Dark Souls + Demon's Souls + Bloodborne Megathread VIII. At The End

My experience in Demon's Soul improved significantly when I decided to clear the Shrine of Storm before the mines and the Valley of Defilement: the skeletons are cool and release a crapton of souls and the Adjudicator was a very easy boss
Again, however, I stopped playing because I ran out of herbs and therefore can't go any further. Great.
To be honest, i kinda wish they'd go whole-hog with the boss weapons. Like, i wish i could use all of the Pursuers, or all of Ornsteins, or all of Artorias' movesets, etc. Some of them would leave you massively open but it'd be amazing. Maybe have different move sets based on how much you exceed the requirements?
For example like Powerstancing, if i exceed the requirements for the weapon by say, 40%, i get access to a new moveset closer to what the bosses use. I dunno, i've just always thought boss weapons should be a bit more faithful.
Yeah, I've been talking about something like this. Imagine being able to use greatswords, greathammers, greataxes in one hand without the shoulder support like all the cool dogs of Lordran and Drangleic do. Would work so well for the fashion, and would make a heavy knight build that much more fun to play.
They'd probably worry more about cheaters on PC harassing everyone.
How many hardcore hackers & cheaters are there really on PC? All I see is people who have things they clearly shouldn't have, but other than that I haven't gotten invaded by any hackers that weren't there for fun, like dick Lingering Flames or almost invisible huge dragon man that kills Hellkite Drake in one hit.

It's been said before I think, but right after the Adjudicator there is an easy place to farm souls, and there is also a merchant that sells herbs.
Just kill the things up where you are, then use a bow and snipe the grim reaper looking dude down below, and you'll get about 5000 souls. Repeat as necessary.
Man, all those weird dual wielding combinations, did I see a left hand halberd in there?
Music wasn't as good as DS2 trailers, but at least there wasn't any insane post processing. The pure gameplay trailers always get me hyped

[sp]Looks like weapon arts for the mace give you hyper poise[/sp]

I really don't like grinding for anything in any videogame whatsoever, but I'll see what I can do

It takes one trip to get enough souls to buy at LEAST 12 Half-Moon Grasses. Every time you die to the fucking Gold Skeletons on the cliff outside or the fucking Laser Shadowlurkers in the cave across the cliff, just clear out the Reaper and his retinue and cash in at Grave Robber Blige. You're practically guaranteed to score a solid Grass profit, and it's objectively faster and easier than grinding on the Blue-Eye Knights.
I don't know what it was about that trailer, but it looks so Bloodborne-y
I don't know what it was about that trailer, but it looks so Bloodborne-y
Probably because they're using the same engine and appear to be reusing the art style.
O my fuckin god that simple knight Paladin aesthetic at 1:25
Here's to miracles not being complete garbage, or if they are, here's to hoping the cool looks are enough to kill

I'll just import the japanese version, i really can't wait.
I really want to see more of that frostbite status stuff. Is cryomancy going to be a thing? I want to be able to make ice builds

Those houses with the torture wheels on the roofs.
Hope you're all ready for a new dose of Wheel Skellies.
snip I'm dumb there's something like that in ds2
I'll just import the japanese version, i really can't wait.
You're going to play the game, but you're not gonna experience it. I don't think two weeks(?) is worth permanently fucking up that first playthrough.

Yeah, I've seen people around saying "true dark souls fans" will order the Japanese edition, but that doesn't make any sense
How could you possibly understand anything? If you're a true fan, then you would have the patience to wait and experience the game in a way that you can actually connect with, even if it is translated
That's got me thinking actually. There's been plenty of translation goofs/unintentional misdirection in the past, we're essentially experiencing a piece of media that is abstracted, at least with the language/descriptions/voice acting
It's a funny parallel with Miyazaki's reading of fantasy books in his youth, we might not get a complete understanding so we try our best to speculate ourselves
The only thing I'm worried about is the shit people pull whenever they get their hands on a game early, like how it happened a lot with MGSV and Fallout 4 where people would send steam invites and make their in-game names massive spoilers.
I'm sure there's plenty of assholes that speak Japanese AND English that will go spoiling huge plot points that fans of the series will not appreciate having ruined for them.

That only really happens if you post in threads or anything related to the game, I got spoiled with MGSV through the megathread and an FP stream of the MGS cutscenes
Should be fine as long as you don't make yourself obvious, you can always go full dark if you're worried

I wish this was true, but something that happened to me for Fallout 4 and MGSV was while I was playing a multiplayer game, people were straight up joining the game with spoilers for their name, and some kids even jumped on their microphones and said spoilers to the entire server before getting kicked. Same thing with the new Star Wars movie, actually :v:

New thread music?

more like.
i can't take that trailer seriously because that song's been used to advertise HD TVs for like a year straight

It's not about being true fan or anything, it's simply dumb impatience of mine, that's all.
The goal was simply getting it, isolating myself and not even coming to the forums and such to talk about it.
But i did forget that importing a game like this is different than importing a fighting game so i didn't consider that :v:

There's a video posted a few pages back of a Japanese speedrunner playing through the game, and it's just incomprehensible.

You also won't know what the hell anything is other than the english voice over. Items that you probably should know what are used for in the first place. :v:

All those corpses stuck on torture wheels on the rooftops is literally straight out of Berserk.
i thought i couldn't get any more excited
this is the most hyped ive been for a video game ever
probably would have been bloodborne but i forced myself to not watch/look at anything BB related cause i thought i'd never play it
