Tell me more?
I am going to install it soon.
I've not had any issues with the game at all. Its been perfect thus far.
I understand this thread might not be the most unbiased place to ask but is this game worth my money if I've absolutely adored recent turn based titles like XCOM and Divinity Original Sin? [editline]6th October 2014[/editline] oh and most recently Endless Legend
I'd say so.

It's fun, but super fucking buggy and the devs clearly didn't even bother with basic QA after about 50% of the game.

Wasteland 2 has very little, if any. It got some stuff going for it though. Dialogues are entertaining (if a bit unpolished), story is nice, sidequests are mostly interesting, there's a lot of exploration to do, locations are varied and interesting... Overall design suffers from general low-quality (which can't always be explained by stylistic direction) though. The game also tries hard enough to value your decisions fairly, which is a big plus.
XCOM's tactical combat was very basic, so I don't quite know what you're talking about.
"Basic" as compared to what, exactly? It was the most that could be expected from a basic system that it was built on. Combat in Wasteland 2 has the same premise, even more complex in places, and it absolutely lacks any depth at all. I never said that XCOM ever was a pinnacle of complexity, I just compared the two.
Apologies then, because it sounded like you were holding up XCOM as some kind of gold standard. I find them both relatively lacking in depth. I agree with you XCOM is obviously way more polished. Silent Storm is probably the best example of tactical combat off the top of my head.
It's closer to the older fallout combat than anything.
Sad part being Fallout 1's combat is still better.

Don't know any other game where you can choose to start the combat by shooting through the wooden ceiling to hit the enemy on another floor.

First thing I did was get my heavy MG to completely rip open the ceiling and nade upstairs. It's a fucking brilliant TBS game.
[sp] Went to damonta. You got to bring some proper firepower with you if you want to survive. That place is filled with all sorts of nasty stuff like Slicer dicers, discobots and Tresher Clawers. [/sp]

My party had at least one anti tank weapon per person, the mules carried three each plus their assault rifles. So, in the end I always had at least 9 anti tank weapons. Assuming I could replace the spent ones. My party was very slow at times. Luckily by the end we had enough range on our weapons to not give a single fuck about movement. Max party size is best party size.
So i bought a retail copy of this game because my internet is dodgy as fuck atm (like 100 kb/s) and it turns out the disc only holds 9% of the content and the rest has to be downloaded through steam whats the point

It's not rare nowadays to open the box, only to find CD-Key.
Still hoping eventually a boxed copy comes in the mail. Though I'm afraid that part of the tier won't happen.
Man, the entirety of LA feels really unfinished and becomes literally unplayable later on, if you haven't reached hollywood or traveled to LA yet i suggest stopping and waiting for them to fix the damn thing. LA isn't so bad but hollywood is just completely broken, i doubt the devs even played through it once, they probably ran out of time or something since pretty much any quest you start is bound to be fucked. I'll just drop the game for now and hope they'll fix it. [editline]a[/editline] Oh look, a patch just came out, things might be a little better now.
That change log for this patch was fucking gigantic.
Boxed copies shipped out today I believe. Just go the email from them. So excited.
so uh... bumping this old old thread cause I bought this game and rly want to talk to people about it cause WOAH is it a good game. i never played the original wasteland for FO1 - 2 so this is my first endeavor with a post-apocalyptic CRPG and dang i'm having a blast. i honestly think the actual roleplaying of the game is fantastic and one of the things that's really making me love it, and the combat itself is very fun (kinda reminds me of xcom enemy unknown) and can get real stressful real quick. i'm taking it real slow right now, working my way through the prison right now at about 13 hours in

Welp, learned the hard way that the carny quirk overwrites a rangers appearance. Would have been nice to know in character creation.
