so in texmod is the target application supposed to be masseffect2.exe?
Correct.

I'm still Commander Shepard and this is still my favourite mod in this forum. :q:
Hello folks, got another release for ya. This one is an upgrade for Liara T'soni (both on Illium and in the Lair of the Shadow Broker DLC). OP has been updated as well, enjoy!
*Please note, this will replace Liara's face texture on Illium with her LotSB texture. I did this to improve consistency, and will be releasing a mod that replaces her LotSB texture with her "Illium" texture, for those who want it.

Dunno, as for me, looks worse. Besides, her LotSB face was pretty detailed already.
And about putting Liara's LotSB face in Illium - did you replaced eyes too? I heard it's impossible.

The eyes are indeed impossible to replace (different shaders). In what way does she look worse?

She looks a little.. different. And the texture itself looks, well, slightly smeared.

Hmmm...I'm personally not seeing that (even after directly comparing to the "default" texture), but to each their own. If anyone else starts issuing complaints about it, I'll change it back.
I see no difference in them comparsion screens on page 1, however i do notice the high res textures on the costumes :|

*raises eyebrow*
There aren't any comparison screens on page one.
That said, it does tell me that I definitely NEED to make some comparison screens, so good on you catching my failure in that regard :downs:
Sweet, was going to do another ME2 run-through, this should make it prettier.
Is the texture mod hard to install?

Nah, it's pretty simple. Just download texmod to its own folder, and put the mods in the Texmod folder. When you start up Texmod, choose masseffect2.exe, and load the mods you want. Then click "Run Application" and you're good to go.
Also, updated the OP with three comparison shots, and I'll get some more later.
Jean, before I Try this, how much performance drops did you encounter using this? I currently get steady 60 FPS at all times at max settings so would this drop it to 30-40?

It's hard for me to say. My computer runs the game anywhere from 15fps to 45 fps (depends on the scene, and the fact I'm using 4xAA). On my setup, I notice a 5fps drop or so, and obviously the initial loading time is very long.
I personally don't have any crippling performance issues from this mod, matter of fact, I'm barely inconvenienced. But it does differ from system to system. If you're running 60fps maxxed out already, I doubt you'll see much of a problem.

Wait what, ME2 has AA?
Wait what, ME2 has AA?
I'm sure you can force it if you have an nVidia card.
Wait what, ME2 has AA?
You can enable AA in driver's settings.
/ninjas everywhere.

hd 6850 :(
I will never understand why Bioware decided to use those crappy low-res textures.
Looks really good.
Really? REALLY?! When i saw this thread i thought "Why?! ME2 already has awesome graphics." Can you explain?
Also i see barely any differences.
The textures on the highest settings are absolutely atrocious, I.E. Volus suits look extremely muddy.
I don't see how anyone can't see the differences. I like these mods as the textures in the core game are completely whacked, some are standard resolution and some are painfully low resolution.

You'd be surprised. Quite a few people apparently can't see the difference, even though it's obvious to (seemingly) the majority.
The solution is clear: I need better comparison shots.
Hey bro I can't get it working, I set texmod to use Masseffect2launcher.exe and put all texture files in the box, launched the game but I can't seem to get it working because I don't see what you see in your screenshots.

You have to use MassEffect2.exe, not the launcher. That should fix your problem.
hd 6850 :(
You can force AA in the Catalyst Control Center.
Ultimate bad assery!

Alright will try out, Getting 60 FPS 9/10 of the time i play ME2 max 1920x1080 goin to try and see what performance i get.
EDIT: Played around 5 minutes on the level where I recruit Grunt, Didn't notice to much performance drops, Went down to 55 FPS once.
EDIT 2: The game seems to load alot slower now (Not loading screens, but launching the game and getting to start menu seems to take 2-3 minutes now instead of a few seconds.
EDIT 3: Game went down to 22 FPS during a cutscene :(
EDIT 4: Tried out the cutscene without the texture mods, solid 60 FPS.
EDIT 5: FPS goes around 23-45 during combat now, Will unfornately not use this mod until I go crossfire, I hate getting less than 30 FPS at all times :/ Looks great ingame though so I'll look forward to updates.

Loading time is indeed a couple minutes at the start of the game. Unfortunately there's absolutely nothing I can do about that (Fucking texmod!)
As for the performance drop, curiously, I don't have any issues while in combat. I do see a performance drop in cutscenes though, but again, that seems to be a result of Texmod.
What I wouldn't do for a .pcc compiler/extractor; that'd eliminate ALL of these problems.
Indeed. The overhead on texmod is pretty huge, BUT cutting down the lighting passes to 2/1 in conversation mode tends to work wonders.

...I must go try this.
It doesn't sacrifice the cinematic quality too much does it?
No.
Shadowing is still correct, it's just a lot less subtle.
