Even MLGS is just fucking awful, specially in the DLC because of everyone's extremely high resistances to magic.
Damage is low compared to my co-op friend, who's going into this full quality build with no buffs. Will we even out at some point?
humanity restored
I'm still torn between the Longsword and the Falchion in DS2.
Keep in mind I fully intend on going head-first in PvP (despite all the shit this game throws at me)

Dark Souls 1 lightning was super good. In Dark Souls 2? It's not going to cleave through everything. I played through the whole game on my first playthrough with dual rapiers because "omg dual rapiers that's so cool I've never seen anything like this before in a game wowowow" and I managed really well. Moral of the story: just do what you think is interesting. Dark Souls 2 gives you a lot more flexibility to just do what you want. Sure, there are optimal builds, but you'll do just fine without one
I bought Demon's Souls, so soon enough I'll be playing Dark Souls II - "We heard you liked it harder" edition and Demon's Souls at the same time, 'cause I think I could use less happiness in my life

If you said those 1 years ago, you'd probably get holocaust-ed.
Everybody was crazy on builds and minmax and shit.
Anything other than that was considered dumb

I got both as well, but I started with Demon's Souls first, then gonna do DS2 (cuz friend is gonna bring DS1 but he isn't home atm, he's on Uni so gotta wait). I suggest you do Demon's first, just that. It'll be quite overwhelming otherwise :v:
Tried making a ReShade / SweetFX preset for Darksouls 2 SotFS, but the ambient occlusion bugs the hell out of me. It's overlayed on top of the fog and you can see it through the menus :(
A touch of darkening, a slight blue tint, SMAA, and some sharpening improve the visuals a bit imo. I can show screenshots later.

Some weapons can use battle arts to perform quicksteps, much like bloodborne.

Uh oh
That backstab, soo DS1
Lagstab fest imminent
RIP
QUICKUSTEP aside, that is not good. I do not want this PvP back.
When you get a match that's not a lag & glitchfest it's so nice but god dude now that it's known it's gonna be so awful to get invaded day 1.
Maybe it'll be different on Steamworks or something. PvP revolving almost entirely around outlagging the other player can seriously go to heck.

Nah, it doesn't lock you in until you get hit in PvP, it's only the NPCs that get locked in like that. If you do a backstab and miss you get a goofy whiffing animation that completely opens you up. I managed to miss a backstab and the whiff was long enough for the guy I was trying to backstab to backstab me.

Guys, we've been over this when the network test was up, it's not what it looks like.
Besides which, at least it isn't fucking worthless like DS2's backstab.

looks almost like you can see the edge of that dragon castle in the sky (from the art) at the end of the clip
hype, also that vista looks really nice

So wait, lemme get this right: If you click on a NPC's back you get the instant backstab animation with no fail condition whatsoever, but if you click on a player's back, you get a not-so-instant backstab animation that has to connect before actually dealing damage and locking the other player into the animation?
If that's the case then good, ignore my bitching. Being in Argentina and trying to PvP is absolutely cancerous, and I'm pretty sure it's worse when I actually win against people. Can't imagine what it's like on their screen.

Yeah it only locked NPCs into position, and the angle you could do it was narrower than Dark Souls as well. The big thing in DS3 is that weapon arts are very powerful.
