I have never played the original Wasteland, but I have heard great things about it. I might donate 15$ or 30$, because I'm a huge sucker for post apocalyptic games, especially RPG's.
Do it.
It'd be nice if there was some kind of a stats screen on the kickstarter page.
It'd be nice if there was some kind of a stats screen on the kickstarter page.
There is? Shows how many backers, and what backers at each tier..?
Wow, it hit a million.
There is? Shows how many backers, and what backers at each tier..?
I meant stats about what country has pledged the most, diagrams, etc.
I might donate 65$ (with shipping) towards the end of it, or at least 15$. Probably the former depending on how much money I got.
Yay, an update! http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/inxile/wasteland-2/posts
Yay, an update! http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/inxile/wasteland-2/posts

This is a paradigm shift that is way bigger than Wasteland 2. This is the beginning of a new era in gaming where the developer gets to work directly with the fans to build the type of product that the fans want. No focus groups, no pitches to the marketing team, no trying to get an executive committee to group-think their way to a project green-light. Now we just have a developer with a creative idea that resonates and a group of dedicated fans who are willing to lay down their money to buy it.
*sniff* oh come on man don't make me tear up like this...
Soon I shall donate one hundo to this cause, and that spot on the credits list will be mine!
They upped the limit on the 5k and 10k tiers. They should do the same for the 1k
Backed a 100 awww ye
Soon I shall donate one hundo to this cause, and that spot on the credits list will be mine!
Should I use my real name for the novelty, or should I tell them to put "Slab Bulkhead" on there?
did that actually happen in futurama? and who the fuck is brian fargo? also i'm laughing at all the earlier posts going "oh boy 500k, this'll def make it by the 27th day".. 5 hours later: goal reached

god i love that movie.
Almost at the 1.25 mil goal
What's your estimate what the pot will be when this closes? I'm guessing something like 2,5 million.
I think Kickstarter might be one of the greatest things ever invented. This hopefully will let many other company's do the same thing and get us some great games, no corporate bullshit.
Also if I remember right didn't Gabe say last year the fans funding games was the future? god damn he was completely right.
He said that he would be happy to implement a special feature in steam that would transfer money from fans to the developers so they can fund the project they're working on. [editline]17th March 2012[/editline] He's a genius.
What's your estimate what the pot will be when this closes? I'm guessing something like 2,5 million.
Yeah 2.0-2.5 million. More than enough to hit all the different benchmarks.
1,25 goal reached. I have to admit that it goes a bit slow, but I have yet to pledge so there has to be plenty of other people too.
Also if I remember right didn't Gabe say last year the fans funding games was the future? god damn he was completely right.
That's because he farts out some plutonium and hijacks Dr. Browns time machine every other month.
1,25 goal reached. I have to admit that it goes a bit slow, but I have yet to pledge so there has to be plenty of other people too.
It's not over yet
I will start writing up the Wasteland 2 vision document this weekend.
http://twitter.com/#!/BrianFargo/status/181042718670192642 Can't wait. EDIT I think I just found out that W2 is going to have voice acting. This list shows out that the legendary voice actor Dwight Schultz is in the inXile team. He was in Fallout 2, Baldur's gate II, Fallout tactics, and list goes on... And there seems to be plenty of other voice actors, too.
