Dark Souls + Demon's Souls + Bloodborne Megathread VIII. At The End

Hope we get ridiculous armor variety like in DS2.
I dunno why but in DS2 I felt like you could mix and match random sets way better than you could in DS1. There were some good combos, like EK + K + Solaire, Brass + Embraced + Paladin, Steel + Black Iron, but other than those I don't recall sets working as well with eachother as they did in DS2, by virtue of the crazy variety and good partitioning on the individual parts of the sets.
Also, some people who saw the early game footage are worried that [sp]The world won't have the same interconnectedness (Shortcuts, shortcuts everywhere) that we could find in Dark Souls 1.[/sp]
I think that's not really a concern - at least, there's a good chance that's an invalid fear. After all, [sp]The high wall of Lothric and Lothric castle, where the player starts the game, are set on a large mountainous plateau rising far above the other lands. The player didn't really have a lot of time to see what lay beyond - just one area, and one boss - before the FromSoft devs put an end to the demo.[/sp] So I don't think we need worry just yet. When the Japanese version is out, then we'll know for sure.
i hope ds3 has lots of [sp]big swords[/sp] and [sp]big boys[/sp]
i will be the biggest boy
my boy will be bigger than yours
Me and a friend started a co-op playthrough as deprived using only just spears. We decided to join the Darkwraiths. So we took on Sif and the Four Kings at level 20 and managed to do it.
Now we're plowing through poking everything with our spears and sacks on our heads with aspirations of becoming skeletons

Give me all 3 black witch headgear, the veil is my favorite and worked well with some light gear, sadly too many clippings.
Is anyone else not able to connect to the online play in ds1? it's really lonely without messages or ghosts of players from other worlds...

It can take a long time before you get connected sadly.
You can install pvp watchdog to see how many people (nodes) you are connected to. Makes it easier to know if you should bother with putting down a sign/invading or not.

I already installed it, played for over an hour and it stayed at 0 nodes.

Have you made sure you're not on the beta branch?
Have you made sure you're not on the beta branch?
as far as I can tell I'm not
Was there any real doubt that it wouldn't be 60fps? I don't know why people worked themselves up so much over it.
Uh. It could possibly be the fact that no souls game except SotFS has been 60 FPS at launch without mods?

Vanilla Dark Souls 2 on PC runs at 60 FPS.

Oh, really? Well either way there was a LOT of doubts.

"I'm you, but stronger."
Oh, man, I just realized something. In Dark Souls 2, you could invade people even if they've cleared the area boss - and summon shades for coop. I hope you can in DS3, too.

figured it out--dsfix for some reason was disconnecting me...removed it and it's blurry but otherwise fine
Just got around to play through the ds2 dlc
so its basically tradition to make chaos bosses awful now?
what? The bosses in the DLCs were pretty cool. Ivory King (only thing that comes to mind when you talk about chaos, still finishing iron) really forced you to get the dodge pattern down perfectly, but it was amazing
no lol, it starts out with that stupid black knight section. and then it's just a generic sword swinging dodge boss, with the added frustration of having to kill another 10 black knights if you somehow manage to die to him.
I have a feeling you didn't free enough Loyce Knights.
I liked the fight and the knight assault, and I'm definitely one of the more buttflustered DS2 players on FP
the charred knights are hardly a problem if you get all of the loyce knights, then they just mainly focus on them. i can get to ivory in like 2 minutes with them
Even then you only need like 3 of the Knights
Even then you only need like 3 of the Knights
TBH I have no idea where the fourth knight is. I had one of the three knights die before they could freeze the portal once, and the boss fight became a clusterfuck
Co-op in DS1 is so much fun! never actually played with a friend in it.
altough i wish the connectivity was better, it can take years to find eachother
He was complaining about the Ivory King being yet another reskinned Pursuer boss after the whole knights phase is done
Sadly the Ivory King fight becomes so awful after NG+, the charred knights might as well be the boss while the King takes the bullet sponge role.

He's King Allant, please. People loved his moveset.
uh, yes there is, alsanna tells you so
Many of Eleum Loyce's faithful knights followed their Lord into the Chaos. But none of them returned. The King's dutiful subjects waited patiently for His homecoming. But it was too long a wait to bear… The knights of Eleum Loyce await a new leader. One who will guide them into Chaos. After having freed all Loyce Knights. The knights, reborn will follow your word.
its a teensy bit cryptic but thats dark souls being dark souls
