the quality of bridge pvpers has never been particularly high in the first place [editline]7th March 2016[/editline] also you can roll out of gestures in 2 you know
the quality of bridge pvpers has never been particularly high in the first place
I don't know, I've faced some really, really good people there before.
Bridge pvp is pretty scrubby tbh Try tight rope pvp

I pvp'd on the bridge for a week until one person finally parried me and wrecked my claw l1 spam

Burg pvp is where its @ Right guys..?
I've recently experimented with Bloodbro arena and bridge in rapid succession, seems to have the biggest concentration of people. What SM range is the most populated? I hover at 3 million, generally speaking, but I don't get a lot of people except hackers. Some hackers are fun though, so it's k for me. Mostly I tend to use Blacksteel, Falchion, Santier and Great Scythe, it's all good fun. Loyce Greatsword seems tempting, but...

I just finished fighting Ceaseless Discharge and beat him first go and only being hit once. Is he supposed to be that easy or did I just get lucky? He pretty much just did super telegraphed arm slams and a couple of fire-y arm slams.
Oh twinks. I hope DS3 gets a good workaround for Twink-builds. Played DS1 a few hours ago and got my buzz killed by an invading silver/black-knight who took only 84 damage by being smacked with a +5 Zweihander.
BoB arenas don't rely on your SM but on your SL.
Can I talk about how horseshit it is that the blood covenant needs only one successful invasion (or just finding a token of spite) for unlimited arena PvP while you consume a token every time you fight with the Blue Sentinel arenas? The fuck were they thinking?
they weren't

I just want to kill giant bosses, not fight some guy cheesing a build.

Treat it like any other challenge, and you'll humiliate your foe.

Gaining skill is fine, but some people just don't really have knack for PvP, not to mention latency issues.
Me and a friend were co-oping with some new characters in ds1 Some twink mother fucker invaded. Unfortunately for him, neither of us were new players, or even incompetent players. While my friend was new to ds1, he has beaten 2 and BB, and personally this was my 7th ds1 playthrough and I was also working towards my platinum/10th playthrough in Demon's. What I'm saying is me and my friend are experienced as fuck. It took like 10 whole minutes due to the twink's massive fucking hp pool and dmg resistance, but we humiliated him and tore him a new asshole. He added me on steam since I was the host, and cursed me out accusing me of cheating and hacking. I've never see so much butthurt.

Join the Way of Blue to get assistance from Blues against invaders. As far as we've seen from the network test you can bring along 2 white phantoms and only risk being invaded by one dude. Even then if you're Way of Blue chances are you're going to summon a dude who's more than geared and/or experienced to deal with a cheeser as long as you don't get yourself offed. Getting gud isn't just playing for 200 hours and stomping everything it also includes using everything at your disposal, especially if they're a dirty Hexer. If you're really that afraid of invaders just play offline.

I've been going out of my way to play through the bosses solo and bringing in someone else just feels like it takes out the fun, but at the same time it's kind of fun helping someone beat a boss they are having difficulty beating. Experience is absolutely part of "getting gud", no you won't demolish everything but if you honestly don't think someone who regularly plays the game has a definite advantage than someone who just started you're delusional. Drop two players naked into an area, one who has played for 10 hours and one who has played for 100 and I can almost guarantee the guy with 100 will win. Sure they're both can do just as much damage as other but the guy with the better understanding of the mechanics and experience parrying, ect. absolutely has an advantage.
stop whining and take your lumps like everyone else

Part of the experience is also learning from your defeats at their hands and coming up with ways to beat them. You can't really have one without the other - if you want that, and don't like co-oping anyway, disable your network adapter before hopping into the game. It's not hard. But don't ask that the game be designed to give players who don't like invasions an easy time, because that's not what the rest of us want.

Make the AI less exploitable? Use a wider variety of enemies? I don't really see why the developers can't cater to both the hardcore fans and everyone else without sacrificing the difficulty. I'm not even saying get rid of invasions, just push it back to NG+ or something.
I'd honestly be fine if PVP was restricted to certain areas or certain covenants. [editline]cont'd[/editline] Being fully human and having summoned players with you all the time would make the game too easy, so invasions are supposed to balance that. It's perfectly fair in my opinion. Why do people seem to forget that going human and summoning players is supposed to be a risk-reward system?
At least fix stupid shit like being able to use healing spells after activating a Lloyd's Talisman. Unless you wear the ring that limits the health reduction but that's kind of just forcing you to waste a slot.
And anyway surely you'd catch someone out if they're doing the 30 second long pray animation?
Not when they're hiding behind an army of mobs.

there's so many npc invaders you're bound to have one. low rate isn't even an excuse
