You can also get banned for swapping out your saves for some stupid reason (as in you make a back up, fuck around a bit online, then restore it). Because they see save swapping the same thing as save editing (because your soul memory and stats won't match the last check). Save swapping is how I got banned from base DS2. Cheat engine is fine as long as people aren't using it to just outright cheat and fuck everything up for someone. I've used it just to do silly characters, items and builds, but never online.

Best boss fight i had so far was definetly Sir alonne (DLC) DS2
I remember making a rooftop ogre build in DaS1 where me and a friend would make greenskinned characters and use Cheat Engine to gain infinite dung bombs and warp on top of the rooftops in Oolacile. Was really fun waiting for people who had no clue what was going on while we rained shit all over them from above.
i rebought ds2 on ps4 so i could help a total newcomer through it and part of me wants to know is there a way to cheat myself into having heaps of human effigys on ps4? ive already beaten the game like 10 times id rather not slog through the hard way again
Cheat Engine only gets you banned if you mess with your stats or soul memory. does scholar of the first sin for pc have better performance than basic ds2? my laptop struggles a bit with ds1, but I had that same issue on my old PC but that could run ds2 fine I recall, but if SoFTS runs better then I'm thinking of getting that for my laptop at some point.
can i use cheat engine to level myself down in dark souls 1? my dad wants to coop with me but i accidentally overleveled and dad needs my help
can i use cheat engine to level myself down in dark souls 1? my dad wants to coop with me but i accidentally overleveled and dad needs my help
yeah dude
can i use cheat engine to level myself down in dark souls 1? my dad wants to coop with me but i accidentally overleveled and dad needs my help
Ye, lower your SL and use something like mugey monkys to match stats to that reduced SL and you should be ok
Can someone link me the current vanilla DS2 CE tables?
SPeaking of CE tables, does anyone have any DS tables that have working warps?
Ye, lower your SL and use something like mugey monkys to match stats to that reduced SL and you should be ok
this is gibberish [editline]21st February 2016[/editline] dad will never get to experience the bed of chaos now
this is gibberish [editline]21st February 2016[/editline] dad will never get to experience the bed of chaos now
open up cheat engine, set your Soul Level to the needed level and ur good. The dude was just suggesting that you also modify your stats so that they're lower
Hackers just suck in Souls games. The only cool ones are the creative guys who aren't there to grief or win, but to just have fun with novel ideas, e.g. fake boss battles and such.
Lingering Flame Penis

I probably spent a good 100 hours or more invading people with themed builds and presenting myself like a mini-boss. Didn't do it too much but invading in the Depths as an invincible horror "Slasher" (thank you Sack) was fun shit and will always have a fond place in my memories of DS1. Most people seemed to get the gimmick and ran off to rush through the level, but every now and again I'd get the try hard (or utterly new player) that would refuse to back down and I'd have to leave (I never had fun killing people—at least not with a hacked character—I just liked the concept). I'd still do it now if DS1 had any real player base and I didn't have a 90% chance of invading a twinked PvPer or grief hacker, neither of which are fun to invade for this purpose (the latter never being fun at all). And you can't modify your stats in Scholars without risking (and almost guaranteeing) a soft ban. If only for this, I wish DS2 didn't have any cheat protection.
Cheat Engine only gets you banned if you mess with your stats or soul memory.
Supposedly the server also checks your save file for items that would be impossible for you to have depending on your progression in the game (probably done via Soul Memory, or some other trigger {downing bosses?}). I've seen it mentioned a whole lot when it comes to CE and DS2 but there's never been any 100% proof either way, there's not enough people willing to give it a thorough test. There's always been the question of how it would check this, since it's possible for someone to slowly transfer end-game items through multiple characters down the Soul Memory brackets (transfer the item to a lower SM friend, they transfer it to an even lower SM character you have, then transfer that to a lower SM character your friend has, repeat until the lowest brackets)—would that get you banned too? Again, there's never been enough testing to confirm it or not. Edit: Soul Memory, not level. I need some coffee.
I've been playing Demon's Souls a bit recently. Is it weird that the area I'm dying the least in is the Shrine of Storms? These stormy skeletons' swordskulls are no match for my turtling powers, and aside from the edgy katana skeletons, the enemies are really fun to fight.
Yeah it's a good area except does flying manta ray fucks that shoot spikes or whatever at you.
can i use cheat engine to level myself down in dark souls 1? my dad wants to coop with me but i accidentally overleveled and dad needs my help
Yes, there's no cheat protection in DS1.

This'll also prevent things like PvP watchdog from instakicking you since if you tweak your SL without tweaking your stats appropiately aswell you'll get detected and flagged as cheater even in co-op matchmaking IIRC. Playing the game with the connection fixer thingie is so much more fun. Now if only I didn't have only one friend who isn't dead fucking tired of co-opping that'd be nice.

My brother just got Bloodborne. Helped him kill Father G. and pointed him in the direction of Eileen. First thing he does when he sees her is attacks her. All of my why.
I started playing some vanilla DS2 again since I was getting hype from DS3 gameplay, and so far I haven't been summoned, seen any summon signs, or been invaded through the entire game. I've got like 15 hours on this new save. Is it really that dead because of SotFS, or is it possible I was softbanned waaaay back when I edited my soul memory a few weeks after the game came out?
I've decided to remake my character in Demon's Soul as a phalanx or something (shield and spear) Turns out this build is EXTREMELY effective The Armored Spider was also a cool boss fight with an interesting mechanic ("OH GOD IT BURNS")

I played SotFS a couple of months back, and there was a decent amount of people.

Not sure about DS2, but I think on the PS3 both DS2 and SotFS use same servers. I take it you are playing the PC version, those seem to have separate servers for DS2 and SotFS.
too bad it'll never happen
Not with that attitude
How is the Claymore in Demon's Souls? It's probably my favorite sword in both Dark Souls games. [editline]20th February 2016[/editline]
too bad it'll never happen
why not man

[editline]20th February 2016[/editline] why not man
Not sure about the claymore but the normal two handed sword, upgraded to +3 with about 25 STR needs about 3-4 hits to kill any enemy in the first part of the valley of shit. Makes the area really frustrating.
Uh-oh I'm feeling the urge to replay Dark Souls with my newly created Souls OC
