As someone that never got really far into DS1 (I only got far enough to ring the first bell), I honestly found 2 a lot easier to get into. But then again maybe that's not necessarily a good thing to long time fans.

Dark souls 3 will probably be the first game where I attempt a pugilist run at some point. Auto dual wielding with the caestus and punching the sense out of some hollows sounds too good There's apparently a fist weapon called (Dark souls 3 weapon spoilers):[sp]Demon's Fist. Its weapon art is a flame whirlwind.[/sp] edit: I'm actually contemplating just going ahead and watching these videos now, at least Vaati's. It's going to be a few weeks so as long as I watch them just once then I can hopefully not remember all of it when release comes about but also stay away when the JP version comes out

I've never liked Vaty since that video came out rather convincingly accussing him of being a plagiarizing tool. Has that been debunked or something? It helps that I didn't like the guy to begin with. Something about his tone of voice made him sound like a dickhead for making kinda late videos about things literally everyone knew about or speculation literally everyone had gone through already. His popularity doesn't help, because everyone takes his word for things like it's final.

Aegon is human, Aegon fucked up, and, BTW, Aegon makes great lore videos."[/quote] I feel like there's a hate bandwagon on vaati's shit, just like some of his fans have a 'love' bandwagon and take all of his stuff as gospel. Vaati is sometimes wrong in his videos, and he's also, sometimes right. Plus, he throws in speculation which can be argued as true or false aswell; which shockingly makes him a human being. He doesn't deserve the hate he gets on this forum.

His shitty storytelling robs all characters of their agency and boils everything down to essentially being destiny or some contrived bullshit. Instead of actually playing the games and paying attention to what's happening people just say "Well it's too complicated, I'll just watch VaatiVidya."

When it comes to lore I most just listen to ENB or read random theories on Reddit. Personally I'm not that concerned with the lore. I mostly just enjoy the gameplay.

Skipped[sp]fighting whatever that large fire beast thing was[/sp]and some NPC lines though, just need a general idea) I don't like his manner of speaking/narration style, and don't really pay attention to his theory crafting (he did put *theory* on the screen when he was doing some straw-grasping) At the end of the day I wouldn't rely on his videos to explain the lore anyway But yeah after watching the three videos I don't feel too overly spoiled. There's some cool NPC interactions which could go further, so it's not like I've decided definitely not to do something I do feel spoiled about one part though,[sp]the firekeeper pit.[/sp]If there was one thing I'd like to experience on my own it'd be that, hopefully I forget it by release but it should still be emotional to see it in person. His style is much more more casual and he comes across more genuine because of it. Vaati's commentary comes across as trying to be ~deep~ and it wears kind of thin. He clearly cares about the game, his stuff just isn't for me.

Another thing that bothers me about Vaati is that I feel like I'm being talked to, likes a one way conversation. ENB on the other had feels like an actual conversation most of the time

I had a blast watching Plague of Gripes DS1 playthrough, he sure gripes a lot but I did love his vision toward Siegmeyer and Solaire for example. Each episode is long but they're more to listen as a podcast.

I subscribed to him, but I'm not getting any feeds from him. I do like ENB's videos moreso than Vaati, but when ENB kind of stopped doing lore videos, I turned to Vaati. It wasn't until the whole plagiarizing scandal got my attention. Personally I think they both have the right idea, but if I were to choose, I want ENB to do more lore videos. There was also a false rumor going around that someone tried something on ENB's channel and he got mad and scared everyone off. Vaati's last video though. Dead God character spoilers so big that I can't believe that I watched until the end. I'm definitely stopping now.
