You need to click on the other versions. The CE and Prestige Edition is, or rather "was", also available for the PC.
i am dumb
It's weird that the press kits I saw just completely ignored that version. Suck for buyers in the US who are getting the PC version. You guys also get a cooler metal case than we do in the US.

Anyone here getting the Prestige Edition?
The... rifle spear?
I know the threaded cane is divisive (I think it's a pile of garbage to be honest) but I think you're the first person I've ever seen to call the rifle spear un-ironically good.
The thing about the rifle spear is that you really have to know the moveset of your enemy and switch between modes for the different ranges and angles you'll be fighting at because the tracking is bad in 1 handed mode which you'll likely be in most of the time to use your offhand weapon when the 2 handed mode is generally what is best for basic enemies since it has wide swipes
And the thrust damage is great against kin
So, after trying to do some SL1 PvP and now bothered to continue the NG+ playthrough, i just came across the Vagrant.

And its first one after 348 hours! I killed it and got Twin Humanities from it.
I've nearly done a complete play through of dark soul 2 and the dlc but instead of doing ng+ I'm gonna make a spell caster character as I've never touched magic in the souls games.
Is it as simple as a melee character? Do I level FTH, ATN, INT equal or do I focus on one more than the others? Also how do spells get increased damage, my main guess is INT?
I want to go in blind instead of looking at builds as its more fun.
Trying to use dual poison claws in arena, god they fucking suck, fuck all damage and takes like 20 hits to apply poison.
your first mistake was using claws
your second mistake was applying poison to a weapon that does bleed last time I remember
your last mistake was not naming yourself "Captain" and using the Hook
I had to restart Demon's Soul from scratch because I discovered that the game allows dual-wielding
This time around I also managed to find the Thief's Ring, which is FAR more useful than what you'd expect

using poison also increases the physical damage of the claws and i use the shadow gauntlets and ring of blood to increase my bleed aswell, why do one when you can do both.
Turns out they still fucking suck though, would be nice in DS3 if fromsoftware could add good weapons that arent either 2 handed or 1 handed swords.
Man, I wish that thing was more than just an amusing gimmick.
It's actually great though? Igniting it after each attack can be a pain but if you use a lot of jumping and charge attacks like i do and combo it into a reignite, with a high STR/ARC build it becomes a really solid weapon that i still use along side my MLGS.

Powerstanced claws are pretty scary from what I remember
Doesn't the bleed become more powerful if he uses lacerating serum on them?

I had a build exactly like that and honestly it's more of a mindgames build than any sort of effective.

My merge
Powerstanced Manikin Claws + lacerating knives. They're extremely scary and make people panic and it's also subject of the lame attack cancel animation.
Well pvp is downright awful for me on DS2 atm anyway, i'm getting horrifically bad lag from anyone that invades, i've had people literally take 7+ hits from me and no damage then they miraculously backstab me even though i'd mid roll???? fucking awful servers on PS4.
I kinda want to run a Hyper DeS run

Don't worry, not much better on PC.
Had someone poke the air next to me with his spear and I still got hit, sadly all the games suffer from these issues

You can actually be backstabbed mid roll, it just takes decent timing on the part of the attacker. Since rolling away shows your back, if the opponent is close enough to to you they can get you during the recovery.

I have no idea how but I summoned a dude to help me through the wall of fucking Alonne knights in Iron Keep and for whatever reason all the NPCs starting lagging about when this guy joined my game.
I was cooping with a friend in DS2 and I literally did not take damage. The second he officially leaves after dying to some spiders my character explodes in a thousand particle effects, a bunch of hit noises and instantly dies.
There's something wonky with the netcode even if you do manage to connect, sync up, etc.

If its strength lies in jumping and charge attacks only, then it isn't a great weapon.
It requires a re-trick every hit for maximum damage, it uses a lot of stamina, the moveset is both unvaried, slow, and entirely blunt, and it has a fair bit of recovery time. It isn't useless, I'm not saying that. It's pretty good as it can do quite a bit of damage with not much investment, and if you're managing to kill people in one hit with it, then some of its weaknesses are negated.
It is better than the tonitrus, though. I'll give it that.

It doesn't, it's good all together, i just primarily use those attacks. It does high enough damage to one or two shot enemies making it easy to reignite between encounters. Also basically what you're saying is that it's not a Skill weapon. It's a big ass hammer, all of those things make sense for a big ass hammer, just like the Kirkhammer. If you want something fast with low stamina usage, stick to Chikage, BoM and Rakuyo. And the Tonitrus is pretty solid if you build specifically for it.
In the end though it just comes down to preference, playstyle and opinions though, it's all good in the end. There aren't many weapons in BB that are just flat out useless.
I'm not entirely sure if Boomhammer is viable in PvP. I've tried to use it before but the damage output just couldn't outclass my MLGS (which is also a STR/ ARC weapon) and it swung much slower and used more stamina, especially if you took the time to ignite. It's an excellent weapon for PvE, but there are much more viable options for PvP imo.

There are strength weapons that don't have infinite wind-up and a varied moveset. There's a reason the whirligig and the LHB gave the reputations they do.

It isn't viable at all, really. I've been to a few fight clubs with no gem limit (so well-built characters that know how to play) and I see a fair few cosplayers using the boom hammer and they basically get their teeth kicked in over and over.
A big part of this becomes people playing cautiously until you whiff, and then being aggressive afterwards because without the fire buff, you'll be easily outdamaged.
The Rakuyo is the last thing in the DLC I have to get, but these giant fish guys are just straight up obnoxious.
It'd be nice if we got one or two tricky weapons in DS3. There is seriously a lot of mechanical complexity in Dark Souls lore, what with the rotunda elevator in Anor Londo, the spinning stairydoodies in Duke's & such things.
Transforming weapons or higher-end weapons wouldn't really be that far fetched, specially when you have the decently mechanical Avelyn in the game.
I really love how the bosses in Bloodborne feel. They don't exactly one-shot you, but they're strong as hell, and they have a LOT of health. The 20 healing items and regain on hit make their insane health bars not a huge issue. So it feels like you're overcoming this HUGE beast but you're going toe-to-toe with it.
It's great.

I really loved the feature that you can restore your health after being via attacking in Bloodborne its something i just keep wishing was in the game as i play DS2.

Lifegem spam is how that game expects you to play it.
Lifegem spam is how that game expects you to play it.
There's no 'tightness' to the healing system like there was in DS1. In a way it's kind of like demon's but to not such an extreme - you essentially have a massive stockpile of healing and can cheese your way past most things. There's no 'increasing tension' - just risky moments where you're low on health and will simply heal back up once you get a spare moment. DS1 actually challenged you to get better after each death, and the amount of estus you had to use directly correlated with your skill at the game
Bloodborne I didn't feel it as much at least when exploring the world, but against bosses the healing items did run low a few times. You want it to be a really nice balance - get punished for making mistakes and lose health, but not just cheese your way through or get nuked by ridiculous attacks to override that healing power
Interestingly in the new knife weapon art gameplay the player only has 3 estus and 1 ash flask. I hope it is like DS2 where you slowly increase your estus amount and the difficulty/volatility of the gameplay increases alongside, but minus the lifegems
