I will honestly say that Dark Souls 2's NG+ was handled very well. I love that things actually changed, enemies weren't just twice as hard.
My understanding is SotFS just starts adding a shitload of black phantoms and extra Pursuers for you to get ruined by in NG+. I've not reached that point yet so I don't really understand the meaning of true suffering. But that was one of the key complaints I heard.
a shitload of black phantoms and extra Pursuers
The black phantoms are pretty much a cakewalk, but I have to say the Pursuers popping up with no indication, and then just trashing me at least twice per level is getting old. I have a +7 Hiede Knight Sword and a +7 Claymore and I still get completely fucking thrashed. I like that he's actually "pursuing you" in this version, but it's just boring fighting him 4 fucking god damn times in this Lost Bastille. [editline]5th February 2016[/editline] I have to say, the enemy placement in Dark Souls II originally was pretty horrible, but SotFC "solves" this by adding MORE DUDES. I just. I'm so confused.
DS2 was the only one to add things. DS1 added Gwyn's stuff to Domnhall's inventory and you could get his sword, but aside from that, it did not add anything new.
Gravelords.
DS2 was the only one to add things. DS1 added Gwyn's stuff to Domnhall's inventory and you could get his sword, but aside from that, it did not add anything new.
at least the increase in difficulty was pretty well balanced. You don't become utter trash but it's not as much of a cakewalk anymore
What weapon are you using? At 4 souls I did 175 damage a pop with a +10 Longsword
Not in NG, using a Curved Dragon Greatsword +5, that's like 400 + 200 physical attack. Guess I'll go do Ancient Dragon...
Gravelords.
As if that ever worked. I think I only got legit Gravelorded once in my 350 hours of play.
As if that ever worked. I think I only got legit Gravelorded once in my 350 hours of play.
That's one more than me. 327 hours and I've not once been gravelorded.
That covenant got shafted so hard. To this day I still cannot tell if gravelords only affecting NG+ players is supposed to be intentional or a bug.
That covenant got shafted so hard. To this day I still cannot tell if gravelords only affecting NG+ players is supposed to be intentional or a bug.
It's likely intentional since NG+ was originally supposed to add red phantoms to the game world normally (similarly to how DS2 did it). Some design decision led them to unlink the Red Phantoms from NG+ and instead make them only present when a player was Gravelorded. In the dev build (When that was leaked) you could find a world tendency setting (much like from Demon's souls) which was tied to NG level and would add red phantoms to the world is it increased. They probably decided to relink it to Gravelords to give NG+ something different to do. I've been told the Gravelord covenant was meant to work like the Rat Covenant in DS2. Players would be forced to invade and defeat the Gravelord to, do, something. It also might have been limited to the Catacombs and Tomb of the Giants.
WHY THE FUCK DO ALONNE KNIGHTS RUN SO FAST
That's one more than me. 327 hours and I've not once been gravelorded.
564 hours here, and no gravelords.
My point was that it still added something one way or the other. It's better than "the game is harder now."
Sounds like it's time to unleash an army of new characters whose sole purpose in DS is to be a gravelord until DS3 releases.
yes
Sounds like it's time to unleash an army of new characters whose sole purpose in DS is to be a gravelord until DS3 releases.
This proposition both disgusts and attracts me
That's one more than me. 327 hours and I've not once been gravelorded.
I played up to NG+7 on the PS3 in DS1. I learned that there's some gravelord-thing when it was released on the PC (I never read any wikis or guides before that) and I've never ever been gravelorded. Completed the PC-version several times too.
WHY THE FUCK DO ALONNE KNIGHTS RUN SO FAST
It's ironic considering how fucking heavy their armor and weapons are Screw the Iron Keep in general in SoTFS
some hackers are pretty weird he even had a script to use my in-game name
Sounds like it's time to unleash an army of new characters whose sole purpose in DS is to be a gravelord until DS3 releases.
Being a gravelord is the most unsatisfying thing in the world. Sure, you might be royally fucking up some NG+ person's day, but you'll never even know it, it never tells you or anything. Someone might come into your world through the sign, but that's about it. If gravelords made black phantoms appear in NG it would have been fucking amazing but as it is it's pretty underwhelming. The only time I've been gravelorded by an actual person was when I was PvPing in the Township on a character I got to NG+. Gravelord Cheat Engine script is fun though.
Everyone has to have "The Gravelord" after your name to make the meat bags tremble before our might. I need to start this quest later today after some sleep. I hope there's a version of the Gravelord covenant in DS3 and a much better one at that.
Gravelord Cheat Engine script is fun though.
What can be done exactly?
Everyone has to have "The Gravelord" after your name to make the meat bags tremble before our might. I need to start this quest later today after some sleep.
It should come before, like "Gravelord *name*". That's how titles work after all, and it would look more dignified and legit
It should come before, like "Gravelord *name*". That's how titles work after all, and it would look more dignified and legit
Aye my memory is rusty, need to refresh it. God I'd love it if multiple Gravelords in one area stacked to a certain degree or something of that nature to increase the troll levels.
What can be done exactly?
It just makes black phantoms appear in your world as if you were being Gravelorded, basically the only way to actually ever be Gravelorded. Doesn't have anything to do with others' worlds, although maybe if you were a phantom in someone's world you could make black phantoms appear in theirs :v:
So a friend was really nice and gifted me Dark Souls 1 for Steam. DSFix gives me 60fps, which is nice, but I can't figure out if there's a way to make the full screen resolution any higher than the default 1280x720. And that's annoying because it isn't even my aspect ratio, so the game display is off-center of my screen :s: Also, there's screen tearing. Apparently VSync doesn't work in DSFix, so whatever I guess. But any way to fix the resolution problem?

Make sure AA is set off and you've set the rendering resolution in the ini to be correct I guess? I think you can force Vsync in your graphics control panel as well, whether that's Nvidia or AMD

I'll try what you said with VSync though. [editline]edit[/editline] I'M DUMB. All I had to do was go into the in-game settings and VOILA there is now an option to make it 1920x1080 :suicide:
