Can you see the difference here? [thumb]http://img830.imageshack.us/img830/3379/talicomparison2.jpg[/thumb]
Can I get a hint?
This is awesome, nice work
Woah, something is seriously wrong with my system. I found this video on youtube( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nHYRfoiyAVA)of some guy playing Mass Effect 2 on Max with almost the exact same system as mine getting 120 FPS while recording with FRAPS. What the hell is up with my card? Fallout 3 also runs at 50 FPS(modded) but it recognizes my card as an Nvidia 7900(Maybe my motherboards built in card?) Mass Effect 2 configurator recognises my 5970 though. Anyone know what my problem could possibly be?
the only time id see the difference is if i zoomed into the head with a sniper this is not needed mate
Holy shit if you can't see the difference you must be blind. It's pretty damn obvious how much better quality it is. Also conversations. [editline]7th January 2012[/editline]
Just registered to get this information up here since it may be relevant and a welcome technical upgrade to the fantastic texture updates by JeanLuc. Bunch of devs have taken up Texmod to continue it's development as opensource. http://code.google.com/p/texmod/ They've renamed it uMod, and they are currently up to a 1.0 r40 release. There's a few fantastic upgrades that may positively affect the stellar work JeanLuc has done. Here's a JeanLuc quote: "Loading time is indeed a couple minutes at the start of the game. Unfortunately there's absolutely nothing I can do about that (Fucking texmod!)" The new Texmod uses an updated injector to get the textures in. It's faster, and easier to use. Secondly, you can turn on, off, even update textures while you have the game running. i.e. change a .tpf, click UPDATE (reload) button, and it'll send the updated tpf to the live game, etc. Finally, it has a template saver so you can setup say Mass Effect 2, with all the TPF's you use in what order and save it as a template for quick loading. So no more having to setup Texmod every time you want to play. Give it a shot, y'all. Cheers, Chan
Do you have to be in game for it to work or can you load it on the menu screen? Because that might have been my problem with it.
Or, you know, every single time you're having a conversation with either of these characters...
the quality is really unnoticeable unless you get up close really who looks at mass effect 2 and goes "wow this game could really use a graphics upgrade!"
the quality is really unnoticeable unless you get up close really who looks at mass effect 2 and goes "wow this game could really use a graphics upgrade!"
A lot of people.
the quality is really unnoticeable unless you get up close really who looks at mass effect 2 and goes "wow this game could really use a graphics upgrade!"
Have you even tried it? I instantly noticed quite an improvement. And why not, if your PC can handle it, make the game better looking than it already does?
my computer can handle it why fix something that isnt broke???
Ignore him, just look at his username. He is quite obviously a troll, and that's why he also got banned for 3 days just now.
Fuck it there's no point in arguing with this idiot.
my computer can handle it why fix something that isnt broke???
There are a couple reasons I ended up doing this mod. It began (and continued) because I had a lot of fun doing it, and I also learned a lot about Photoshop. I also began it because, by modern standards, the character textures in Mass Effect 2 are aggravatingly low resolution (1024x1024, usually). Ordinarily most games could get away with that, but Mass Effect zooms in on characters 90% of the time when you're talking to them, so low resolution texture work stands out like a sore thumb. Additionally, I received an absolutely insane amount of support once people caught onto what I was doing, and that's motivated me to get as far as I have.
Bit of an update, however minor. This texture was REALLY bugging me. [thumb]http://img208.imageshack.us/img208/37/masseffect2201201090152.jpg[/thumb]
Nice... face looks a little smooth though.
Nice... face looks a little smooth though.
Actually, I haven't touched the face texture yet. Seems to be just a split-second change in lighting.
Thank god i wasn't the only one annoyed by it. You'd think they would've learnt their lesson by LOTSB, but apparently not
When new content is done by a smaller team in a smaller timeframe you're going to get shortcuts.

Given how poor quality the civilian outfits are, especially the overalls and science outfits, they were in dire need of an update. Hopefully they'll be usable in ME3 with a tweak.
Each time I try and load the packages in TexMod, it crashes and says masseffect2.exe has stopped working and to close the program.
Each time I try and load the packages in TexMod, it crashes and says masseffect2.exe has stopped working and to close the program.
What mods are you trying to run?
What mods are you trying to run?
I've tried all of them, both in batches and singularly and now, I can't even run ME2 at all, it gives the same error and wont even run.
I've tried all of them, both in batches and singularly and now, I can't even run ME2 at all, it was the same error and wont even run.
Have you perchance illegally downloaded Mass Effect?
Have you perchance illegally downloaded Mass Effect?
Wow... really? If you don't have the answers to help, just say so, but please refrain from criminal accusations.
Wow... really? If you don't have the answers to help, just say so, but please refrain from criminal accusations.
Alright, I guess you don't want the help. It's pretty well known that the mods might fail if you have illegally downloaded Mass Effect.
Alright, I guess you don't want the help. It's pretty well known that the mods might fail if you have illegally downloaded Mass Effect.
Right, if I don't want to be called a criminal, that must translate into "I don't want help" which is why I came to find answers to the problem, because I don't want any help. Your logic is groundbreaking! There can't "possibly" be any other answer why a mod may not work other than the user must be a criminal, right? Because ME2 is so mod-friendly. If you don't have any actual answers or anything that helps posters, why do you post at all? Just to start flame-wars?
Talk about defensive.
Talk about defensive.
Obviously you are used to being called a criminal for no reason.

I'm also pretty sure 95% of all people here have, at some point, downloaded a game. It's not like I'm going to call the coppers on you for a laugh.
