I love burning trash compactors
as cool as it looks they need to rework the landing area a little, it's like the whole customs place for 1 parking spot
really should be like one of those high tech parking garages where you land on a pad that descends into a stack so that others can use it

Ah, yes, the Geocities method of separating users.
Got into the freelancer cockpit.
Arena Commander Module:
-Vanduul Glaive can now extend its blade
-Vanduul Scythe can now extend its blade
(HUD interaction can be turned on by pressing the Home button and then clicking on the blade platform to extend the weapon)
-Vixen and Warlord should no longer play weapon fire audio when they aren't firing their weapons
-Contact list is now disable in Arena Commander so that it doesn't conflict with target focus
Social Module:
-AFK clients will now be kicked from the server after an extended period of inactivity
-Ability to go prone by holding ctrl+b button on a controller has been removed due to collision being prone to error (yes that's a pun)
-Fixed an issue where disconnecting from ArcCorp would prevent a client from being able to enter any kind of instance
-Fixed an issue where failing to connect to ArcCorp would prevent a client from being able to enter any kind of instance
-Adjusted collision on some of the boxes so that characters aren't floating in the air when standing on them
-Fixed an issue where clients would see other characters T-pose when moving up or down stairs
That gets me thinking, if they did go with a method similar to this, would we be able to grandtheft-spaceship other player's ships somehow?
Also, has anybody else noticed the exploit where you can get into the M50 display area?
There are known glitches onto the m50 display pad. In the leaked build with the massively-unfinished version of Area 18, it was even easier. :v:
I'm pretty certain you won't be able to steal unattended ships, unless the pilot flew into space and then went afk, then you'd be have all the opportunities you needed to board his ship and punch him out the airlock, GTA-style.

Also, there's the fps status post today, and there should be an EWAR design post to go with the Vanguard variant sale due to happen today.

I know we all love DS, but this recent thing put me in stitches.
While I have the utmost respect and admiration for gamers from all corners of gaming, the one thing that I detest and abhor the most, are personal attacks, bullying, harassment and anti-social behavior.

Chris, in your case however, I made the exception because you’re a lying, fraudulent, egotistical, asshole who doesn’t care about the people around you, despite the public face you portray to the gullible cult fools who lap up your lies, hypocrisy and deceit. If you cared one bit about the lives you’re about to disrupt, the families you’re about to uproot, when this project fails – as most of us suspect that it will – you would make better choices.
This is also DS's response from the same August 7th blog post after watching the Gamescom demo:
UPDATE: Shortly after this post went live, Star Citizen was being demoed at gamescom via live TwitchTV stream. It completely solidified my opinion that this project is not only in trouble, but is never going to be completed as pitched. Pretty much what I said in my original blog back on July 4th weekend.
They were touting large near-barren 8 billion km space (which is a postage stamp compared to my game worlds btw) scene, one multi-crew ship (which we did back in the 2000s, and which has been working in my latest game for almost two years now) with clunky (ok – it’s alpha, I get that) controls – and not much else worthy of note. And even with local networking, and less than eight players, the networking issues were very evident.
Nothing tangible on the once delayed/canceled Star Marine, nothing to show on Squadron 42. But oh, there’s a social module which is a great conduit to sell you more crap.
$85m+ and four years later. No “game”.
And he’s claiming to be making a game that’s supposedly “substantially better” than mine?
I've bolded DS's lies/misrepresentations/inaccuracies for you.
BTW, that card is the only thing DS will receive from his refunded Kickstarter-era Connie pledge. :v:
He has got to be a professional troll. Like I can't believe anyone is that stupid.
Everything he post or says is hilariously stupid. And he usually throws in a few advertisements for his games.
His own Wikipedia article contains a quote from fucking himself bragging that he goes online and trolls just to stir shit up; that's his idea of a good time when he's in a good mood, in his own words. He's also clearly a narcissist and spends more time interacting with (antagonizing) his "community" than actually building his game.
He's attacking Star Citizen specifically to promote LoD; he's utterly misinformed about SC and has not done any research, but he doesn't need to be since he's only here for self-promotion and trolling.
Me may not be misinformed at all. He may know full well what's going on with SC, but knows what to twist to help promote himself.

Derek Smart is a career shitposter and has been at it since 1996. It's his thing.
Derek Smart is a career shitposter and has been at it since 1996. It's his thing.
Takes real talent to shitpost for two decades.
Also Arc Corp is gorgeous, can't wait to see it going on a day/night cycle, going to be fantastic.
Also I am in TS if anyone wants to play around on the PTU
Derek Smart is a career shitposter and has been at it since 1996. It's his thing.
I don't mind him shitposting, I'm more worried about the people that actually fall for it.

Considering he described the various development modules as if they were "expansion" content and not the test benches for SQ42/the PU in a context in which there was no reason to think he was being facetious, he's utterly uninformed about Star Citizen's development, and that works in his favour as he can just describe its development how he wants to paint exactly the picture he wants to paint so that he or his shitgames look better in comparison.
He doesn't know and he doesn't care, because accurate criticism of CIG is not his goal, trolling and getting his name everywhere is.
ArcCorp is also so full of stuff that I regularly get 5fps on high (turned up for screenshots/recording); switching to very high for screenshots basically caused my client to lock up and be pushing out frames at ~0fps, RIP. But, oh man it's pretty, and it's not even done. Also, people have figured out how to glitch through the glass at the customs entrance facing the parked Freelancer and then navigate all the way around to the Connie that's parked below G-loc and Casaba Outlet. I haven't yet, and if I manage to get out there before they fix the glass glitch, I'll get footage. They may be releasing access to ArcCorp for everyone tonight.
CIG Matt Sherman: EWar won't be like EVE, there's going to be a lot more risk-reward involved in the gameplay.
You can know full well how something works and still act like a complete knob. If he knows the ins and outs of the game and it's community, it'd be even easier to shitpost.
According to an interview with CR at Gamescom, he's never even downloaded the game. :v:
I guess he might just be playing dumb, it helps troll harder, but that smacks of "fooled you, I was just pretending to be retarded". Anyway, enough about Stupid, it's just more noise about him and that's what he wants.
Vanguard variants sale is up; the original, now known as the Vanguard Warden, is also back in store, PAGING Viper123_SWE !!!
[t]https://robertsspaceindustries.com/media/pgkagfzpcv2ifr/source/Vanguard_ALL_EXT.jpg[/t] [t]https://robertsspaceindustries.com/media/o6c9f6ykw9kiwr/source/Vanguard_variants_parked.jpg[/t]
Interestingly, in addition to the variants and variant upgrades (for people with original LTI Vanguards), they also have Battlefield Upgrade Kits:
A set of Battlefield Upgrade Kits are also available for those who would like to keep their older Vanguard Wardens. The upgrade kits function as in-universe part sets which convert the existing ships to the variant’s specifications. This allows you to swap between the abilities of the Warden, Sentinel or Harbinger at will! The upgrade kits exist in world similar to the interior Retaliator upgrade pods and do not change the styling of the individual ships, just the weapons and other upgrades installed.
So they've now decoupled variants from their loadouts. Interesting. Cosmetically remains the same, but you're basically purchasing the stock loadout presets from the other variants as a batch.
help me comprehend the harbinger's feed chute equipped rocket pods
how does it even work
how does the turret turn past the narrow fire arc given by the fixed belt mount points (does it????)
how do the rockets get from the chutes to the launch tubes, especially since there's supposed to be a second ready load of rockets behind the ones protruding from the launchers
is it all just space magic that some guy with technical sensibilities will hopefully go over before launch
Oh man I was hoping the Sentinel would have some pretty beefy dish arrays or something, kinda looks like an antenna off an RV right now :v:

It seems he doesn't even know who the developers are. He thinks a non-existent developer is making the game: Roberts Space Industries.
He also seems to think the social and FPS gameplay isn't important to what the game is going to be, as if they're just some side things they're putting in because they can.
oh goddamnit the vanguard shows it's face again. I barely resisted last time

his legal letter reads like satire because of that, addressing fictional entities such as 'roberts space industries' and 'sandra roberts' :v:

That's the thing. You purposely act like an idiot on simple things. It's an easy way to piss people off.
It takes very little effort, look at how elix takes it when a SC thread appears in news node or SH. No offense elix, but I always see you first in those threads.
Also, got email telling me I got free 15k UEC.
can confirm, I'm up 15k, that's a lot of free shit!
Free money for everyone!

or one greycat
If you spent money on the RSI site after entering the GAMESCOM2015 code, you're getting 15k UEC.
Kind of tempted to spend it on a workbench and a Gamescom trophy to eventually trade in the PU.
Awww yiss, Vanguard! Also, did I interpret it correctly that only one variant is in store for a limited time while the other two are "permanent"?
