My problem is that it's like giving me a water bottle I can take with me then suddenly taking it away and telling me I have to march my ass to the sink everytime I wanna have a basic ass sip.
It's not like the sink was completely desolated, the water bottle runs out and I gotta give it embers, or split shards, or sell shit, or buy spells/miracles, etc. It's just mildly bothersome.
Is Dark Souls 2, the original, not the Scholars edition but the first one still active?

didnt they guy who reported playing the pc version at 30fps also say he had no access to the settings menu? i think it's possible that 30 or 60 are options in the graphics menu, they're just not super sure how solid their 60fps option is hence why they're not reporting on it. a sort of like 'use at your own risk' sort of thing like another game did that i forget.

man DS1 can really get to me sometimes. ive been sitting in-game for at least 20 minutes now and i have yet to connect to a single node. ive changed download region like 3 times already and restarted my steam + computer, and yet still nothing. i just wanna fight people, at least 2 has none of this node shit :(
Hey so me and some friends are re-running through darksouls but steamworks has obliterated ability for us to play together. With no DSCFix we're sort of at the mercy of steam and it's working out awful for us, none of us can see a single other person's sign and we're all definitely in range/human etc. Did anyone ever figure out a solution to this?

That's be a good enough solution imo if the engine really can't support higher fps without rewriting a lot of it. Gives people a choice.

Reconnect does nothing, trying to change channels it just jumps back to 1 etc. Trying to run it as an admin or change compatibility options didn't help, anyone got ideas? We're all running DSFix and DSMFix if that affects anything

That's weird, I'm on Windows 10, my two buddies are on W7 and we're fine.
Are you on the beta branch? That might be it.

Nah I read the readme, not on the beta branch and neither are they. I just verified though and it started working so I can only assume my .exe was gibbled because the verification process modified it

I'm hanging onto the hope that the team is trying very hard to get 60FPS to work well and look good on PC, and that's why we haven't heard anything yet. Seems unlikely, though, given From's track record.

In the end, if we have to choose between 60FPS and shitty graphics, or 30FPS and DS3's upgraded visuals, though... I might pick the upgraded visuals. Provided that there's a chance of setting the framerate to 60 with mods without screwing the game up or getting banned.

There's some doorways you can't go past because there's an enemy blocking the way with their big fat ass and there's nothing you can do but hope the host walks by.

Undead Crypt suffers this same problem. If you invade someone near the first bonfire, you can't reach them because you spawn behind the dual-greatshield wielding enemy that's blocking the pathway. No previous Souls game suffered from this kind of problem because invaders could always pass through enemies, but DS2 is the only game where you can't do that.
Making an entirely new engine for DS2 was B-Team's biggest mistake imo because it was very clear the developers were not aware of every little small detail from DeS/ DS1's engine that made things tick. They ended up skipping over small but crucial details because of this.
Figured I'd see if I can finally finish Belfrey Luna, only to instantly get invaded by a guy lagging so hard he was literally standing at the top of the stairs hitting me while I was standing all the way back at the entrance.

I think DSIII's plot is kind of weird. In Dark Souls 1,[sp] you needed one undead to link the fire. In DSIII, you need five undead to link the fire to do something. Either the intro prophet messed a step in the "How to Save the World from the Apocalypse" guidebook last time, or the legless Cousland is pulling our legs[/sp].

I haven't played Dark Souls 2 in many months, but tonight I hopped back in, dropped my dragon sign on the bridge of the Iron Keep, and fought six people. I lost only one fight (And that because the guy used a lightning miracle when I was bowing), and while the battle was close with a couple others, three of them didn't even touch me. All but one of them used hex builds, and it was that one (Dual claws, one with poison, one with bleeding) that got the closest to killing me honourably. I fought him with the bone fists, though, so I think we were even.

Either I've still got it, or the quality of PVPers on the Iron Keep bridge has drastically gone down lately.
