Again, I've literally only had two of them spawn during my entire playthrough.
At least fix stupid shit like being able to use healing spells after activating a Lloyd's Talisman. DS2 actively punishes you for not being human, so it's not risk reward, it's risk or more risk but some reward. Unless you wear the ring that limits the health reduction but that's kind of just forcing you to waste a slot.
The more hollowed you are, the less likely you'll get invaded. When fully hollowed it's almost impossible to get invaded, and you can survive perfectly fine while being hollow. Sounds like a risk-reward to me. [editline]7th March 2016[/editline]
An item with a 10% chance of spawning is hardly a viable solution. I've had two of them spawn in 40 hours.
Then why are you even complaining? You make it sound like invaders are constantly on your ass. :v:
An item with a 10% chance of spawning is hardly a viable solution. I've had two of them spawn in 40 hours.
Burn a human effigy at a bonfire. The game gives you options.
I'm not sure how playing with half health is a reward.
The reward is going human and getting health back. The risk is getting invaded for it.
I'm not sure how playing with half health is a reward.
Take the game as it is or leave it, sorry. Or just disconnect your damn internet.
Honestly I didn't notice many player invaders until ng+ in dark souls 2. I also noticed it was easier to successfully blue-invade people when I started my ng+ run
I've been playing DS1 and I think I've only been invaded once since the beginning. I just took out the Chaotic Bedbug. The one time I did get invaded, I immediately squished my foe with my Dragon's Tooth. Didn't even last a minute. :(
I'm not sure how playing with half health is a reward.
i have to agree with you on this, darksouls 2 losing your max hp was so stupid, oh youre getting shit on by this boss, lets just give you less and less hp for each try. And farming humanities wasnt really that possible since enemies would eventually despawn (using bonfire asetic isnt really a good option for bad players either) since it turns that area ng+

If you're too aggressive with the bosses you die easily, then you have less hp. It's trying to naturally lead you to the careful, calculated approach that will net you the victory. Becoming human gives you all your HP back, as well as allows you to use summons, so if you're having too much trouble, it also naturally leads you to just go human and get some help from those who are offering. I think it's actually pretty smart for a punishing death. I like it. You can also use the Ring of Binding if you want more HP but still want to only rely on yourself, without popping an effigy.
I dislike invaders too, but mostly because of human error. Rather, humans being complete trash at the game and having to cut every possible corner to cheap """"victories"""" out. The concept is really nice and I look forward to each NPC invasion but there's a reason why I always have a Stone Ring Ice Rapier +10 or a Hornet Ring at hand for actual people. On the off chance that I get a human being, it's fight time, but if someone comes in raking it up with the most finely aged cheese in the fucking land, you bet your ass I'm pulling out my stupid ass disgusting rotting blue mushroom cheese thing that is absolutely horrifying and I don't know why people eat.
This is what killed PvP in Bloodborne, so no thank you. [editline]cont'd[/editline] Being fully human and having summoned players with you all the time would make the game too easy, so invasions are supposed to balance that. It's perfectly fair in my opinion. Why do people seem to forget that going human and summoning players is supposed to be a risk-reward system?
PvP would work well in BB if boss arenas became PvP arenas once you cleared them. It's just such a waste to have them be empty
Oldish but it's really well drawn
i love invaders. its exciting. i dont know why people are so pissy about them. the only reason i can think of that it would be annoying is if you had a lot of souls on you. but then just, like, win. and you can still get them back if you lose so what's the big deal
BoB arenas don't rely on your SM but on your SL.
I also go to Iron Keep bridge and Brume Tower 1st bonfire, duh. Again, what SM is the most populated? I can't seem to find anywhere that people agree on that.

Sure I can beat him because no amount of crutches can get you the win in a sprint, but it's still the most inane & taxing chore there is. I don't even wanna give these fuckheads the time of day let alone give them the pleasure of locking on to me.
You don't get the true Souls experience without getting chased by a twink in 1-2 through dragon fire and rabid dogs. It defined the Souls games for me, I hope that DS3 invasion mechanics are like DS1 or DeS, maybe with Bloodborne's increased soul range (post patch). Actually to be honest I would be more than happy if there were no restrictions on summoning or invading at all, and it could be done at any time. Anything to invite more multiplayer activity to the games please! I don't even PvP much but I feel just the presence or possibility of invasions occuring at any time makes things more exciting.
I still remember my first invasion in dark souls 1. I thought that shield raised + spear combination was unbeatable.

To give you an idea of why I think this, have this educational webm. [vid]https://my.mixtape.moe/lbgnst.webm[/vid] This was done on a BL43 character (the lowest level that can actually invade) with a +10 evelynn with BMA and a 31.5% blood attack up gem. I one-shot this guy despite this taking place in nightmare frontier, so he likely knew that he was going to be invaded, and was at least level 30, and I had a 30% health reduction. If FROM puts all those barriers in place and things like this can still happen, then making them looser would be awful. Getting invaded in an optional area that is known for being a place where you can be invaded is one thing, but if you were a new player in Central Yharnam, and someone like me who has played a hell of a lot and has a min-maxed twink comes along and literally kills you with a single bullet, you wouldn't think "man, this game is challenging but fair", you'd think "what the fuck was that?". As funny as it can be to twink, they are in no way fair or fun to fight against, especially in Bloodborne where you can become incredibly powerful with cursed gems, which is another big opportunity for skilled players to completely destroy new ones.

And players always, always have the option to just close their internet connection and play that way.

Just because I suffered through headless BLB at BL43 doesn't mean I should just get free reign to stomp new players.
My only experience with invasions has been 1-shots :c Except for one I initiated, which didn't go great but at least I didn't die in one hit. Apparently my experience with invasions was an exception to the norm.
I'm fucking sick of people arguing against invasions because of twinks. Twinks make up a fucking tiny part of the online community, the changes to invasion made in Bloodborne specifically to appease the whiners actually degraded my experience because I wasn't invaded until my 4th playthrough. Oh no, people can die and lose 10 minutes of progress, what a tragedy their entire gaming experience was ruined.

Fans have only themselves to blame that soul memory exists. They are the literal definition of "ruining it for everyone".
A character option for offline mode might be a fine addition. People who want to fight do, those who don't, don't.

Just yesterday I was once shot by a hex twink. All it did was make twinking slightly more tedious as twinks have to make new characters every now and then if they don't opt for the agape ring.
Popular tags for Dark Souls 3 in steam consist of: -Casual game -For a whole family -Walking simulator -Dating simulator -Cute -Memes Community is in their memes, all right with the world  [editline]8th March 2016[/editline] DkS3 Season Pass to be specifiic, seems like DkS3 tags got cleaned
Don't get me wrong, I'm not defending twinking. It's a fucking scummy thing to do, and people like that are the lowest human garbage in the gaming community. Ganking newbies who can't possibly fight back doesn't make anyone look hard, but it happens all the time anyway. But shit happens. Dark Souls is a fair game for the most part, but heavy-handed measures to put an end to stuff like that end up messing up the experience for everyone else, too. Part of the challenge of dark souls is not only getting good, but also dealing with it and moving on when shit isn't fair and it all goes wrong. You need a degree of emotional resilience to play this game. At least you don't often get invaded by the same person, and there's a good long delay between invasions.
I agree with keeping invasions in for the most part but that is factually incorrect tbh
Twinks make up the majority of the people you're invaded by at a low level, really. New players aren't going to have a red eye orb until near end game, and it is probable that they'll miss it entirely, and they're going to be unsure about using cracked red eyes. Even in BB where twinking was heavily discouraged by having a lower level limit, most of the invasions I get on my BL43 are other BL43 twinks waiting at the start of the level for a fight.
