I picked knight but is it still viable to level up faith?
Just getting enough Faith for Heal at the early game is awesome, reguardless of the game.
The only post-Lordvessel area from Dark Souls I'll quote as extremely uninspired is the Demon Ruins: rather dull environments (especially after Anor Londo and the Duke's Archives) and three (not one or two, THREE) bosses that are more annoying than entertaining due to gimmicks (the rather, shall we say, interesting hitboxes of the Ceaseless Discharge attacks, the "surprise roots" in the arena of the Firesage Demon and the very small safe spots from the lava in the Centipede Demon chamber)
The Bed of Chaos won't win any best boss fight of the century award anytime soon, but at least it's the only boss in the area and after it you are free to pursue the remaining great souls (if any are left at this point)
I don't disagree with you about the demon ruins, but I do like the architecture[del]and how you can see the kiln[/del]. I never really had any trouble with the firesage, he's just an upgrade to the original asylum demon, just like the stray demon is. Getting behind him is the most important thing
I'd imagine ceaseless discharge is cheesed with the ledge by most people, but his lava and tentacle attacks are pretty unique. The giant beam is bullshit though, but that's only if you run away. I disagree that he's a gimmick
I feel like the centipede demon fight would have been a lot more fun if you could get the orange charred ring before actually fighting it. That way you could sprint between islands if you were getting pressured by centipede, but had to manage your health doing so. As it is you're mostly waiting for it to come near and can barely move.
Bed of chaos was a mistake though. At least none of the above are humanoids using melee attacks

I'm like 99% sure you can't see the Kiln from the demon ruins. You can see what I'd assume is the artificial one where the Witch of Izalith tried to recreate the first flame with her own soul though.

Sorry, yeah this thing.

Not big on lore. I knew it was one of the many visible structures that you can see from other areas in the game
Izalith has nice lore behind it, it's a pity it's probably the most rushed area in the game. Dark Souls certainly has higher highs than Dark Souls 2, but I'd say 2 doesn't reach the same lows. It's clear there was a rush, but it came through in the world feeling disjointed rather than throwing down a handful of early game bosses as normal enemies. Plus there's the big black spots on either side of the door to the Bed of Chaos where they just forgot to put things.
thats the lost izalith
Isn't it the Demon Ruins?
So that's Dark Souls 3 deluxe preordered. Don't do this often, but i'm not worried at all. DS2 on PC only had very minor issues, I just hope that durability bug doesn't come back
thats the lost izalith
yeah, me being a dummy. Last time I played dark souls was March 2015
Tomb of the giants has a nice view much like Izalith and demon ruins, I couldn't remember which one had the artificial kiln in it

I'll probably play DS1 one more time before DS3 comes out, it's a little rite of passage I like to do
DS3 spoilers are already cropping up on reddit. Hope they don't get discussed too much in the thread but I'll probably go dark when the game comes out in the east
I'm slowly replaying DS1 again before playing DS3.
Played a lot of DS2/Sotfs and need a break from that.
Dark Souls 2 also has big black spots where they forgot to put things. Check out any of the precipices in the King's Castle.

And Lost Bastille's skybox :v:
The Drangleic Castle skybox also had an on-again off-again relationship with the game, from what I remember.
It's kinda comforting that, two years ago or so, I've started from this

and now, in the span of one month, I've taken on all the Souls games there are (hopefully)
Tomb of the Giants is the best. Except for that room with divine ember.
It also lets you see both Izalith and Ash Lake.

truly the best feeling in the world
I'm trying to replay Dark Souls but I get huge frames drop all over the place
Is this a common issue? I've reinstalled the game and I'm using the DSFix
Your frame rate needs to git gud
[editline]21st February 2016[/editline]
Idk though, I've never had frame issues, except blight town pre dsfix
Blightown is a nightmare
Blighttown is a blight on good performance.
No, I'm playing around the Asylum and the Firelink Shrine
My framerate switches between a solid 60fps and a slideshow and there are aliasing lines constantly

i have a fury x and the games framerate drops like, all the time.

using DSFix, use the "Unlock framerate" option and then set your max fps to 30
for me it stopped it from jumping down to 15fps randomly and instead kept it at 30
what this does is, it doesn't rely on the poorly coded fps cap, and instead caps it at 30 another way

Last time I played ds1 on my PC, I had my game set to 42 or 45 (not 60 cause engine/rollingBS) and it was always pretty dang steady. And this was when I was running a Radeon 6870. Also I never had any problems with 60 fps either. Maybe I just got lucky?
anybody do THE WALL in DS2?

i will have to do this probably

NO ONE ON EARTH CAN MAKE YOU FALL

if it doesn't work try an external cap and just set the fps limit to 60 or whatever in DSfix, then cap it externally
nvidia inspector (or amd equelviant) or set vsync to half

I might try this in hopes of my game no longer dropping frames whenever I have another window opened
So what SL in DS2 did you guys start NG+? i'm just curious since i'm SL 213 farming Insolent set finished all the bosses. ( fuck you fromsoftware and your shitty SOTFS changes )
