And speaking of goodwill it occurs to me that we can harness the power of Kickstarter in a more meaningful way. Fan funding is bigger than me or Wasteland 2 as I have remarked before. The development community has come together to support us in ways that I didn't think possible and our power as developers will ultimately come from us sticking together. Both gamers and developers have so much more strength than they realize. But in order to help facilitate the power of crowd funding I am going to suggest that all of us that do utilize this form of financing agree to kickback 5% of our profits made from such projects to other Kickstarter developers. I am not suggesting taking a backers money and moving it to another project.. I mean once a game has shipped and created profit that we funnel that back into the community of developers to fund their dreams. I am tentatively calling this "Kick It Forward" and I will be the first to agree to it. In fact, I will have our artists create a badge that goes on all Kickstarter projects that agree to support this initiative. Imagine the potential if another Minecraft comes along via Kickstarter and produces millions of dollars of investment into other developers. This economic payback will continue to grow the movement way beyond the current system. I hope others will join me with this idea and make this a true shakeup.

PayPal option now available for those who couldn't use kickstarter.

Within two thousand from 1.5 mil
He's set up this website for his kick it forward idea http://kickingitforward.org/ and added a "KICK IT FORWARD" logo to his kickstarter page, this is cool stuff
Also it just reached $1.5 million. They're now gonna have Linux and Mac support.
Very cool! To get to 2 million I think he should add a minor reward to the 100$ level like a backer tshirt
Wasteland was pretty rad.
I'm wondering (haven't been following, so let me know if this hasn't been thought out or said yet) what style the graphics and camera will be.

in 2D?
2.5D?
Probably going to be 3D with a locked isometric view.
If Wasteland 2 hits 2.1 mil they can hire Obsidian to help with the game.

That's awesome but with I don't think we'll make it since funding has slowed right down.

Nonsense. Some people will raise their pledges and not everyone hasn't been able to pledge yet.
And we are only half way through.

http://ruinedkingdoms.com/wasteland2/ The top left graph.
Not to mention whenever a kickstarter campaign reaches the final day, the amount of funding received skyrockets.

It slows down until there is new rewards/news/and at the end.
I agree 380k will be tough in 17 days. But 2.1 would be huge

No, not Obsidia for fucks sake.
I can't name even one game made by them that wasn't a buggy & glitchy piece of shit.
Obsidian will just be writing and providing their engine and tools, Inxile will still do all the programming.

KOTOR2, NWN2, Alpha Protocol and FO:NV. All were buggy, but also 10 times better than what most big name devs can pump out nowadays.
I'll take the buggy FO:NV over Beth's plain, flavuorless FO3.

Obsidian is only doing writing and some of the world design.
Already over 1,8 mil! (kickstarter + paypal)

Kotor 2 was buggy because lucas arts shaved off 3 months of development to to meet the christmas rush and then refused to allow obsidian to patch it up. Alpha Protocol also got horrid post release support from sega. When they started New Vegas nobody in the company had any experience of the gamebryo engine.
I think despite all that the games are very good. They've just had very poor luck when it comes to publishers.

Try Dungeon Siege 3, it was created using their own engine and is actually pretty polished.

donated 200
They made almost 200k in a day thanks to that news update, <300k to go. Anyone still think they can't reach $2.1 million?
I still want my Modern M.A.X. I miss that game so much. After Wasteland 2 I think i'll e-mail him about that. It is one of my favorite strategy games of all time.

I really hope this happens
Donated 1 buck, eh every bit helps I guess. I didn't play Wasteland one but it sounds like a cool time killer of a game. I hope it isn't top-down like he said though, but rather like Fallout 2 Isometric or something.
