Dark Souls + Demon's Souls + Bloodborne Megathread VIII. At The End
Starting my first real Bloodborne playthrough. I played it a bit back when I didn't have internet a couple months back but only got to the first boss. Figured I would just restart since I don't really remember what I was doing and it was only an hour into the game anyway. Any tips I should know? And how long will the game last if I go through at a steady pace?
Quickstep like a motherfucker, stamina regens way faster so don't be afraid to use it.
You'll probably get your shit pushed in by Father Gasoline but don't worry, he's basically there to make you unlearn dodging from the souls games. Once you get confident with the quickstep he isn't that tough.
I always have this problem of starting new characters in Dark Soul's, but only having finished the game with one.
Started a new one the other day.
So now I have one shieldless ninjaflip-pyromancer for saving Solaire and a shieldless swordsman and a UGS-build for the Dickwraith ending.
Perhaps I'll try to finish it with the shieldless swordsman.
Having a character based on Jubilant Catarina meshes really well with the thief mask when hollowed (not pictured).
"Clerics amirite?"

Something interesting I found out.

Pik Sen Lim, the narrator for every Souls game (except DS2). aka the "Yes Indeed" lady :v:

Whats quickstepping, because I thought that was referring to dodging then you mention Father Gascan making me unlearn dodging so I'm not sure :v:
smash that mothafuckin mercy button cuz it's REAL pacifist hours up in here 
so far NonViolent Ned has managed to get stuck under a pier in no-man's wharf and pull a CLUTCH victory out of last giant with pate being a bitch and moving whenever I tried to heal him. he was one stomp away from defeat

three bosses have been slaughtered in the most peaceful and non-violent fashion you can imagine
So my plan for getting that Platinum in Demon's is to do a handful of achievements per playthrough per month. This month marked the end for Kat the Large. The goals for him were to get the Master Basher's Trophy and the Flame Master's Trophy

I am sad to see this character go becuase he is the most good looking dude I have ever made in Demon's

So this month and ending next month will be Kat the Quick, a dex build. I'm planning on getting the Master Bowman's Trophy, Master Slicer's Trophy, and the Flying Dragon's Trophy.
Not sure what the lineup will be in between that char and my final one, but the final playthrough will be the one where I get every ring, every unique item, and every spell. I already started on that a little bit with a character aptly named Kat the Nuts
update: pursuer has been peacefully bodied after he chose to ignore the nearby sorcerer hurling magical spears at him for an extended period of time. I played no part in this murder

So I'm doing an NG+7 perma-gravelorded hyper aggression mod playthrough from a level 1 Pyromancer. I need teammates to summon for the co-ops to begin with. I want to experience something similar to Oro and Peeve's Pure Black playthrough. So, anyone feel like preparing to die? You've seen the shit they went through. I'm in Finland so keep in mind that we need to be relatively close anyway. Thankfully connecting is easier now than it used to be. Closer the time zone, the easier it (probably) is to arrange our playthroughs.
My hope is to revive the Wu Tang Knights; a group of three dastardly Black Knight cosplayers who once already attempted braving this perilous task with halberd, greatsword and greataxe alike.
We got fucking stomped in Darkroot Garden.
The rules are as follows:
1. Get yourself your Black Knight set and shield by completing the game or CE. We can't have the same weapon though.
2. You start at level 1 and level using the souls we'll collect together. If anyone starts lagging behind just CE yourself some souls or some shit to keep leveling up. My intent is to stop at level 125 or 150.
3. No upgrading unless we find materials. We're not allowed to farm but once I get to the Giant Blacksmith, assuming I have the souls to spend I'll upgrade as far as I can and then we can stay at that level.
4. Stock up on humanity. It's going to be your most reliable source of healing. No other heals are allowed, including Divine Blessings and mushrooms. That includes me; no Estus.
5. No miracles. No pyromancies. No sorceries. [DEL]No Russian.[/DEL] Black Knights are all about melee.
6. You can use any rings you damn well feel like. You can also stat your dude or dudette however you want though quality stats and endurance is probably going to be the most crucial.

Majestic! A Dexfag is a Dexfag... even in a dream. But alas, not too skilled...
Finally got the fashion souls I desired for my latest character

Awesome look.
Sometimes in PVP I hit the guy and he doesn't lose any hp, are those hackers? Or shitty netcode
Really annoying when a guy like that invades me
That's the netcode.

Check the location of people like that, if they're halfway across the world then the netcode understandably has some issues keeping up.
I want more friendly NPC co-op encounters, or just more NPC interactions in general besides talking.
The Loyce Knights part at the end of IK was really good, this big 3v3 type of thing with all this shit going on was really nice and unique. The memories also featuring giant vs. guy & turtle combat were also neat, even if you couldn't really help the guys out since they were aggressive.
I loved the boss fight when the knights come with you. The drop with the entire gang gathered up is probably the single most breathtaking thing you can do in the entire series.

Likely netcode but could be hackers.

Thank god they're ditching that awful soul memory bullshit for 3.
Is there some kind of soul memory level for pvp or are people still just leveling like crazy?
I heard they removed SM from DS3 but I don't know if they replaced it with anything. I think the way they should have did the PvP would be to remove all limits on SM and levels and make it so if you start getting consecutive kills you have a certain "asshole score" that goes up and the higher it goes, the more likely you are to be matched with tougher players and have blue sentinals called and things like that.

It's back to Soul Level matchmaking, like in the first Dark Souls
My preferred system for matching players up would bee a system that has a certain value for weapons and armor and their upgrading along with soul level, which leaves equipment stored in the bonfire's inventory box out of the equation.
Shit like having a Havel'ed up guy with a pyromancy flame +10 turn up and flambe starting classes.

Also: Dark Souls 1 was strangely barren today. Saw barely any bloodsplats or phantoms.
I'd rather just have to worry about Soul level. Might end up fighting twinked out characters but that's part of the charm to me.
I preferred the system based on level. Twinks were part of the fun and I remember my first time playing Dark Souls blind, getting invaded by twinks was less about "wow cheap i just got killed" and more about "Whoa! Where do I get that cool stuff he had?". It takes a certain amount of skill to be a twink as well, since you have to go through the game at a low level (assuming you're not hacking, but this was on console).

I don't know, whenever I got one shotted by the giant firestorm pyromancy in the undead burg I didn't feel the least bit optimistic about the game.
For the longest time, I couldn't Dark Souls 1 and 2 on PC because the porting for the keyboard controllers was abysmal, and I couldn't get a good controller ever since my old PS3 controller broke, but today my parents surprised me with a wired Xbox 360 controller.
All I can say is, I'm really glad my first run against the Taurus Demon ended within 20 seconds as he jumped backwards off the railing and died.
How the fuck can you people tolerate twinks? I'm not going to say they're a 100% negative aspect but they are a 100% negative aspect that From took extreme measures to fix for a reason. Them giving up and snapping back to SL doesn't suddenly make them alright, and it doesn't change the fact that every twink encounter, past the first where you half-heartedly went "neat gear lol", was completely unfair shit. This game is fair. It's balanced to a ridiculous point. The cancerous tumor that are twinks share none of the qualities that make a From game good.
Tired rant aside, I honestly do wish I could take joy in getting invaded by Chaos Zweihander twinks in the Burg. You guys should try being me for a day and you have no idea how damn happy you'd be.
Taking multiple tries to kill some boss is alright, dying to an actual invader who fair & square downed my shit is okay, but some idiot somewhere making it his life goal to waste my fucking time is 110% not ok.
twinks suck but soul memory sucks more
Yknow I was thinking of that the other day but then gear swapping is still a thing
Could also base invasions on comparing boss kills
that wouldn't change anything because twinks still have to beat most bosses to get their +10 gear
exactly-- this stops sl1 twinks in full +10 gear from destroying people who just started the game
I'm not sure end-game twinking can still be called that
